Love is not about possession, it's about protection. Love entails sacrifice. The ability to put someone's well being before your own. To risk your heart is never an easy thing to do. With The Billionaire's Forever Family, Ms. Cameron put into words, emotions that we often find hard to convey. One adorable teenage girl teaches two adults the meaning of love. It's not about broken promises and long kept secrets. It's about giving freely of one's self and building something special together.

Really really heart warming. I thought Cassie could have compromised a little better instead of all or nothing but I really enjoyed this book!

After reading this book I think I should add more of Cate Cameron's books to my to be read list because I quite enjoyed "The Billionaire's Forever Family"; it's romantic, it's emotional, it's sweet, what's not to like about a story like this?

Cassie is doing her best to try to raise her niece Emily, she has sacrificed a lot for it but she loves her so she'd do anything for her.; when she finds clues about the guy who likely is her father she certainly doesn't expect things to turn the way they do, because Emily's father, William Connelly is a billionaire and he's determined to be a part of his daughter's life; but Cassie who is struggling to make ends meet will have tough choices to face.
I liked both of our main character, Cassie and Will, they were both very well written and developed, but they were far from perfect. I kind of wanted to shake both Will and Cassie at times because of how they acted or because they were being stubborn but at their core they just really wanted what was best for Emily, and they were both good people. It was easy to care for them but also for Emily, who was also a great character.

Since we have an unlikely pairing, it's nice to read about their ups and downs and how their relationship starts to develop. I think this is a story that can get the reader hooked from the very start and just finish the book with a smile on their face.

I just couldn't get in to it.
I was bit bored, tempted to skip, struggled to finish it.

William Connelly is rich, confident and powerful. He also just found out he is a father to 13 year old Emily. With money, power, confidence and his daughter by his side, he should want for nothing else except he does-he wants Cassidy, Emily's aunt, as well.

What happens when money and power can't get William the woman he wants?

Cassidy is proud, independent as well as a protective mother to her niece. She also once had dreams that life had taken away from her. Hoping to enrich Emily's life, she reaches out to find Emily's biological father. Little does she know that he WILL enrich his daughter's life AND inspire Cassidy herself to dream again.

Will Cassidy reach for her dreams or will she let the disparity in their lifestyle stop her from trying?

I adore this book! However, it frustrated me a little when Cassidy was hot one moment and the next so cold.

With that being said, this book also made me smile and shed tears. In my opinion, the characters were real and relatable. The dynamic between Emily, Cassidy and William was well developed and written. I also loved the slow burn relationship between Cassidy and William. It made their relationship plausible.

Excerpts

"You can be confused about chinchillas, and I'll be confused about why you pay some guy a thousand dollars an hour to talk to me about chinchillas. Deal?"

"For a moment he was sure she was about to turn away, but she stayed still, and he turned his hand to let his fingertips trail down to the soft skin under her jaw, then to her neck. Another frozen moment, and then her head tilted back, just a little. His question had been subtle, and so had her answer. Maybe her mind wasn’t even aware of it, but her body was, and he lowered his head until their lips joined at the perfect angle"

Will Connelly never expected have a 13 year old daughter. He has missed so many milestones with Emily that it drives a wedge through his heart. Attempting to forge a relationship with Emily he becomes closer to her only remaining guardian Cassidy. Walking on shaky ground he strives to do everything he can and be a wonderful father. Will something bloom between him and Cassidy as he gets to know his daughter better finally giving him the family he needs to balance out his professional life? Great story of two unlikely people coming together supporting the one they love.

This book has some funny and odd moments between the characters but it is missing something. Maybe Cassidy needs to be less hostile towards him, maybe she needs to actually show she likes him for more than sex, it is just missing the emotional connection between them. There is so much focus on Emily and building the relationship with her and her father that we are missing the build up. Cassidy needs to let loose and stop being so uptight over everything, it was pretty awful to read when she put everything down, withdrew from even trying to be part of the New York scene she just wanted go her own way and hell with everyone else. She is missing the like ability factors for a character, and I really did want her to be alone and miserable in Texas. The ending was ok, nothing spectacular or special. Overall, I think the book was missing something to really connect the reader to the characters.

This was much better than the standard billionaire romance because it avoided the standard clichés. The billionaire in question, Will Connelly, isn’t a heartless guy who lusts for a woman and then falls in love. That seems to be the basic plot of so many of these romances. Instead he’s just a guy who has been informed that he has a 13-year old daughter that he never knew about. She’s being raised by her aunt Cassie who discovered some pictures after her sister died that lead her to think that Will might be her niece’s father. She reaches out to him without knowing anything about him. I found that a bit difficult to believe in this age of Google. All she cares about is providing her niece with another adult to care about her. She doesn’t want money even though she’s barely making it as she runs a diner in an upstate New York town. Once Will determines that Emily is indeed his daughter, he moves temporarily to that town to get to know her and to figure out the best way to make Emily and Cassidy and himself into a family that can love and support Emily. Sure he thinks that it would be best for Cassidy to sell her diner that she doesn’t even like and move to New York City where Emily can go to a better school. But given Cassidy’s economic situation that doesn’t seem so arrogant.

Cassidy will do anything for her niece and she doesn’t feel comfortable imagining a forever romance with someone so different from her. She thinks ahead to what Emily will think of her in the future and what her life would be like if she allows herself to turn into Will’s pensioner and casual fling.

While they are a very unlikely pairing, I was interested to find out how they resolve the conflict and thoroughly enjoyed the slow revealing of their true characters. These are two good people who want to make the right decision to help a 13-year old grow up to be the fine person she seems set to become. Their focus was basically unselfish and loving which made their romance seem much more believable since they both cared to do the best thing.

I was given a free ARC of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Billionaire Will Connelly discovers he is the father of a 13 year old daughter when her aunt, Cassie Frost approaches him. Cassie's sister Penny was a free-spirit and never told anyone who was the father of her daughter Emily but Cassie pieces it together from old photos and approaches a complete stranger.

But instead of responding in person Mr Connelly sends a trio of hard-faced lawyers to meet Cassie.

Will Connelly is beyond mad that his daughter was kept a secret and he doesn't appreciate being lied to by her aunt, but underneath it all they are both reasonable people who only want what's best for Emily. So a truce develops, Will spends much of his time in Lyonstown, upstate New York getting to know his daughter, but he can't seem to stop himself from trying to 'fix' everything: from Cassie's job to her home.

Cassie has given up pretty much everything in order to help her sister look after Emily before her death and since. Her dreams of being a vet, of training horses have all been sacrificed and she runs a tiny diner. All she has left is the love for her niece and her pride which that arrogant billionaire seems determined to trash.

I enjoyed this, although Cassie had a few self-esteem issues (and who wouldn't when confronted by a gorgeous billionaire) she could also take criticism and accept when she was wrong. Similarly, Will might keep riding roughshod over Cassie but he does it with the best of intentions and is truly sorry when the error of his ways is pointed out to him (again).

Also, huge plus for me, this didn't quite go where I thought it was going which was a nice surprise. Romance is so predictable at its most basic level that a few surprises along the way are good.

Now, since Will has a number of single male friends I predict that this will become a series, will it be Trevor?

This is one hell of a book. Talk about "I didn't see that coming" nothing in this book is a given. It's not your typical rich dad finds his kid book. Not a chance. This book is intense, emotional and with it's cast of characters a really great story and fantastic read. It's visceral. I felt every emotion throughout the whole book and yes I wanted to kick Will in the backside on more than one occasion. As much as he tried, he just couldn't leave things alone. Thank God for his friends, otherwise I'm sure aside form losing his mind, he'd have lost Em and Cass as well.
Cass is strong and I love a writer who can write a strong woman lead, but also writing a strong 13 year old? Perfection! Em is an amazing kid. Both of them are in this life together and without giving too much away, she even manages to help her biological Dad get his act together.
I'm keeping this short because saying too much gives the story away. I'm just going to say that Cate has written a fantastic story, one that will keep you glued to the pages and feeling every emotion that Cass and Em go through.
Don't miss this one. It's a fantastic book. Great story Cate!!

Loved this book! Casey is a single parent to Emily, the niece she has sacrificed everything for and loves more than life itself. Casey put her dreams away when her sister came home pregnant and without the father in sight. When she died suddenly, Casey became a single parent working desperately to keep things afloat while raising her daughter. When she finds Will's information in her sister's things, Casey reaches out to him and is stunned when her tentative inquiry is returned with an aggressive lawyer's visit and things quickly spiral out of control.

This novel got me hooked from the first page and kept me engaged until the very last page. I loved the characters and felt invested in their story. Fans of the genre will love this book and will want to put it at the top of their TBR list.
