I received a free copy of this from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Let me start by saying that I am Canadian. I also had no idea that Canada had it's own superhero until now. So I was very interested and excited to see this comic when it came up.

Now I didn't hate it, but I also didn't love it. I think I'm at a disadvantage because I didn't read any of the original works. I was definitely confused because it seemed to jump all over the place, there were too many story lines, and it was a bit of a jumbled mess. I really just wanted to get through it and be done with it. That being said, once I got towards the end, it started to get a bit better. Maybe I just got used to the writing style.
I also really enjoyed certain aspects of it. The artwork was great. The characters crack me up with their Canadianisms (words, phrases, etc) and Kebec's name, character, manner, and outfit crack me up every time even though I believe she's supposed to be a bit of a badass. I also really like seeing my home in comic form; there's just something really cool about it.
So this was just ok for me. I'm going to give the second one a shot and see what happens.

This is one helluva mess. No, actually it's an unreadable mess. In fact, scratch that - it's a derivative, unreadable mess. Snake Plisken is the baddy, Amanda Waller is in charge of the hero, and it all goes to pot before the second issue is up. I'll be touching anything from this publishing house with a long-handled broom after this and the Pathetic Lizard Turd they also gave us.
