I loved the Dragonian series and I devoured book 1, “Moonbeam”, in the spin off series Beam. And when I found out that there would be a whole book from Blake’s POV i was so excited. Finally we where given the opportunity to learn more about the Rubicon, his feelings towards Elena and, of course, the darkness he has inside. So I couldn’t wait to start reading the book, my expectation high. And it was just as brilliant as I thought it would be. Mind, this not a YA story, there is a lot of cussing, mention of sex and Blake. Let’s just say....he is not a nice person or dragon. I wanted to slap him, throttle him, scream at him. But I also wanted to hug him, hold him, tell him to hold on. He is so dark and twisted and just not a likable person, at all. I think it is a good thing that this version, the Blake version, of the story about Pageia is published now, after we have got to know him as a loving, caring partner of Elena. And if you are reluctant to read this book because you think it’s the same old story of Elena & Blake, just seen with Blake’s eyes - be assured it’s not. Read it and you’ll see it is so much more and so special. I chose to read this book and all opinions in this review are my own and completely unbiased. Thanks to NetGalley and Fire Quill Publishing!
