I've read several books from Lora Leigh and usually finish them in a day. This book, however, I've started and stopped several times since I received it. I had to reread the beginning a couple of times (and I've read the series this is a spin off from). It was okay but I don't think this is a series I will continue in the future.

Thank you St. Martins Paperbacks and NetGalley for the advanced copy to read and review.

Lora Leigh is one of my must read writers. I have read all of her books. Although this one isn’t my faborite, it was still a great and steamy read and it is one I will read again! I recommend it highly!

I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review of this book. Boy was this book steamy! This is the story of Amara and Riordan. She is kidnapped and loses a year of her life. She goes to find him so that she can reclaim that year and the man that she has dreamed was her lover as well. Sparks, heat, and danger abound in this book. Riordan is her bodyguard and must make sure that Amara stays alive as there are multiple threats against her life. This is a great start to a new series.

I wanted to love it, I really did. I have read most of Leigh’s Romantic Suspense novels and loved them. This one just wasn’t up to par for me even though the writing was good- not great and the plot held my interest- I could have easily set it down and picked it up a week later.

Overall, I enjoyed the story. However, there were numerous typos, grammatical errors and just plain difficult to follow sentences, forcing the reader to reread areas, attempting to ensure comprehension of the author's intent. Also, the author utilized the same terms so many times throughout the book that it became monotonous. Each time I encountered one of the words or phrases, I found my thoughts drifting to other ways in which the author could have described the scenario. Finally, I did not like when, so many times throughout the book, the story told us things, rather than creating a picture full enough for us to "see" for ourselves whatever it was that she was trying to convey. For example, the descriptors of the hero as being "alpha" and in control. I have noticed a trend in modern romance novels, in which the author tried to create an over the top alpha hero but makes him do and say things, so as to be politically correct. What? I have been reading romance novels for most of my life and, through my readings, have encountered some very unpc heroes. But, guess what, the authors of those old-school stories did not have to label their heroes as "alpha" anything. Oh, no, we just knew, through their actions. So, please modern authors, if you wish to create a truly alpha hero, just give us one! But do it so that we recognize him for his behavior, not because you told us.

Anyway, there were many unanswered questions in the book. I saw on Amazon that this book was the first in a two book series. Hopefully, the second book will answer some of the questions not addressed in this one. I wanted to know more about her father and his history. The end, with numerous twists, wrapped up nicely but felt unsatisfying. I do not want to give away anything, as I did not apply a Spoiler Warning to this review.

I wanted to love it but it reads like all her other books. That’s not a bad thing but I wanted something new.

This was a great story. I was immediately pulled in with the story and enjoyed every bit of it. From the moment you meet these characters and the situation they are in you know you’re gonna be in for a ride.

There are several events that keep pulling you in and connecting you more and more to the characters. You will end up with a little book hangover. I know I didn't want this book to end. Will read again. This was a full story with no cliffhangers, but that won’t stop you from wanting more and I can’t wait for the next installment.
4.5 Stars

Lora Leigh's explosive new series takes off with a blast of action. Collision Point opens during a high stakes rescue mission to save Amara Resnova. Months later she can't remember a year of her life and has the overwhelming sense of loss. When Riordan Malone steps back into her life as bodyguard, those hidden memories start to resurface and the question of who kidnapped Amara is closer to being answered.

The story pulled me in because I wanted to know what was so traumatizing that Amara forced herself to forget. The road to recovery was extremely emotional and will definitely drag a few tears from you! While I know this is a spinoff from one of her earlier series, I went into Collision Point never having read any related stories. It was a bit hard to get into a rhythm with this story because it jumped in like I was supposed to know who was who, and then later it explained who certain characters are and their role in the series. That didn't take away from the story, but I wasn't forewarned so it through me off a bit. Once I got into the story, I couldn't put it down! Amara and Rory are such strong-willed characters and their love is so passionate it nearly set fire to my tablet!

Focusing on Amara and Riordan's struggle back to each other, and the mystery of who targeted her, kept me gobbling up the pages. Brute Force brings on the sexy with strong, alpha heroes and fierce, beautiful heroines! I have to say that I'm looking forward to more from this series and Lora Leigh!

HOLY COW! I was glued to this book! Action, mystery, heat, and more. The story of Amara's kidnapping and memory loss, as well as who wants her dead had me on the edge of my chair the entire time. Riordan wants Amara to remember. Remember him and remember what happened when she was kidnapped and what happened before. Amara is strong and sassy, I love her personality. Riordan is a typical Irish man who is tough, deadly, and knows who is his. There were twist that I did not see coming and was in complete shock.
This is the first book by Ms. Leigh I have read but it will not be the last. (Runs out to purchase others now)

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book

As a fan of the Breed series I was pretty excited to get this book. Fast paced and sexy as hell, you can practically feel the heat and tension between the two main characters. The one thing that irritated me was how whiny Amara is at times because she really seems like a brat that needs a good spanking. The characters are vibrant and the writing descriptive about them without too much fluffy world building (you know they're mafia, it's clear, you don't need it spelled out). I haven't read the other series so I was unaware that this was a spin-off but frankly I don't think it mattered - it's perfectly fine as a standalone.

It's been a little while since I enjoyed a Lora Leigh as much as I enjoyed this one! Great tension, fabulous characters, and a plot that is as twisted as a pretzel. It took me a little bit to get into it, but once I was settled it was fast-paced, action-packed, and filled chemistry that leapt off the page.
Looking toward to the next book in this series.

❤~🌟~❤ 4.5 PULSE POUNDING STARS!❤~🌟~❤

Holy wowww! COLLISION POINT, the first riveting installment in the brand new Brute Force series by Lora Leigh was all kinds of awesome! It's a HYPER SEXY, HIGH OCTANE, ADRENALINE PUMPING romantic suspense tale that had my pulse racing and my panties melting from start to finish! Although this is my first novel by this New York Times bestselling author, it will most definitely not be the last!

THE STORY:
Amara, daughter of a nefarious crime lord Ivan Resnova, was kidnapped and severely beaten six months prior and was rescued by her bodyguard/lover Riordan Malone and his Brute Force Protection Op team. But the trauma wiped away all her memories of that ordeal—including her entire relationship with Riordan.

Now the present story opens with the terrified amnesiac seeking Riordan out in West Texas after having vivid nightmares that lead her to believe her life is in danger and that she and Riordan share a past. At first he is enraged to see Amara, still ticked at how she broke things off with him at her overbearing “poppa’s” bidding , and he angrily rebuffs her. But she digs in her heels , begging the tall, strong, impossibly sexy operative for his help, and stuns him into silence when she tells him about her memory loss—and her fragmented dreams where he promised to keep her safe at all costs. Dreams that eerily match his own nightmares about this beautiful, infuriating woman who he has not been able to eradicate from his system.

Once Riordan realizes that Amara is indeed in grave jeopardy, the thought of her in harm’s way arouses his every primal, protective instinct, and he lays a feverish kiss on her lips that leaves her breathless! Afterwards, he agrees to give her his 24/7 protection, provided she follows his instructions to the letter, and they join forces to unravel her memories and smoke out the bad guys who are trying to kill her. As the stakes grow higher, passion EXPLODES between them, and they are thrown in a collision course with danger and destiny. But will unspeakable peril permanently tear them asunder?

MY MUSINGS:
Gah! There's so much to exalt over in regard to this book! If you enjoy sizzling hot romantic suspense tales featuring a hot, dominant alpha protector and a fiery yet achingly vulnerable heiress in jeopardy who fight tooth and nail for their love amid a backdrop of immense danger, then COLLISON POINT is guaranteed to titillate! Although this is a spinoff title from Lora Leigh’s Elite Ops series, I can fully attest that this book reads fine as a standalone.

COLLISION POINT is chock full of so much DELISH! From page one, I was sucked in by the vibrant characterizations, the alluring narrative, the edge of your seat dramatic urgency, and the emotionally charged intensity of this heart-gripping tale! It’s packed to the gills with love, suspense, treachery, murder, mayhem and, of course, a plethora of blazing hot erotic encounters! And as the mounting danger reaches a fever pitch…so does the passion!

I love me a possessive and fiercely protective hero…and OMG did Riordan have it going in! “Savagely hewn, rough and sexy, and a cowboy to boot,” he not looked smoking hot packing heat, but was WICKED DOMINANT in the bedroom!!! Can’t get much more D.E.L.I.C.I.O.U.S than that! And Amara was a dream heroine! I cherished her strength and bravery, fire and grit, as well as her aura of fragility and aching vulnerability.

The chemistry positively crackled between Amara and the uber commanding protector of her dreams who vows to keep her safe AT ALL COSTS. I loved the torturous push pull and the throbbing sexual tension between these former flames--and although this dynamic duo just DRIPPED with red hot lust for each other, there was a soul deep, visceral connection between them too that truly struck a chord. One thing’s for sure….Riordan certainly met his match in this feisty, dark-haired beauty who roused the ferocious warrior in him and pity the man who dares to harm what's his!!

The suspense and mystery is layered in wonderfully with the romance, and the author served up plenty of red herrings to keep us guessing! Additionally, the story was supplemented by a superb cast of secondary players. Ms. Leigh not only wove the characters masterfully into the overarching plot (including familiar faces from the Elite Ops series) but brilliantly planted the seeds for future stories! And oh how I ADORED Grandpops—the wise, roguishly charming Irish patriarch of the Malone clan was a total scene stealer! Ultimately, there truly was not a dull moment in this riveting, action packed plot that finally culminates in a pulse pounding climax that left me spellbound!

BOTTOM LINE:
I relished every moment of COLLISION POINT, and cannot wait for the next heart-gripping installment of Brute Force!

This is a great beginning to the Brute Force series by new-to-me author Lora Leigh with a gripping, fast-paced plot that had my heart pounding as I was turning the pages faster than ever to see what was going to happen.

I loved the sizzling chemistry and panty-melting romance between Elite Ops agent Riordan Malone and Amara Resnova, daughter of a Russian crime lord.

Collision Point should be read by anyone who enjoys steamy, action-packed romantic suspense. I received a free advance copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley and this is my unbiased review. I liked the book so much, I purchased a copy to read again later.

I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
I did not realize that this is a spin off, but as I had read some of the
Elite Ops books, it was okay. This is a fast paced, romantic suspense.
Very well written

Collision Point features a hot and steamy romance in the middle of an intense romantic suspense story. The suspense will have readers on the edge of their seats from the very first page, as the action begins with the dangerous rescue of a crime lord’s daughter from her father’s deadliest enemies. After the rescue goes haywire in multiple directions, the story picks up six months later, as Amara Resnova goes looking for the man who saved her life - but whom she has no memories of. Riordan Malone remembers everything that Amara has forgotten, including their love affair. It’s up to Riordan to find a way to protect Amara from the enemies who are still after her, while keeping her overprotective father at bay and fighting to help her restore her memories of what they are to each other, and who intended to keep them apart. It’s a race to the finish to see if Amara can bring back the memories that she has suppressed without tearing her whole world apart. And if she can let Riordan help her pick up the pieces before it’s too late.

VERDICT: Romantic suspense lovers will find Collision Point to be a spicy treat. The romance between Amara and Riordan is hot as well as tender, and Riordan is the kind of alpha hero that readers love to fantasize about. At the same time, the suspense plot with its family betrayals and connections to the Russian mafia will also appeal to readers who like their suspense with a bit on the criminal side.

Although Collision Point is the first book in the author’s Brute Force series, this series is a spinoff from the author’s Elite Ops series and features many of the characters from that series in secondary roles, so Collision Point will have additional appeal to readers of that series.

Brought to you by OBS reviewer Heidi

Amara is the daughter of an alleged former crime lord. She was abducted and severely beaten by her captors six months ago. Her bodyguard, Riordan Malone, and his men rescued her. She hasn’t seen Riordan since then, except in her nightmares of her ordeal and in the erotic dreams of them together.

Amara knows that someone is trying to kill her. There have been three incidents since her rescue, but her father thinks it’s just a coincidence and she’s being paranoid. Her fear sends her to Texas to find Riordan and beg him to help her.

It’s been hell for Riordan trying to stay away from Amara the last six months, but she refused to see him. He’s called to check on her often, but he was told she was fine. However, he knows that for the lie that it is when she shows up at his grandpop’s house looking for him, scared for her life. Amara has forgotten everything that has happened in the last year. She has forgotten that they were lovers. Nobody knew of their relationship because she didn’t want her father to know. But now that she’s come looking for him he’s ready to go back and claim her as his lover and to protect her from the danger she’s in. He won’t rest until the ones responsible for what happened to her pay with their lives. But to find out who hurt her, she must remember what happened during the abduction. He has to find a way to force her to remember, but he can’t push her too hard or he could lose her forever. She’s the woman who owns his soul and he’d walk into the fires of hell for her. He has died for her already, and he’d do it again in a heartbeat to keep her safe. But will she recover her memories before their time runs out?

I enjoyed this book, but I really struggled with it as well. It was the first of the series, but it read like it wasn’t and I knew I was missing something. Turns out this new series is a spin-off of Leah’s Elite Ops series, one of the few of her series that I haven’t read. If I had known that, I’d have read that series first! I still may go back and read it so that I can understand the relationship between Riordan and Nathan/Noah better. And, to also get a better understanding of the soul bonding these men share with their women! You can read this book without reading the Elite Ops series, like I did, but I do feel it would be easier to follow if you’re familiar with Elite Ops.

There was also a lot of grammatical errors that drove me a little crazy in this story, but I did read an uncorrected proof so hopefully those will be fixed in the finished release.

Riordan can be a bit of a domineering jerk at times, but he loves Amara and will do anything to see her safe and happy. He will stand up to her father and stand between her and those who want to do her harm. It has to be hard to love someone who doesn’t remember they were in a relationship with you so I feel for him in that regard. I think he handles his reclaiming of her wrong at times, but I know he means well.

I do love Riordan’s family. Noah and his grandpops are great, and both men are determined to help Riordan get back what is his and making sure he doesn’t mess it all up pushing too hard. I’m much more interested in the relationships between different characters than a lot of other things that happened in this book, and I want to see more of those relationships!

I found the first half of this book to be kind of a repetitive. Riordan pushing Amara sexually, to have to retreat once Amara starts to get into it or when she realizes what’s happening and puts a stop to it. He also tries to use sex to control her, which gets obnoxious. However, by the end of the book, I couldn’t put it down! I thought I had figured out who was behind Amara’s abduction, but there was a nice couple of twists at the end that I never saw coming.

I felt this book left a lot of unanswered questions and there was no clear conclusion. They found the bad guys, but the danger didn’t seem to be completely over yet. There was never any confrontation on the fact that Ivan had somehow setup their relationship even though he acted to be against them throughout the book. I was also surprised that Amara never apologized for nearly having a certain character killed!

I was expecting there to be a big romantic happily ever after scene, but it never came. I feel there is still a lot of story to tell with this couple and I can’t wait to see what happens next in the series!

You have got to read this one! What a crazy ride this book is. And the characters are fantastic. The fact that Amara is such a strong woman to her strong lover Riordan makes it even better! And on my these Irish guys. If you want some sizzle it's in here. I cannot wait to read the next one.

I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Great start to a new series. This is a sexy read! I love suspense romances and this is a good one. A little more on the romance side of the equation. Strong likable characters in Rory and Amara. Great chemistry. Can’t wait for the next story.

Once again, Lora Leigh has brought readers a new series, one with some very sexy, dominating and protective military men and the first book in the Brute Force series, Collision Point is a thrilling read that dominated my time until I had read every last word.

Rory and Amara are strong, vibrant characters that keep readers enthralled with their explosive relationship that has some very turbulent complications that keeps emotions high, tempers frayed and even makes silences seem packed full of tension. The attraction between the two is electrifying and readers can practical feel the sizzle and the burn as the sex scenes heat up the pages, although the “mine” aspect of Rory’s dominant alpha male personality may be a bit over the top, but then again he has good reason to be overprotective.

The plot is fast paced and full of danger and suspense that keep readers glued to the pages while the twists keep them guessing. The enemy is getting closer with several action packed moments that keep tension high as Rory and his team try to find the enemy and keep Amara alive. Amara’s emotional state and inability to remember about a year of her life adds to the suspense and thrills of the story and an unexpectedly twisted betrayal makes for an explosive conclusion.
Lora Leigh’s Tempting Seals and Elite Ops books were two of the series that I have read by her and I have been waiting for Rory’s book since I read Noah’s book and I have to say that it was worth the wait and I can’t wait to find out whose book is next in this exciting new series.

This is the first in the author’s new Brute Force series and its a great start.

When Amara, daughter of a Russian mob boss approaches Rory to protect her from someone who is trying to kill her, she doesn’t realize he was her bodyguard/lover before her kidnapping. But the intervening year is a blank-she doesn’t remember the kidnapping, her rescue, or anything else. While Rory isn’t happy that she doesn’t recall him, there’s no way he will let anything threaten the woman he loves. He returns to her father’s house, hoping to rekindle their romance while keeping her safe.

I liked Amara. She is kind, concerned about others, and is willing to stand up for herself. Rory is a suitable mate for her, strong, sure and protective.

The author takes you on a convoluted adventure ride, and draws the readers right into the story. As always Lora Leigh is a master story teller with sex scenes hot enough to leave scorch marks on your e-reader. She draws her characters with a fine hand and makes you care what happens to them. I look forward to future books in this series.
