This was a fun story about Isobel, who is independent, intelligent and fierce about not getting married. She and her family are making a trip from Scotland to London for the season. She is waiting for them to catch up. She is out riding and meets a lad, she assumes he is from the stable, but he is so much more. When she gets home ,one day her family is waiting for her and then they are off. The stable boy turns out to be Edward Nicholas Wyeth, Viscount Stirling. He has started to care for Isobel. Everybody ends up in London for the season, and he has to somehow stay away from Celia, she wants him. This story is exciting and warming.
The characters are so neat and life like. They also help keep the tale interesting. There are some hiccups in the plot but it does keep your attention and eager to keep reading. I loved the interaction between all the young people. Of course, Sabrina York never disappoints with her novels.
I received this ARC from Net Galley and voluntarily reviewed it.

Another superb addition to an already perfect series. Just when I think the author can’t come close to her previous works, she proves me wrong. This book had suspense, lots of humor and some of the most realistic and heated love scenes that I couldn’t resist being swept up in. This author never disappoints! If I could hit six stars, I would.

An average read. I liked the heroine well but sometimes she really got onto my nerves. The lad was handsome and headstrong, they made a nice couple but it was only average - read within a day.

Ms. York pens a sensual tale of a Scottish maid coming to London for her Season, meeting up with a young lord determined to stay single.
They meet in Newcastle. Neither has a clue of the other's station in life.....but upon meeting the other wants each other...desperately.
She goes on to London and he searches for her identity. As she has her season and he avoids the matchmaking mamas, their friendship and respect grows stronger.
Don't miss this craftily spun tale and it's ending.

A quick and fun historical romance with a sassy Scottish lady and her verra determined lord. This is the 5th book in the series; however, it can be read as a stand-alone novel. Both MCs are likeable and have a decent chemistry. The female lead is independent and stubborn but is willing to learn by the end. The male MC is enchanting and never gives up, I especially enjoyed that he was more comfortable with his feelings than the Scotswoman. A quick and easy read. For romance fans.

I hate these biddies. What's wrong with Scots?

Ever hear of using your words, buddy?

Poor guys. Maybe fashion some eardrums?

Lady Swofford is ugly both on the inside and the outside.

Hahaha. She's unknowingly insulting him, and it's hilarious.

No shy maidens here.

Small world. Geez, do these women even know where Scotland is? It's not deepest Africa!

How does a five-year-old have the ability to blow anything up, anyway?

He just called a lady by her first name, to her mother. Such a faux pas!

Way to be manly, Tully.

Catriona played her like a fiddle.

Can you be an archery shark?

Buh-bye, Celia. Don't let the door hit you and your mother on the way out.

Her stance on marriage is getting more and more holes.

Sex leads to babies, honey.

She didn't even say goodbye in person? What happened to the public dust-up?

Of course there are highwaymen.

How like men to have a pissing contest in the middle of an emergency.

I'm glad she got her wish in the end.

I have loved this entire series by Sabrina York but this book really tops them all. After reading about Isobel as a little girl who could blow up and castle and do things that adults would be afraid to do now we see her as an adult and ready to find a husband (at least according the everyone but her).
Isobel is one of the most interesting characters I have read in a long time and the man she thinks is a stable boy, Nick is a delight when we see how he tries to handle the feisty Isobel.
Together, they provide the most delicious story that I couldn't put down and when their Happily Ever After finally comes, you know they really deserve it.
I received an advanced copy of this book for free.

What A Highlander's Got To Do by Sabrina York is a fabulous read. Ms. York has once again captured my attention and kept me chained to my e-reader with this well-written book. Kudos to Ms. York for her amazing characters and dialog. Isobel is a sassy, feisty Scottish lass on her way to London, much to her dismay. She has no love for English Lords and wants no part of having an English husband. Nick is an English Viscount but neglected to tell Isobel when they first met. Their story is packed with drama, action, humor, sizzle and suspense. I loved reading this book, I enjoyed Isobel as a child, reading her story as an adult is total fun. I look forward to my next book by Sabrina York. What A Highlander's Got To Do is book 5 of the Untamed Highlanders Series but can be read as a standalone.
This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

Isobel and Nick 4R! Okay, childish, but these two are so darn cute together. Both have sworn off marriage, both just want to live their lives for who they are, not what they are, both have large, meddling, families, and both fall ridiculously for the other the moment they meet

These are children from previous stories from the authour, as the Noble Passions and Untamed Highlanders blend with these two. They are all grown up now, but just as devious and cunning, oh, and headstrong, as their parents were before them

Nick has always known he will someday be Duke, and his whole life, everyone around him knew it too, except for Isobel. Isobel has no use for fancy Englishmen, the ones she has met seemed too tame and weak. She loves her home in Scotland too much to ever leave it behind, it isn't even a thought she can consider

A bumpy ride in the relationship with these two, lots of meddling, and a determined suitor who won't leave Nick alone. The side characters are familiar, and new, and they add to the entire tapestry that the story is. Lots of fun, lots of sexy, and a tide of emotions to drown under!

What a Highlander's Got to Do was a delightful historical romance about a heroine determined to never settle down and the charming hero who has her rethinking her plans.

Isobel Dounreay Lochlannach has no intention of settling down, least of all to an Englishman. She values her freedom too much and has no desire to surrender to any man. When she meets a charming stable lad on her journey to London, she can't help but give in to her attraction to him thinking she'll never see him again. However Nick Wyeth is no stable lad, he's Viscount Stirling and heir to a dukedom. After his passionate encounter with Isobel, Nick is completely enamored with the Scottish lass and sets out to win the heart of a woman determined to avoid love.

What a Highlander's Got to Do is the fifth book in the Untamed Highlanders series and follows the daughter of the couple from book two in the series, Susana and the Scot. I have previously only read the first book in the series, Hannah and the Highlander, but that in no way lessened my enjoyment of this book. While I was a bit confused about who everyone was in Isobel's large family, eventually I managed to sort them out.

Isobel resents being in England and longs for the freedom she has in Scotland. She doesn't fit in very well with English women her age and would much rather be practicing archery instead of dancing. Isobel has a hard time holding her tongue when the English disparage her family and is a very headstrong and spirited young lady. She's very close with her family and adores them despite their tendency to meddle.

Nick has spent most of his life being seen for his title and the wealth he is set to inherit rather than as a person. As a result, Nick has always avoided marriage-minded ladies and the events they would attend. Nick is very close with his family and adores them immensely. He's a very charming man and can be incredibly sweet when he wants to be.

Nick felt an instant connection with Isobel and admired her fierce and independent nature. Isobel was immediately attracted to Nick but never believed anything would come from it. There are several misunderstandings on both sides as both Nick and Isobel make assumptions about who they think the other person is. After finding out the truth about each other, Isobel definitely holds a grudge more than Nick does. Nick and Isobel's relationship is very physical right from the start and gets sexier as time goes on. Nick is much more willing to admit his feelings than Isobel is and her reluctance does go on for quite a while which was the only thing I disliked about their relationship.

Overall, What a Highlander's Got to Do ended up being a very enjoyable read and I plan to read the books I missed in the series sometime soon. I definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for a historical romance with a fierce, independent heroine.

Loved this book! I loved Isobel and Nick. It was a light, easy, fun, stress free read. Although I would have liked it to be longer. I loved seeing all the couples from the previous books make cameos. I can’t wait for the next one!

LOVED this book! Nobody writes romance like the Queen of Hotness does! This is a fun and sexy historical romance that fans of the genre will love. In it, Isobel, a Scottish lass, is brought to London to have a season. However, Isobel has no interest in marrying or in London. Along the journey she meets Nick, a stable hand that catches her eye but is completely inappropriate for a member of the Peer.

This is a quickly moving romance that grabbed my attention from the very first page and kept me hooked until the last page. While this novel picks up on characters introduced in prior Highlander books, this is a stand alone novel. However, they're so good that you really owe it to yourself to read them all. The author is on my must read authors' list.

This was a light read. I liked the heroine okay (she did get on my nerves at times) but I loved the hero, he made the book for me.

Heroine, Isobel was a Scottish lass that was head strong, independent and determined not to marry, especially a English Lord.

Nick was a dream. He was strong, sweet and of course an English Lord who fell for Isobel's feisty and independent spirit.

Heroine is headed to London for the season and is trying to enjoy her last days of freedom. Isobel decides to head for the the stables for an afternoon out in the country. Nick saves Isobel (she was furiously riding her horse towards a bridge that was not safe) and she mistakenly thinks he's a stable hand.

Instant attraction sparks, mistaken identity and secret trysts ensue. Nick and Isobel in the first few chapters really are unaware of each others identy. But as they continue to meet and begin a sexual relationship feelings develop. Isobel's family suddenly decides it's time to leave for London and she is unable to advise Nick and say goodbye. Isobel comes to the conclusion thats just as well because nothing real will come of their time together. She plans to never marry. She does not want to leave her beloved Scotland to live with a foppish English Lord in London.

Weeks later the two meet in London and discover their true identities. And so begins the back and forth between the two MC. Nick begins to fall in love and Isobel does all she can to fight any feelings she has for Nick. She's angry he didn't reveal his true identity at the beginning and holds that against him for a while. But Nick, sweet, determined Nick fights for and pursues Isobel in the most sweetest and determined way.

I found this to be a light and spicy read. I didn't think there was much depth to the characters and was at times frustrated with the heroines pushing away as well as her stubbornness. The story line and plot were pretty predictable, especially the last couple chapters of the book. A okay read to pass the time.

This novel was a good read. I enjoyed the plot and the characters. There is romance and finding out that what you believed you did not want, is exactly what you needed.
Isobel Dounreay Lochlannach is a Scottish woman who is very independent, knows how to shoot, and refuses to marry, especially an Englishman. While residing at a house before heading to London, Isobel meets a stable lad, who sets her heart fluttering. Is he as wild as she is?
Nick Wyeth, Viscount Stirling, has avoided marriage minded ladies. He is the heir to a dukedom and women see him for his title, not who he is. When Isobel mistakes him for a stable lad, he is happy that she does not know who he is. He is attracted to her and her "wildness", but does not tell her who he really is. When she leaves without a word, he is determined to find her, especially after learning who she is. When Isobel learns the truth about Nick, at first she is angry with him for lying to her, even though she made as assumption about his status. However, she cannot deny the desire and passion she feels for Nick. Nick wants to marry Isobel, but she refuses. Nick tries to fins ways to woo Isobel, even using his half-Scot roots. Isobel is afraid marriage will bring complete control over her, but Nick fell in love with Isobel for who she is. Will Nick be able to convince Isobel that he loves her and plans to keep her forever or will Isobel let her fears overcome what she truly desires?

This was 100% an impulse request and it was fairly delightful.

I really liked Isobel and Nick. She’s sassy and headstrong. He’s charming and stubborn. Together they have a bit of chemistry and banter. My absolute favorite was that Nick was so determined to woo Isobel. There are loads and loads of characters in this story and I couldn’t keep track of who was related to who.

Plot wise, it was what I expected: an instant connection between strangers, a few lies by omission, some sexah times, and then the story begins. There is a bit of push and pull and maybe a few repetitive scenes, but the last few chapters were amusing and I really liked the epilogue.

Overall, it was a quick read with characters I really liked. I would have liked more of the future from the epi, but it was happy. I may look into other books.

Since my first meeting Isobel, as she calmly and accurately emptied her quiver of arrows in the library, being sure to only hit the “boring books” she’s been a strong favorite character in Sabrina York’s Untamed Highlanders series. Now, grown and in her first season, this unconventional lassie must take her turn in society’s whirl during her first season.

Isobel has long stated she’ll not marry nor entertain the idea of a British suitor, preferring her freedom and self-determination as she hunts, rides and wields her bow and arrows in the Scottish Highlands. But, with her now coming of age to make her debut, she’s been coaxed and cajoled along with her best friend Catriona to head to London for the season, her entire family in tow. With ten children under ten (siblings, nephews and nieces) she’d been allowed to stay with a family friend for a few days as the family spent time with the ailing aunt. Not finding the briskness and freedom in Newcastle that she enjoys at home, she decided on a ride – and took off with the Lord’s stallion – racing down the roads. Stopped before disaster by a man who snatched her off the horse and received an elbow to the ribs for his trouble, Isobel finds this man, Nick, amusing and intriguing – and when a kiss between them elicits a promise to meet the next day –she hies off toward home. Meeting him again, the two share kisses and more, vowing to meet each day. She’s convinced Nick, by his casual dress and manner is a simple stable boy, and he believes she a maid, a maid that he cannot ignore, and is seriously disappointed when she fails to return.

Heading to London with her family, to face an unpleasant and surely useless season, she’s unable to think of little but Nick, believing that she’ll not see him again. When the family is visited by Kaitlin (now a Duchess and friend of Lana, Hannah and Isobel’s mother Susana) and the fun begins. From the multiple Andrews, Lachlans, Edwards and a drooling toddler that is ‘handy with a sword’, the fun begins. Or mostly. For poor Isobel is often treated with a sort of curious censure…..

“She. Blew. Up. His. Castle.” Lady Frey repeated herself in a tone that inferred this was the worst thing a person could possibly do.
“She was five.” Mama shrugged dismissively. “Children will be children.”
“I’ve hardly blown up anything since,” Isobel said, agreeably.

For the English were subtle but consistent in their snubbing of the Scots – from denying Lana her due deference as a Duchess to pointedly remarking on Scottish customs, food, men and even manners. But, none of this is that bothersome to Isobel. Until she realizes that Nick, her Nick, is in fact Viscount Stirling – and his ‘Britishness” shines through. The two are on a merry dance – him denying that he wants more from Isobel than what isn’t proper, her refusing to allow him to discuss matters of import that are beyond the here and now, as she is fully intending to return to Scotland, without a husband. But when a particularly loathesome debutante has set her sights on Nick, and will stop at nothing to force his hand to marriage, Isobel steps up, claims knowledge of Nick that she shouldn’t have – and shames the petty thing away.

The twists, turns and outright laughs (some from Isobel and Nick, others from the ‘Mongol hoard’ of children that are part of the family and their particularly wild behavior, the uniqueness and solidity of this family, their friends and their determination to see that BOTH Nick and Isobel are happy just shines through. It’s wonderful to see Isobel these years later: more confident (if that was possible) than as a child, her mother and aunts all well married and happy, and her fierce determination to be just who she feels she needs to be to survive every situation is marvelous. To find that she’s also learned, if a bit late, that true love doesn’t expect, want or need her to subjugate herself to a man, and she can still be in her beloved Scotland – the story is a wonderful addition to the series giving a sense of full-circle, and making it a favorite historical series for the heart, humor and heat.

I received an eArc copy of the title from the publisher via NetGalley for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.

This is a quirky, entertaining and thoroughly delightful romance between a young Scottish woman named Isobel and a man named Nick. Isobel is a guest of a family friend at their country estate and while there she meets a very attractive young man named Nick. Not being interested in marriage, even though her parents are expected any moment to arrive to take her to London for a season, Isobel, who is rather unconventional, decides to have a fling with Nick. Isobel reasons that she finds Nick, whom she believes is a stable boy on the estate, incredibly attractive and it may be her one chance at experiencing passion, since she does not plan to ever marry. Nick is fascinated with Isobel and their little tête-à-tête is tete- hot!
Before she even has a chance to say her goodbyes, Isobel’s family, in all of their hilarity, swoop in and take her to London. It’s there she begins to miss “ Nick”. She occasionally thinks she sees or hears him in the distance, could it be him? Of course it could! That’s because “Nick” is actually not what or whom he seemed, and he’s looking for Isobel too.
This was such a fun story with a few twists and turns that were unexpected, colorful personalities that added to the plot, funny moments, and two likeable main characters. I highly recommend this book to readers of romance who enjoy a story with humor and heat with their hea.
