As a big fan of both authors, I like this series but I do not love it. The whole blood/Dracula/falcons/drones things were just a little too much for me. A little out there. But the story as a whole, character based was really good. They have a great chemistry, It was scary, witty and funny all at the same time. Not my favorite, but still a good read !

Special Agents Nicholas Drummond and Michaela Caine become involved in investigating when several political figures suddenly die in London from what was originally believed to be from natural causes when drones are spotted at the scenes of these deaths.

The story takes a strange turn when details come to light about a manuscript that leads to details regarding Dracula and twin language and one twin with a strange blood disorder.

The interaction between Nicholas and Mike along with his father and other agents was enjoyable but this was a strange one.

Special agents Nicholas Drummond and Michaela Caine are in London on vacation when they find themselves involved in the assassinations of several major political figures and The weapons used are drones!

The Sixth Day was hard for me to get into. I enjoyed all of the familiar characters, just couldn’t get into the story.

Thank you NetGalley and Gallery Books for the ARC!

The Sixth Day by Catherine Coulter and J. T. Ellison

Nicholas Drummond and Michaela “Mike” Caine are at his London estate for brief vacation. When a high-ranking political figure dies mysteriously, they are charged with the investigation. Meanwhile, there is a soon-to-be-connected mystery regarding the historical Voynich Manuscript. Dr. Isabella Marin becomes embroiled as she is an expert at the twin language associated with the Manuscript. At the bottom of all of this, is Roman Arderlean, wealthy cyber-security genius, who has a very ill twin brother. He is hoping that the secrets of this Manuscript will cure his twin.

Roman is also creating an army of drones, and he is hell-bent on using those drones to achieve whatever purpose he sets out. Anyone that will get in the way of this goal is collateral damage. This includes Nicholas and Mike, as their investigation proves fruitful from the start.

In this thrilling story, quite a bit of lore is interjected. For starters, Roman is a descendent of Romanian Vlad the Impaler, know as Count Dracula. Also, Roman is a falconer, one who artfully trains falcons. Add this to his work with drones and he is more than lethal.

This story hits the ground running, and hardly leaves you with a moment to catch your breath. I love the twists and turns that this fifth entry in A Brit in the FBI series has taken.

Cathrine Coulter and J.T. Ellison never disappoint. I just finished an ARC of The Sixth Day from Netgalley in exchange for a review. Good thing I finished reading or there would be no Easter dinner tomorrow. I could not put the book down until the end. Great tense story with the familiar characters that I have come to admire and care about from previous books in the series. This book can stand alone, but why read just one?

Interesting reading with an incredible plot! The Voynich queries are a series of notes written in an unknown and undeciphered code. In this novel a set of twins, one robust and healthy, the other a hemophiliac, have decided they hold, among other things the cure for hemophilia. They have built up a huge security firm that has created code used in most computers and by most governments. They have also built up a fleet of drones that are programmed to do their bidding along with a small flock of hunting birds that are also trained to do their bidding. The one twin wants to be cured, the other is addicted to LSD and murder. Much of the tales surrounding the Voynich queries also surrounds Dracula and, of course, leads investigators in that direction. Nicholas and Mike, our protagonists, are fun to watch and lead the reader on a wild chase. Thanks to Net Galley and Simon & Schuster for an ARC for an honest review.

The Sixth Day by J T Ellison and Catherine Coulter is a quick moving adventure story about one man’s viscous search for a cure for his rwin brother. It is another FBI thriller staring British former Scotland Yard decetive and now an American FBI agent and his beautiful partner who is also his love interest. This is the kind of book that once i start reading it i continue until the very end. Nick and Mike have so many adventures in this book that the ending becomes a releaf to see thatbthey remain alive and heakthy. It is a fun book to read

Oh wow, what a thriller of a good read. Well written and most engaging from the first paragraph. Super characters. Lots of action. Highly recommend.

I used to read Coulter’s An FBI Thriller Series and enjoyed it, so when the chance came to read this one for review, I jumped at it. I was disappointed. I had not read any in this series and that would have been fine for the story if the characters didn’t refer to events in the past and then not give any information. There is a lot of different story lines and time periods in this book and I just never could get them to work together for the story. I tried but just could not get interested in the characters.

Amazing chapter in the Nicolas and Mike adventures. With weird ancient texts and twin talk as a code, the plot was twisted and complex. Interesting glimpses of the past intertwined with present day activities. The interactions between Nicolas and his family are reminiscent of the early days of Sherlock and Savich. This series is a must read and keeps getting better. Thoroughly enjoyed!

If you haven't read the first 4 books of the Brit in the FBI series, well ... go do that and come back :) These books are so much fun to read. Coulter and Ellison are a dynamic duo when it comes to writing international intrigue for the "Covert Eyes" team.

When high-profile figures are being assassinated and a drone is spotted, the group works all available angles. Michaela and Nicholas are attacked by a drone; Michaela is able to shoot it down. The string of assassinations makes each day urgent. Meanwhile, another agent comes across information on the Voinovich papers and twin language. Before long, an enigmatic set of twins crosses their path. This case is as deadly as any they have worked before, and the danger is matched only by the intrigue as the Covert Eyes team works together to save the day.

Drama, suspense, intrigue, Catherine Coulter keeps you on the edge of your seat with this book. Awesome read!

Great FBI thriller involving the use of drones--sometimes futuristically frightening--keeping the audience in suspense as to which team would win.

I love this series by Catherine Coulter and JT Ellison. They really ramp up the intensity in this one, and it is a timely use of drone warfare that is especially intriguing.

The Sixth Day is a fast-paced action/thriller with the feel of an adventure and international crime novel rolled into one. This story is engrossing from the first page as the intrigue draws you in and keeps the pages turning with its heart pounding twists and action. The authors add a dash of paranormal with an ancient manuscript in a secret twin language. With almost magical healing properties, the manuscript is traced back to Vlad the Impaler through flashbacks that will evoke "The Da Vinci Code". The use of technology in the book to spy and commit murder is credible in a way that will feed your paranoia and have you looking over your shoulder for drones and distrusting all software. The book uses falconry in a way that is relevant and fascinating. All the elements in the book come together in a compellingly realistic, if somewhat fanatical, story that hooks the reader and wildly nourishes the imagination. As expected, another fantastic read in a splendid series written by two of the best author in the business. My voluntary, unbiased review is based upon a review copy from Netgalley.

The Sixth Day is the latest FBI thriller from authors Catherine Coulter and J. T. Ellison. The Sixth Day mixes history with fiction for a story that often has you on the edge of your seat. This is a stand alone story that makes you think about today's technology in the wrong hands. I was given an early copy to review.

A complex plot, woven across centuries and tying together the current US and British security forces with Count Dracula. The story seemed somewhat loose and rambling to begin, but the last half of the book tightens the tale and pulls the reader into the closing action. A fun and fitting addition to the Brit in the FBI series.

I thought this was a standard read even though there was lots of interesting information about drones. I imagine if you read the books with these characters in them, you would like the story.

I like this series of books, and look forward to the next one when it comes out. I liked the plot of this book, and the technological aspects of it. It was something that could happen, which makes it more frightening. However, some of the dialogue in this book is the same as Coulter started doing in the FBI series. The characters talk to each other and if they have to explain everything in a funny, joking tone. It seems forced and silly. The last FBI book got better with this, but now this book picked it up. The dialogue seems unnatural.

Scenario: A megalomaniac, LSD addicted, mad genius who has developed a security system which is currently utilized worldwide on every single computer, including governments. A militarized drone army. The Voynich Manuscript which is a mysterious, centuries-old puzzle, with its unknown language and illustrations of plants and stars. The Voynich Manuscript represents a riddle yet to be solved. Major political figures are mysteriously dropping dead on the spot. All of this and more are present in this gripping, edge-of-your seat thriller which features FBI Special Agents Nicholas Drummond and Michaela Caine in Catherine Coulter's and J.T. Ellison's fifth book in her "Brit in the FBI" series.

Twists and turns abound in this action packed thriller. I was totally riveted. Returning main characters, Nicholas and Mike are very likeable and have terrific charisma and chemistry together. The handpicked group of their whole "Covert Eyes" unit are definitely a cohesive team with an unconventional bent. The whole scenario of an increasingly unstable mad scientist having control over every computer in the world, with a silent drone army was a frightening, timely prospect. Catherine Coulter and J.T. Ellison have once again penned a thrilling murder/mystery novel. Hang onto to your seats and get ready for another roller coaster ride!
