Sarah Burrowes is trying to piece her life back together after her boyfriend ups and leaves her with no warning and a huge mortgage to pay. She dreams of being a real journalist but has to make do with the beauty column of a women’s magazine. When her boss needs to find someone to cover a massive story, Sarah manages to convince her that she is the woman for the job. Together with Nick, the magazine’s feckless photographer who Sarah also happens to have had a one night stand with, they set off for Europe in search of a lead. With little experience as a traveller and even less as an investigative journalist they chase Chris Ford from country to country and find themselves caught up in a story much bigger than they could have imagined.
Hot Pursuit is a fun read with a little bit of romance on the side. Get ready for a whistle stop tour of Europe that leaves you wanting to visit all the cities you read aboit!

Hot Pursuit is a light hearted read that is full of action and entertainment.

Our protagonist Sarah is a broken hearted journalist who has decided to take her life back into her own hands following a breakup - we follow Sarah and her colleague/photographer/ex boyfriends best friend/one night stand Nick (a dangerous combination!) on a romp through Europe as she dares to try new things and goes on an adventure of a lifetime.

Hot Pursuit is an easy and enjoyable read and just may surprise you. Not your typical chick-lit, full of witty banter and lighthearted fun. Definitely a must read for anyone who loves this genre

This was a reasonably fun light read, suitable for the poolside, and the summer hols. But I am unlikely to read it again.

After Sarah's partner runs off leaving her high and dry she is left wondering how she can cope with the mortgage and bills she has been left with. Drowning her sorrows she gets chatting to an attractive man in a bar and doesn't realise until she gets to work exactly who is is. When he disappears surrounded by rumours that he has murdered a band member she throws herself into work to try and prove herself as an investigative journalist accompanied by photographer Nick, a friend of her exes and also a previous one night stand! Their journey takes them from Australia to Europe in an effort to track down the elusive Rock Star, finally ending in Amsterdam when it becomes apparent that drug trading within a cartel is involved. This is an easy to read book with smatterings of intrigue, romance, sexual tension and most of all fun. Let's hope there's a follow up

This was such an enjoyable read. I really loved the main characters Sarah and Nick. I was expecting this to be a typical Rom Com/Chick Lit but this was so much more than that. It was an easy read with a good plot that kept you engaged and wanting more. I would definitely recommend this as a good holiday read. It flowed well and was very engaging.

A fun, escapist read, perfect for the beach.

Sarah is a frustrated journalist who is looking for her big break. Her love life is in tatters when she meets a man who may change the course of her life. A lighthearted read, but the subjects it touches are not. Sarah embarks on a trek across Europe following her story; she is naive as an investigative journalist, which produces some hilarious moments and quickly puts her in dangerous situations. Her partner in crime is Nick, the photographer, they have history, and she still has feelings for him, but they are confused, and this leads to snarky banter and sexual tension.

Sarah is a strong protagonist, and her tenacity makes sure she gets her story in the end, despite her inexperience and the numerous false leads she uncovers. Her relationship with Nick provides the story with its romance.

I received a copy of this story from Pantera Press via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

Romance mixed with investigative journalism story, of mystery and drug running, corruption and smoke screens.
An enjoyable read.

I received Hot Pursuit as an ARC from Netgalley. This book was a fun chick lit read with some mystery thrown in. Sarah writes beauty articles for a magazine but she convinces her editor to send her on an assignment for a big story. Her boyfriend has recently dumped her and the photographer who goes with her on the trip is a former one night stand. It was a fun read and I will be looking for more from this author.

Although well writen this is a rather unbelievable tale of a rookie journalist chasing around Europe to get the story she hopes will be her big break. If you can suspend belief a bit this is a good, escapist holiday read.

An enjoyable light hearted tale. What really made this book special were the lovely descriptions of the European cities. The author has the ability to transport the reader from one city to the next with ease. The story itself had its share of romance and adventure

It's an interesting book, but with almost too much going on. Some of the 'plot' is definitely far fetched. I didn't find a rapport with the main character.
Thanks to Net Galley for a free copy of this book

Overall I enjoyed the book. The Aussie characters were refreshing and the crazy plot was enough to keep it interesting. Sarah is miserable after her long term boyfriend dumps her without much warning and leaves her with a mortgage to pay on a writers salary, She wangles the opportunity to pursue a celebrity story, with Nick the agency photographer and ex-one-night stand. Cue: love interest. The story takes her all over Europe. Since she has never left Australia before she makes every tourist mistake in the book, as well as every rookie journalist mistake. This ignorance, together with headstrong stubbornness and recklessness, drove me crazy. On the one hand Sarah is resourceful with sharp instincts, and on the other hand she was stupid and thoughtless. While it was meant to be funny, it didn't quite make sense for me.

The book kept my interest throughout as Sarah and Nick travel in Europe trying to get a story for their magazine. Sarah is recovering from her partner suddenly leaving her in Australia with a large mortgage, and trying to overcome her dislike of Nick, her photographer , whilst trying to get the scoop which will secure her future as a journalist. .They become embroiled in a dope smuggling ring as they chase a well known musician accused of murder. Well written and leaves the end open for a sequel.

The story was a little bit far fetched. It just felt too predictable and I wasn't the biggest fan of the main character - although I sympathised with her situation I felt like she was more like a caricature of a women getting over a breakup.

This is a perfect summer holiday read. You find yourself really willing Sarah to succeed. A great little page turner that is both inspiring and empowering. I really enjoyed it.

A good, entertaining, easy read. Sarah is chasing a story across Europe in a bid to make her name known. She has lied her way into this assignment and needs to get a story to keep her job. This is a lighthearted funny story that is a quick and easy read.

Thank you to Netgalley for my copy.

Sarah is a beauty journalist who persuades her boss to send he abroad for an investigative piece. Sarah 8s accompanied by
Nick the photographer and the dynamic between them is an enjoyable element to the story
We get to visit a variety of cities throughout Europe as the trail Sarah is following heats up. And whilst she’s not an experienced investigative journalist she does achieve results!
An enjoyable book with a slightly darker side which adds to the story considerably.

A kick-ass heroine here in a really nicely written fun story. So our heroine is exiting - still - a bad relationship with a not so good guy, when she finds herself travelling for her work - being a journalist.

Except that her boss doesn't really think she is suited to the job as her previous career experience (despite her degree) had been in beauty therapy ie hair-dressing, and that was her current writing slot at the mag.

She gets sent abroad to investigate with a really hot camera man and things take the usual course. But are complicated by the rock star she manages to befriend and various shady activities. Nothing goes right, but works out well in the end.

Based in Australia, it makes a nice change of dialect for me, and brings back memories of my visit there too.

Surprisingly better than I’d expected from the opening chapters. Whilst Sarah seems flighty and vacuous, things develop once she’s in search of her story. Moved along at a fair old pace, so the descriptions of the locations were scant but this didn’t really detract from the story.

A fast paced read with an easy style that really became more enjoyable as the story progresses. 4*

This a rather amusing chick lit stroke thriller. Sarah Burrowes is a journalist for a gossip magazine. When the magazine get a hot tip on a story of a musician and murder, Sarah is determined to be the journalist covering the story as she knows and met the musician, Chris Ford on a girly night out. Hereby follows a madcap journey around Europe to hunt him down and get the story. There is a hint of romance and story a little unbelievable as an inept and immature Sarah becomes a Jane Bond!!
