Sarah has been dumped by her boyfriend. She is dragged out by her friends to drown her sorrows, which is where she gets chatting to someone that she kind of recognises. This someone turns out to be a famous pop star that later that night goes on the run after being accused of murdering his band mate.

Somehow, Sarah’s boss agrees to let her cover the story – except she has to work with Nick the photographer. This is Nick, who Sarah once had a one-night stand with and is also best friend of Sarah’s ex.
Neither Sarah nor Nick are happy about being thrown together and having to tramp all over Europe in search of the pop star but they suck it up and get on with the job.

This was a very far-fetched story but if you can suspend belief this is a light-hearted easy read that does exactly what it says on the tin.

Sarah is a journalist who meets Chris on a night out. She doesn't realise he is a rockstar. A story has broke and because she had a connection with him, she persuades her boss to promote her to full journalist status so she can be the first to scoop the story of him being accused of killing his best mate in the band. Across Europe she goes with her photographer, Nick - a past one night stand and also the best friend of her ex. The story had me gripped and the romantic energy between Nick and Sarah sparked off the page. Sarah brings down the drug cartel (sometimes a little far fetched.) If you can expend disbelief in a few places, this is a fun book with a great romantic spark and keeps your interest. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for letting me review this book.

The story was a little bit far fetched but not unenjoyable. The whole narrative feels like it's written in the style of a 1920s detective, using very short sentences throughout.
A good cat and mouse chase through Europe and like I said not unenjoyable. A good read in the end.

Firstly, thanks to netgalley and Pantera Press for the opportunity to preview this fun read.

It's light and fluffy and if that's your bag, you'll love it. For me, not so much. It opens with the main character drowning her sorrows in a bar with some friends after being dumped by her other half who has left her mortgaged to the hilt and in debt. She works for a magazine and after meeting a member of a band who then purportedly goes 'on the run' she wangles the journalism job of tracking him down for the big story.
There then follows a dash across Europe with a photographer who just happens to be the best friend of her ex....it was all too easy for me and although it was at times a humorous read, it just felt too fluffy. and predictable.

An easy holiday read.

I raced through this book I found it enjoyable fast paced and good fun. The main character is relatable and muddled her way through her career and life but does know what she wants and so goes for it. The crime solving was a bit silly but I took this as a romance with crime on the side and so let it go when the landlords /cartel were considerate to just try and scare her off or drug her to sleep rather than kill her.
A great summer read though for the beach or by the pool

I would like to thank Pantera Press and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read ‘Hot Pursuit by Rebecca Freeborn’ in exchange for my honest opinion and unbiased review .

I really struggled with this story. I did not find the plot very believable-
A girl/lady Sarah’s life is not going great, she meets a pop star who’s on the run who she thinks she can help him. Travels all over Europe with him in the while men are chasing them.
Sarah was a bit airy fairy. Not my kind of main character

This book was great and one for the beach. Fun characters and ended as you would hope.

I enjoyed the writing and would read more by Rebecca.

An easy, light hearted read. When life hurtles dramatically out of control Sarah needs to take drastic action. I didn't warm particularly to our protagonist, Sarah, although as the book went on this did change a little. Situations and events are both unlikely and bizarre by turn, although, after all, this is fiction. Overall light enjoyable holiday reading.

Excellent romp across Europe. Love, detective work, mysteries it's all here! Thoroughly enjoyed this!

I wasn't sure if I was going to like this book inititally but I'm really glad I carried on with it. The plot is a murder mystery but the cover is more chick lit/rom com so I was curious as to whether the two could meet in the middle and they definitely did. It's not a thriller as it's a much lighter read than that that, despite Sarah's pursuit of a murder suspect being the main gist of the story. I would describe it as a rom com with a slightly darker tone and a fairly unbelievable plot at times but that added to the comedy part of the rom com factors. I enjoyed this book and found it a great, light hearted read with a bit of mystery.

This was a lighthearted fun read! There were a few times where I could see what was coming, but still the book kept me hooked from page 1 until the end.

I wasn't sure at first if I was going to like this book, it is a pretty far fetched storyline and the characters did not seem particularly likeable. As Sarah and Nick move around Europe's capitals, however, you do find yourself enjoying their characters and the unfolding of the plot. I would read another book with them in.
An undemanding, summer read.

Really sorry have persevered with this but find it so unlikely that had to give up 2/3rd way through.
Struggled caring about main characters or believe in much of the action
Maybe just wasn't for me

Ms Freeborn writes a fabulous hybrid of rom-com-thriller-murder mystery in her 'Hot Pursuit'.
We follow the cute, totally clueless and hopelessly in love with her ex beauty girl Sarah and the swooooooooon Nick in their hot pursuit of their 'big story' the missing musician and the murderer through the picturesque Europe!

I can totally see this on the big screen (even have my own star cast and everything)
Loved the banter between Sarah and Nick... andthe delightful supporting characters added to their story.

Chris Ford and the *spoiler* staemy first scene deserves a special mention IMO ;D
The cover totally satiates the cover junkie in me!
4 stars!
~Thanks to Netgalley and Pantera Press for my ARC~

I liked this one in the end, even though I had a hard time getting through the first couple of chapters.
I didn't like Sarah in those chapters, very whiny and incredibly naive. The story line seems a bit far fetched, and even though there are a lot of cities that are part of the story, they do not add to the story. Could have been a 'Hot Pursuit' all the way through Australia...
Have to say that once the story got to Paris, I had warmed up to Sarah and enjoyed her interactions with Nick. And had a bit more trouble putting the book down. From Paris on, this book has a better pace and was far more enjoyable to read. Would recommend this for a quick summer read.

Sarah’s boyfriend has disappeared and left her paying the bills. She’s sick of writing puff pieces for the magazine she works for. One night she meets a man everyone else recognised but she’s none the wiser. Little does she know this meeting will be the springboard into a chase across Europe with her previous one night stand.

My opinion of this book changed whilst I was reading it. Initially I thought it was slow and didn’t really have a direction however the last third of the book made me realise this was a clever layering of plot lines which made the ending very exciting. Overall it was good. Some of the stories lines feel quite superfluous however for a quick read this summer it’s worth a go.

Not sure if this was meant to be a comedy but it made me laugh all the way through. I loved the relationship between Sarah and Nick. The story was very far fetched but enjoyable

Wow! I cannot believe this is a debut book, it was such an enjoyable read. From the beginning I loved Sarah, and I can see how Rebecca has to tell herself she's not real. I love good chick-lit and crime books, this one was a fusion of both. It made me laugh, smile, and I loved the adventure, and I didn't guest the twist at the end.. The dialogue between Nick and Sarah was brilliant, I felt like I was living through the ride with them. I cannot wait for the next book, and I hope it involves Sarah. I'm finding it hard to write this review, as I don't want to give a single thing away. All I will say to conclude is, thank you, this is a fantastic read, and I couldn't put it down.

Meet Chris Ford, rockstar;Sarah, the would be serious journalist;Nick, the professional photographer. Mix in a drugs cartel, romance , a descriptive journey around Europe and you have a rom/com thriller to keep you entertained over the summer.
Sarah is a feisty character who comes to realise that actually, the "I can" attitude not only works in her professional life but in her love life too.
An entertaining tale with some far fetched unbelievable twists but worth reading.
