A second chance, small-town romance with sweet vibes. When a single mom reconnects with her high school flame will her life finally be complete?

Family issues, secrets, a love of baseball, and a chance to finally figure out what matters most.

If you want a book based on a movie ... give this a go.

In the small town of Parker Falls, Jessica Parker spends her time serving pie and coming up with ideas to save the failing diner she inherited from her grandfather. A single mom to eight-year-old Wesley, she has enough to keep her busy well into the future. But when her old high school love, Chase Taynor, unexpectedly pops up, Jess finds herself thinking not of the future but of her past with the handsome professional baseball player.

Great book! I loved this adaptation from the Hallmark movie! Definitely an author I'd read more from! I'm not a big sports fan other than football but I love sports themed romance novels weird I know.

The chemistry between Jessica and Chase is palpable. LOVED IT!

I received this book in exchange for an honest review. You can get your copy here: https://www.amazon.com/Perfect-Catch-Hallmark-Channel-Original-ebook/dp/B07KXY4W3P/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=the+perfect+catch&qid=1595859507&s=books&sr=1-2
This is a book based on a movie. Yup, you heard that correctly. Book based on MOVIE! I read the book before I had seen the movie and it translated as well on screen as it did on the page. I LOVE me some Hallmark. This book did not disappoint! I love me the light and fluffy books! They give you all the feels without too much drama and no horror. This book begins in Hometown Diner with Jessica Parker, a waitress daydreaming. Jessica was not only a waitress, but the owner of the diner. She had taken it over from her grandfather. Thankfully to his policy of only serving what is on his menu, when her son orders a double burger with fries, extra pickles, cupcakes and a mega-gulp soda, she has an out! Nina, Jessica’s best friend from high school, also fellow waitress points out that Jessica’s ex is on TV, AGAIN! It was a baseball game clip of Chase blowing the game for the Boston Sox. Jessica interrupts the comments about her ex to take her son to baseball practice. Ironic, right? We learn how Wesley, Jessica’s son isn’t the best baseball player, but ends up getting an unexpected surprise and the best coach ever! Jessica also ends up getting a nice surprise in the baseball coach. They both learn to trust again and to love again. This book is just what we needed right now!

This book was a little bit different than what I usually read. It was a very sweet small-town romance. I love small town romances even though that one was pretty clean. It was about old high school sweethearts and second chances.

Chase came home to recover after his career took an unexpected turn. He visited his parents and reconciled with Jess, who is now a single mother. He gets along well with her son too.

What I missed was more romance. Even though it was really cheesy – definitely like a Hallmark movie – I was hoping for more connection between MCs. The sparks were definitely there though.

I would watch this as a movie but as for a book, it went a little slow for more in the middle of the book.

3.5 – 4 stars.

A pretty satisfying romance novel even though it was a bit too innocent and predictable. This would be an excellent choice for those who are more conservative in their romance reading choices.

I am a really sucker for anything Hallmark. I will say there are a few story line that are my favorite and this is one of them. I really love it when life is put into perspective and we remember where we come from. When we realize what is realy important in life and what we want. I guess we all need a reality check at times. This book did all of that for me. I loved the characters. Jessica is a great mom to a sweet boy who loves baseball. Chase, Jessica former high school sweetheart, is an over work and under appreciated pro baseball player who needs a break from the lime light. As they work together sparks start to fly. But is it to good to last.........

Like all Hallmark Publishing books I absolutely adored this book! It doesn't hurt that Chase is charming, sweet and good looking (I'm going based on the movie here). Jessica's character is very protective of her son and just wants to have a great life but she's missing one thing, love. Enter, Chase. As they spend more time together they realize feelings might be arising, but are they meant to be? If you love romance and Hallmark, you'll love this book!

Sweet, clean romance that expands on the movie. No bad language, no offensive elements, just a nice story.

This was a cute romance. It seemed to drag out a bit for me. I feel like it was better as a movie than a book. Overall I did like it.

THE. PERFECT. CATCH. By Cassidy. Carter
Jessica’s life now was the diner and her son Wesley. When Chase comes back to town, fifteen years later after leaving to seek a career in baseball. Can their be a future for them, only for him to leave again. As always Hallmark stands for family, the value and the love was again shown in this delightful story. Readers will enjoy Chase taking time to teach her son, while he too learns the joy of giving. Given ARC.by Net Galley and Hallmark for my voluntary review and my honest opinion.

I didn't get a chance to download before the archive, but I do plan to purchase the book and review it here more in depth once I have finished it. Hallmark holds a special place in my heart along with baseball. For now, I will leave a five-star review since I already know I will love it. I will update if anything changes that review.

This was such a sweet book and I would definitely watch the movie. Chase and Jessica were high school sweethearts until Chase left to play ball but Jessica did not want to leave her family and they have not seen or spoken in the last 15 years now he is back in town and she is a single mum struggling to keep her dinner open. When they bump into each other again they still have lots of chemistry but can they move past the past.

I absolutely loved this book. It gave me the sense of home. There are those that truly are meant to be together. No matter the circumstances, the mistakes, failures or successes, the universe has a way to bring them back together. My favorite part was his dad's advice. "Sometimes when things seem hard, they really aren't." Life, love, family. This book shows the best in everyone. Loved it. And fate was on my side. I finished reading it last night and it was on Hallmark movies today. I'm so blessed to see the movie right after reading this great story.

If you like Hallmark movies you HAVE to read this book! Its based on a Hallmark Channel Original Movie and it was great.

The Perfect Catch is a sweet second chance single parent romance. It was a sweet romance that kept me reading to see how their story would end up. It was a bit predictable, but you can't really expect anything else from a book based on a Hallmark movie. But that really is part of the reason we read or watch those movies. I want to read a book that I know will end in a happy ever after and I was not disappointed.

If you are looking for a sweet small town romance with a happy ever after you have to read The Perfect Catch.

For those who love baseball, small towns, and a young boy in need of a father, this story will pull at your heartstrings and make you laugh, cry, and swoon. With most Hallmark stories, this book follows the movie of the same title fairly well, adding a bit to fill out parts we see on the screen. It is a great story of finding one's self and finding a family in a town you didn't want to be in, in the first place. A heartfelt tale!!

Hallmark hit it out the park with another sweet, romantic book! This is the perfect book to read in the springtime and it's perfect for fans of baseball, although you do not have enjoy baseball to enjoy this book. These Hallmark books are wonderful for light reading and I love how they provide insight to the characters that the movies can't give you. I also, love that these books provide clean romance so they can be enjoyed by readers of multiple ages! Do yourself a favor and pick up this book!

The Perfect catch is about second chance romance. Chase and Jessica was highschool sweethearts but they went different directions in life. Chase went to be a Pro baseball player and Jessica is running a restaurant that she inherited and taking care of her son. These book is based on a Hallmark channel original movie . I thought it was well written and kept my interest. I received this book by the publisher through Net Gallery in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Net Gallery and Hallmark for the free copy of these book.

Jessica is a divorced mom to 8 year old Wesley. She runs the diner that her grandpa started in their small town. Business had been bad since a new restaurant opened on the outskirts of town. Jess is behind on her bills and desperate for ideas to turn the business around. She's dating Brett, a nerdy insurance agent who is more concerned about writing policies than Jessica. Jess is also trying to coach Wes at playing baseball and failing miserably.

Chase is a star pitcher for the Boston team until a bad 7th inning pitch in the playoffs last year. He hasn't been able to live that down. His arm has been failing and the team didn't renew his contract. His super model girlfriend seems to have jumped ship too. Spring training is starting and he is desperate for a new contract, anywhere. While waiting to see if his agent has any luck, he returns to his home town to lay low.

In high school, Jess and Chase dated seriously until Chase got a contract to play ball. Jess didn't feel she could leave her town and family so Chase went without her. They haven't spoken since that day, 15 years ago. When Chase runs into Jess, sparks fly. But can they put the past behind them?

There are twists and turns in this story, all of which are pretty predictable. It's a Hallmark story so it's very clean. My problem is how things just seem to happen. It's is behind on her bank note yet manages to get a loan for a big purchase? An expensive piece of equipment shows up in trade for free pre-season baseball tickets? There are also several changes related to the diner that happen without any permits or inspections? I can handle cheesy but this sort of thing drives me nuts because you know it couldn't ever happen like that.
