And the hero does it again...and again...and again. The main problem with this book was that the hero took literally the entire book to stop making the same mistake. He threw the heroine over in favor of money not once, not twice, but THREE. TIMES. It was really disconcerting to read a romance where the hero is internally having an argument over whether his relationship with the heroine is more important than making his fortune. And he continued to have this conversation with himself until, I kid you not, the last few pages, when he has an epiphany and decides to choose love. At that point, he had flip-flopped so many times that I had lost all faith in him. The fact that the heroine took him back AGAIN was just not realistic to me. I couldn't stand the hero by the end of the book, and therefore I could not rate this book higher.

In response to my request, I was given this ARC with the understanding that I would give a fair and honest review. Honestly, I adore anything about Egypt, but that doesn't affect the fact that this was a really good read. It has all the necessary components to make it a very enjoyable read. The writing, the story, the characters, the intrigue and Egypt! You will enjoy it as well.

I received this novel from net galley and the publisher for an honest review. Thank you!!
This novel was an enjoyable read. It brings together romance and mystery. Alexandra Quinn is an Egyptologist and believes artifacts found should be placed in a museum. She fell in love with Benedict Weston, Viscount Marlsbrook, who shattered her heart. She moved forward with her life, but when Benedict saves her life, she wonders why he has reentered her life. Benedict loves Alex, but he is not the man she deserves. He left Alex to fill his coffers that were destroyed by his father. He told artifacts that he found, which did not sit well with Alex. He returns to London to protect Alex since he promised an old friend who died under mysterious circumstances. Alex has become the killer's target and Benedict will do everything to keep her safe. Alex and Benedict need to work together to discover why the killer is targeting them. However, Alex cannot trust Benedict. As they work together, feelings long thought buried resurface. The killer will do whatever is necessary to get the items that it is believed Alex has. Will Benedict and Alex be able to work together to stop the killer without losing their hearts once again?

I enjoyed, When a Lady Desires a Wicked Lord. The only thing that could have made it better, is if Alex and Benedict actually tried to find the treasure.
