EXCLUSIVE/A TOUCH OF HEAVEN offers two previously released Samantha Chase stories, now re-edited and re-released in one book. As is expected with Samantha Chase, both offer a fun story that grabs you right from the beginning and holds your interest with great characters and lots of romance all the way through to the end.

EXCLUSIVE is the story of Taylor Scott, a rookie reporter for a small magazine. She is inexplicably offered the story of her life when super reclusive best-selling author Jonathon Wade offers to give his first-ever interview to Taylor. Before meeting the mysterious Mr. Wade, however, Taylor must work with his assistant who turns out to be, to Taylor’s surprise, someone she knows. Mike Greene had been the best friend of Taylor’s ex-boyfriend, but Taylor never knew that Mike had been in love with Taylor way back when and would like nothing more than to have a relationship with her now. Taylor finds herself getting involved with Mike, who has changed a lot since working for Mr. Wade, but she is also getting excited for Mr. Wade to show up so that she can get on with her career changing interview.

A TOUCH OF HEAVEN is the story of Regen Amerson and her mother Caroline who own a day spa together. When Caroline decides it is time to sell the family home, she is approached by the star of a home-improvement show who wants to renovate her home for his show. Caroline thinks it’s a great idea but Regen is not happy because she thinks it will destroy the home she grew up in and the memories of her father that she still has there. What neither Regen nor Caroline counted on is that they would be so attracted to the stars of the show, father and son team Max and Sawyer Bennett.

Both stories, while somewhat predictable, are filled with well-written characters and witty dialog. The story lines are well-developed for short novels, and each one can easily be read in one sitting. While not necessarily a negative thing, I found the sex-scenes in A TOUCH OF HEAVEN to be far more explicit than I’ve come to expect from a Samantha Chase novel. She usually leaves the intimate details behind the door and in the reader’s imagination. On the other hand, the sex scenes in EXCLUSIVE were far less explicit, but if this couple truly had as much sex as was suggested in the book, they should have both been dead by the last page!!

A fun read for a rainy weekend. Four stars for Ms. Chase.

I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

Exclusive & Touch of Heaven were both sweet, quick reads.

Exclusive is the story Taylor and how she is granted the opportunity to interview a famous writer that no one really knows anything about. No one even knows what he looks like so it is quite the scoop. She is not really sure why she was chosen as she works for one of the little guys, but she can't pass up this opportunity. Only she has to go out to the author's house near a small town for two weeks, the first she will just be talking with his assistant and then the second week the author will be back to do the interview.

Now when Taylor shows up at the author's house the assistant is her old friend Mike whom she hasn't seen in forever. He was best friends with her ex who was not a very good guy, but she always liked Mike. Not like that at the time, but now that she is getting to know him again she is crushing on him...only she has a job to do so can she really do anything about it even if he was on board?

Now it was fairly obvious what was going to happen with this story very early on, but it was fun. I liked Mike a lot, though I wish we would have known a bit more about his past and why he is happy hiding out in a small town. He doesn't really want fame and fortune and is happy with where he is which is all good, but it was alluded to that there would be a story there. Like something happened to make him kind of a recluse. Not really as he does get out, but I wanted a bit more. I really liked him though and enjoyed seeing these two reconnect. I didn't always understand Taylor and her rules that seemed to be a bit odd at times, but that could just be me. She was sweet and it was a fun story.

Touch of Heaven is the story of a mother and daughter who are super close and the mom has to sell her home as it is too much for her in her older age. The daughter, Regan, is having a really hard time letting it go as that is where she grew up. When her mom gets signed up for a reality TV show where they makeover your home Regan is not at all happy. Only the guy who is designing the makeover she has an instant attraction to even though she doesn't want to.

Sawyer was a sweetheart. I loved him and his ideas on how to change things. His show is all about not destroying but enhancing what is already there. He has never really felt the need to settle down or anything, but lately, he is getting a bit disillusioned with the show and once he meets Regan he knows she is worth fighting for. Once Regan lets him in these two were so sweet. I really enjoyed watching them fall for each other even if Regan could be frustrating at times (especially towards the end!).

Overall this was a nice collection of quick, sweet stories.

Exclusive/A Touch of Heaven was two books in one and it was nice to see they were both full length novels. My interest was held from the first page to the last as I got immersed in two lovely romances where love was unexpected and a nice surprise for the characters. I've always enjoyed Ms. Chase's romance books and these two did not disappoint.

Exclusive has friends from long ago meeting up in Maine of all places when New York City journalist, Taylor who's still waiting for her big break gets picked to interview a reclusive author by the author and his staff. No one knows who the author is, where he lives or what he looks like but that's all about to change, or is it? There are lots of conditions to be met but since Taylor's boss is on board, Taylor is too or is she? When she meets up with the author's assistant, Mike, who she knew growing up they still have an attraction - one that they've never really acted on. Since she'll be in Maine for two weeks will they act on it now or keep it on simmer?

There were lots of twists and turns to the story, some predictable. There were beautiful descriptions of the homes, his boat, the towns, the food and the scenery. The longer Taylor is in Maine the more she gets used to some of the finer things that money can buy but she's still a sweetheart at heart. The characters had a depth to them and we get to know them a little at a time. The prologue sets the stage and the epilogue tied up the story nicely. The great reveal of the author could have played out better but I loved the happily-ever-after and how it occurred.

A Touch of Heaven has a close mother and daughter, Caroline and Regan, respectively who are suddenly at odds since they are going to sell her childhood home and Regan hasn't made peace with it. It's also hard that they work together. When Caroline decides to have a reality tv show give their house a makeover, Regan is none too happy. Max and his son, Sawyer are the stars of The Bennett Project, where they go into homes and refurbish them for the owners. The network and director like drama added in but Max and especially Sawyer are against it. Sparks fly between Max and Caroline but also between Sawyer and Regan but they seem to hide their attraction better or do they? As the couples start to spend more time with each other things begin to heat up but what will be the end result? It was fun to watch Sawyer and Regan get closer and know that the other could be "the one" but they have a hard time communicating except between the sheets. But will that all change especially since often times they were unprofessional in their dealings?

There was a sweetness to the story since all the characters seem starved for love and attention. Sawyer knows how to woo a woman and make her dreams come true. There were unexpected happily ever afters as well as loose ends tied up in the epilogue. The ending left me wanting more!

This book has two stories inside. The first one has a small magazine getting an interview with a top author who is releasing his next book. The author has a list of demands and one of them is that Taylor Scott is the person doing the interview. Wondering why she was chosen she becomes more aware once she arrives at the house and is greeted by an old friend Mike Greene. He is the author assistant. After a while, though she becomes frustrated when she has not met the author. She becomes more upset when she does and everything goes downhill from there. Now the author must fix things see who it all turns out and who the author really is. The second has Regan Amerson helping her mother getting ready to sell the family home. Thinking that she went to the home store for paint and a few other items. She is upset when she finds out that she has been picked by a TV show for a house make over. Thinking that they are going to gouge her mother for money she gets into it with the host of the show not knowing that this is what the producer is really looking for. What is even more upsetting is that the host Sawyer Bennet is better looking in person than on television. Now the two of them begin to argue over everything which is only making matters worse. The real question is will she be there for the end and who will buy the house. Both of these stories are very good with good characters.

Exclusive is the ultimate “one who got away” story and the lengths that Mike Greene will go, to make Taylor Scott his. Mike was Taylor’s boyfriend’s best friend in high school and even after the break-up, Mike kept his feelings hidden.

Fast forward to present day. Taylor is a reporter for a little know publication and she receives the assignment the will rocket her career. Interview the famous, reclusive, never been seen in public, Jonathan Wade. The catch…two weeks on Mr. Wade’s remote property in Maine. To Taylor’s surprise, Mike greets her as the caretaker of the property. They spend time together, eating meals, talking, reminiscing about old time and the sparks are there! I refuse to write a spoiler as the plot and ending of the story are too good to give away in a review. What I will say is Exclusive is a must read!

A Touch of Heaven is the heart-warming story of four people who find peace, love, and a way to move on with their lives and really live. Set in the back-drop of a home improvement show, Reagan and Caroline (Daughter and Mother) and Sawyer and Max (Son and Father) navigate reality, emotions, drama, and attraction.

Reagan is emotionally attached to her family home in which she grew up but, Caroline is ready to improve, sell, and move on. When Caroline “wins” a home makeover, Reagan’s world turns up-side-down. Enter Sawyer and Max…and the drama that comes along with a reality show. I love Reagan and Caroline as the strong, independent, female characters. In my opinion these two ladies shine in this story. The fact that they find their happily-ever-after in the end makes it that much sweeter.

Taylor is a journalist who just got a offered the biggest story of her career. Not sure why they picked her but not wanting to turn it down either.
Mike has not seen Taylor in years, but has not been able to stop thinking of her. When she shows up as the journalist to write the article about his boss, things start to quickly heat up.
I love this story!! The storyline and characters just held me captive. I actually read this story several years ago, and even reading it a second time was wonderful. There was even a part towards the end that was so romantic that it has stuck with me ever since reading it the first time, and gave me butterflies all over aging reading it this time around as well. It is definitely in my top ten most romantic touching scenes.

A Touch of Heaven
Regan owns a massage parlor with her mom Caroline. When her mom tells her they have won a home makeover from a tv show, Regan is skeptical and not happy about it. Not wanting to change anything or sell her childhood home. However Regan has no idea how much this makeover will change not only her home but her life.
Sawyer is the host of the makeover show about to work on Caroline and Regan’s house. He was feeling at a crossroads, but was attracted to Regan from the moment he saw her. This story was so good, I am not sure how I haven’t read it before now. I loved the characters and the storyline was different than any other books I have read. There is even a secondary romance going on as well with two of the other characters. A Touch of Heaven definitely had my attention, I could not put it down. It also had all the feels, I found myself very engaged with my feelings as I read along. It was a great story I highly recommend!!

This was one awesome book with two Amazing Stories. Both with lots of feelings and lots of romance. You do not want to miss this dynamic duo!

I wasn't a big fan of this one. I've read other works by this author, but this one didn't compare (for me). Even though it's not a long book, I still found myself skipping pages. I didn't like Taylor for the most part. She about has a panic attack at the thought of doing an interview with someone, and it seems like she's constantly arguing with
herself. When the truth comes out, I understand her anger, but the situation wasn't all his fault. When Mike changes his mind, I didn't blame Taylor a bit for leaving. That was a jerk thing to do. I was glad that Taylor stood up for herself with her boss too. The ending was sweet, but it wasn't enough to redeem this one for me.
A Touch of Heaven
This writing was better, and more in line with what I've read from this author before. Regan and her mother disagree on pretty much everything. I understand that she's attached to the house she grew up in, but it's been 10 years since her dad passed away. She was making everything hard for her mom. I did feel like her mom was pushing her relationship with Max too much. If a daughter doesn't want to talk about her mom's relationship, then let it go. I liked Regan and Sawyer together, they had great chemsitry. When the drama started though, Regan WAY overreacted. The stuff that happened wasn't Sawyer's fault, and it was ridiculous that she blamed him for it. The ending was sweet, and was happy to see Regan and Sawyer, and Caroline and Max get their HEAs.

OK Ladies, do you like romance? Well this book is romance times two. You get two wonderful stories for the price of one by the phenomenal author Samantha Chase. This is a re-release of two of Ms. Chase’s previously released books with some tweaks (sorry, I do not know the tweaks because I had not previously read these books). So here is my review:
Exclusive:
I really love it when two people go from friends to love interest to lovers. Mike and Taylor knew each other in school years back. Mike was the kid in school that many of the parents and other kids frowned upon, because of his penchant for getting into trouble. But Taylor, she never held Mike’s past against him, and he never forgot that. He was half in love with her back then, but Taylor was dating Mike’s best friend and so, in his eyes, she was off limits. Fast forward 10 years, Mike now works for the famous reclusive author Jonathan Wade. Taylor has been invited to come up to Maine for two weeks and interview the famous author. She is finally going to make a name for herself. Best of all, she finds out that the Michael Greene that works for Mr. Wade is the same Mike Greene she knew in school. However, Mike is still a bit of an idiot. No, ladies, I am not going to tell you why, and spoil the book for you. I will say I loved reading about these two falling in love. I could not put my reader down until I was done with this story. These two were meant for each other.
A Touch of Heaven
Back when I had more time to watch TV, my two favorite channels were the Food Network, and HGTV. I loved watch all of the creativity happening on all of the shows. I nearly flipped when I read the blurb for this story. It reminded me about some of the shows I used to watch on HGTV. BUT, this, this was SOOOOOOO much better!!!! This story certainly ran the gamut of emotions for me. I definitely got the warm and fuzzies, while reading this book, but I also laughed my butt off at times, and wanted to really hurt people at other times.
This story was two love stories in one. Regan and Sawyer and Caroline (Regan’s mom) and Max (Sawyer’s Dad), I loved reading about both romances. Then, there was that as…..PG, PG, have to keep this PG, that devil Devin. I definitely wanted to smack him upside his head with a 2 x 4, better yet a sledge hammer. I think my favorite part (other than the ending, sorry ladies, no hints), is when Regan goes to her mom’s house, opens the….STOP, I said no hints. Let me just say this, I laughed my as…, PG, PG, butt off!!!!
Both stories are well worth the read. Once I start each story, I could not stop until the end. Thank you, Ms. Chase for the many hours of reading enjoyment you give to your readers. You are one of the authors that can always bring the emotions to the forefront in her stories. They are the kind of romance books that I love best (emotional).
Thank you for reading my review. Now, ladies, what are you waiting for, go hit that one-click button and start enjoying this book!

DNF

I took a review copy of this book because the second story, A Touch of Heaven, caught my attention. I liked the premises of a father and son home improvement show. Sawyer is getting a little tired of the network’s cookie cutter approach to the show and is thinking about letting the whole thing go. His father picked a woman at a local hardware store to be their next remodel and while Sawyer is blah about the whole thing, the network is hot about the fact that the woman’s daughter is against changing the house. They want the family drama and Sawyer has no interest in giving in to the reality show drama.

We are to believe that Sawyer is intrigued by Regan and agrees to do the show because he wants to get close to her. But I really can’t imagine why, Regan acts more like a petulant 15 year old than a grown woman. Regan’s mother wants to sell the old house since it is too much for just her after her husband passed and it is too much from Regan who also lives alone. If they have to sell, Regin wants to let it go with all of her childhood memories in tact. She only agrees to paint the bathroom which could use a sprucing up. When her mother comes home from the paint store with a story of the home improvement show wanting to do a renovation, Regin loses her damn mind. She wants to hate Sawyers ideas but when I draws everything up and puts it into one of those computer programs that gives you a walk through, she admits it might look nice.

But when the demo begins in the outdated kitchen, Regan goes running out crying because that’s where she used to do her homework every day after school. Really? There is nostalgia and there is insanity. Would Regin never allow her mother to renovate her own home because she would ruin Regin’s memories?

Any intrigue I had was lost listening to Regan constantly whining about how Sawyer was ruining everything, in between her trying to get him alone. And that’s not even getting into the fact that both of them got uncomfortable about the fact that their fifty-something parents were quietly hooking up while Sawyer had to deal with Regin and her pity party. Fifty-something, not eighty-something!

I saw the writing on the wall when Sawyer’s comfort turns into a makeout session, which neither noticed was being caught on camera. So obviously the network was going to use that as a “that’s how Sawyer convince the reluctant daughter to do things his way” drama which would throw the touchy Regin into another fit.

I absolutely LOVED this duo. Samantha Chase always gives us a perfect, sexy, romance. I highly recommend not only this wonderfully written duo, but all her books. I have a longer review posted on Amazon and Goodreads.

Exclusive- This was about a reclusive author who wanted to grant an interview but only to one person. She was someone that was in his life years ago and never looked at him with disdain, however when she found out who he really was she was not happy.
I had a hard time getting into this book I actually sidelined it for a couple weeks and wen back to it. I did finish but it did not really hold ,y interest.

A Touch of Heaven- This book knock me off my feet I was cracking up as Regans mom was selling her house and was excepting to be on a father and son makeover show. As Regan is sneaking around with the son the father and her mom are having a grand old time. I am glad I picked this back up as I enjoyed this book.

I'm a big Samantha Chase fan so I was eager to read this one which includes two different stories. The first centers around a writer being given the ability to interview an author who is extremely private. Of course, the story is a bit more complex than that as it all comes together. The 'mystery' at the heart of this particular story was not difficult to figure out which took away some of the punch of the overall story.

The second story is about a woman whose mother plans to have a reality TV show re-do her childhood home. These circumstances bring together the woman and a member of the show who then finds that they've been missing something ... each other.

Both stories were sweet but I didn't quite connect with each of them. They were solid reads but I didn't love them as much as I have some of her other stories. If you're a Samantha Chase fan, you should pick this one up.

Samantha Chase has given us two great books in one. In each book you meet two new female characters and two new male characters each of course having minds of their own. Samantha Chase is able to draw you in as a reader and keep you entertained the entire read. Can't wait to read what she has coming in the future.

As always I loved this book. Samantha Chase never disappoints. Her characters are well rounded, and the storyline has the perfect amount of each element.
