It's onto the 29th book in the Dark Hunter series and we finally get the long-awaited, and eagerly anticipated story of Urian.
Once again Sherrilyn Kenyon has delivered an indepth, detailed and very emotional installment to the series, the attention to detail continues to astound me.
It looks to me that this book is going to run along the same lines as Acheron and Styxx, in that we're going to get a whole load of backstory before we reach the point where we know Urian to be, and then continue onto his future. It was part of this backstory I had the opportunity to read, Urians early life, and if what I've read is a glimpse into what's to come, it's safe to say that this is going to be a good one.
Lots of feels in this excerpt, as we see the relationships Urian has with those around him.
Loved the dynamics with his family. It was truly fascinating to see Stryker with his children, the love her has for them is clear to see, especially with Urian. How Sherrilyn manages to make me empathise and care about the bad guys I'll never know, but she does it, time and time again.
I felt it was important that we had this chance to see Urians close relationship with Stryker in this detail, in order for us to fully feel the impact of what's to become.
Very cleverly written, lots of insight into the life of one of my favourite characters and more revelations that continues to build one of the most interwoven, complex series I've ever read, oh what a tangled web Sherrilyn weaves, so good.
I thoroughly enjoyed this read and yes it was extremely frustrating to be unable to continue.
Once again I was pulled into the story completely and I can't wait to find out what lies ahead for Urian.
A captivating, fascinating and emotional read.
