The book was a little wordy and the same concept drilled into your head over and over and over again. Then there is the fact that you really do need to read all 4 books. No thanks! At first, the book was really good and I couldn't wait to see what happened. About 20% into the book I was ready to give up. Lost the character somehow and just didn't care anymore. Received this book as an ARC and I voluntarily give my review.

Koontz continues with this thriller that keeps you glued to every page living the same adventures that Jane finds herself in. The great story continues.

A chilling continuing story about a secret society that wants control of the world

In this fourth book of the Jane Hawk series, Jane finds that some of her well-laid plans for the protection of her five year-old son are at risk and so she rushes to rescue this most important person in the world to her.

Jane is an ex-FBI agent that is hard on the trail of the Arcadians, the group behind the staged suicide of her beloved husband.

You really need to start at the beginning of this series and read the books in order. I had previously read the first three books but just finished re-reading them because it had been a while since I finished them. I'm glad I did. There were bits and pieces all the way through those first three books that I had forgotten.

Jane is one kick ass mother/wife out for her own vengeance plus to protect the world from the coming threat.

Bernie is back in this book and I love his character. And I love a new character added in this book. This is my favorite book of the series so far. It IS over 400 pages but the pages and the story zoom by. Lots of action and tears of sadness and happiness are shed.

I am now off to read the fifth and final book in the series THE NIGHT WINDOW.

As a,ways, Deean Koontz delivers a great book in this series. I'm a huge fan of Dean Koontz and love this series. I can't recommend his books more.

I should have stopped at the 3rd to be honest. I find sometimes with series when you get to the 4th/5th/6th etc that the story falls apart a but and I just wasn't near as into this one as the previous books. I kept reading because I wanted to get to the end and I don't regret reading it, but I was often bored and other books took precedence. With that said, should there be another somehow, I would still probably read it because I'm now committed to the story.

Welcome to Book 4 in the Jane Hawk series. The conspiracy in this series just continues to deepen. I don't want to give away anything if you haven't read the first 3 books yet, so I'll just say that this part of the story centers around Jane trying to get back to her son while a national manhunt is underway to apprehend her. The media and the FBI are painting her as the most dangerous woman in the country but the few that are close to her know differently.

First of all, the conspiracy is complicated but not to the point of being outside the realm of possibility, which is something that really turns me off from a book. One of my favorite things about this series is the diversity of the characters. Mr. Koontz has created a cast that is black, white, Latino, young, old and in-between. One of the best characters in this book is the young man with autism. He plays a critical role and I think the author does a great job of writing this character's personality and the quirks that come with autism. Now, let me talk a little bit about the bad guys. They just keep spiraling further and further into their depravity. There's a couple of guys that are more than determined to find Jane and will stop at nothing to bring her in, dead or alive. But even these characters have distinct personalities and the interplay between them add a richness to this thriller that makes it an even better read.

Once again, Dean Koontz has tickled my imagination and sent chills down my spine with this latest installment in the Jane Hawk series. I can't recommend this series enough. Book 5, "The Night Window", comes out in about a month, so hurry up and get started on this series!

Dean Koontz is a master storyteller. This series is incredible and the intensity was turned up a notch in this book. I really love these characters that are helping Jane and I just want everyone to get to the end together! I can't wait to read the next book in this series. Highly recommend!

I love the Jane Hawk series. I thought it was going to be a trilogy and now it’s on to #5?
As much as i love the character, I’m ready for her to have her happy ending.

This was a great book and I was able to see more about what Jane Hawk has been going through while trying to find out what really happened to her husband and so many others. Jane is going to do whatever it takes to get to the truth and protect her son at the same time. Some unusual friendships form and connections are made.

Dean Koontz never fails to deliver a good book. always keeps me interested and wanting to keep reading!!

Scary world. Gives me nightmares, but it is a fascinating read.

This is book Four of an extended series about a former FBI agent who is pursuing shadowy figures that are trying to control the world via brain controlling nanotechnology. And its hard to know who to turn to because "they" control people in the FBI, NSA, police, government, etc......

Jane Hawk is an amazing hero and this book justs keep going, and going, and going......I could not put it down.

I have gone back to book one and started from the beginning. Read it---you will love it.

This is a continuation of the Jane Hawk series.

The book will keep you glued to the edge of your seat and the plot will keep you turning pages but did seem to be overly detailed in spots.

There is great progressive character development of the main character, however some of the other characters were a bit one dimensional.

I have read many books by this author and so have high hopes that the next book will really bring
this series together.

Jane Hawk is a great heroine and I have been enjoying this series, anxiously awaiting Jane’s victory. I found the first books very good as we learned more about the Techno Archadians and saw their effects on the adjusted people. However this book was more of a long chase scene. We see less of Jane and more of the bad guy chasing her and anyone involved with her while trying to find her son. There are more bad guys in this book, too many in fact. It left me a little confused. Even though this book left me disappointed like few Dean Koontz’s books do, I am still looking forward to the next (last?) installment coming in May. Thanks to Random House and Netgalley for allowing me to read and review this book.

I always enjoy the Jane Hawk series, although the mind-control technology is super creepy. I enjoyed this book a lot. I liked the variety of the characters I hadn't read before and the familiarity of those I had.

As always, Dean Koontz does not disappoint. I remember after reading my first, second, third...etc Dean Koontz books that I thought he really had a way with creating so many little twists and turns in his book that you just had no idea how it would end up. The Forbidden Door is no exception to that. It is a fast paced, page turner of a book that will keep you up too late at night.

This is the fourth book in the Jane Hawk Series and you really would want to read these in order. Mainly this series is about Jane, who is on a search to find out why her husband was killed and who did it. His death was set up to believe that he committed suicide but Jane knows better. She is hiding for her life depends on it as she is hunted by some government officials, who have a way to find their enemy. Jane used her intelligence to outsmart the enemy. She is an ex F.B.I. agent and is a wanted fugitive. Jane's enemies are determined to see her dead or make her wish she was dead. The Arcadians are just pure evil. They use a drug and inflicts it into people, and then they have total mind control of them. They do it to those who they feel are a threat to society.

With the madness spreading like a virus, the war between Jane and her enemies will become a fight for all their lives- against the lethal terror, unleashed from behind the forbidden door.

This book was super action packed. The books in this series, just get better and better. Make sure you have plenty of time on your hands because I didn't want to put this book down. This is a thriller series. I loved the writing style. This is a long book but the chapters are short and it has riveting suspense that makes it a fast paced read and it didn't take me long to finish it. My heart was pumping and I was holding my breath and coming up for air several different times to find out what was going to happen next.

I love Jane's character. She is an add kicking heroine and doesn't seem to be afraid of any thing and truly trusts her insyincts. I loved the dynamics of the characters.

I highly recommend this series to thriller fans. I can't wait to read the fifth book, The Night Window! Coming Soon!

Words. So. Many. Words. When you take on the Jane Hawk series, you have to be prepared for the commitment that it is. Dean Koontz is an author that likes his words, some are repetitive, others may involve a dictionary, or a search engine, and a rare few, even a translator. That being said, you are in for a breath catching adventure laid out by an Unknown Playwright that has a tendency to throw the unexpected in when a character might need to be dealt the unforeseen.

With a slow start that gains momentum, Jane is desperately trying to get to her 5-year-old son Travis who has been kept in hiding by close friends. When the protector’s cover is blown, in a graphic shoot out, a scared child calls his mother and Jane “with no emotion hotter than the terror that blazed in a mother when her child was in peril” will not stop until her son, and his new friend Cornell, and dog companions are safely tucked away.

Each book brings back previous introduced malevolent characters, but also reminds the readers of the good people that have helped Jane. The Forgotten Door reunites two of the best and with their help, Travis just might have a chance. That does not mean that there is not more treachery coming their way from the Techno Arcadians since this book ends on an interesting precipice and though Jane is granted a few quiet moments, that is no guarantee they will last especially when the ‘beautiful monster’ has more work to do.
