when prima ballerina jessica carmichael and rodeo circuit star matt walker both suffer acl tears to their knees, it's very possible that their careers might be over. but they aren't ready to face the end of the thing they love most, so they find an exclusive rehab/pt program and find themselves partnered up.

cowboys need not apply finds jessica and matt battling each other and bringing out the best in the other. and the more time they spend together the clearer it is that in spite of all their many differences, jess and matt are meant to be. all you need to do is figure out the logistics of a city girl and country boy falling in love and making a life together.

their love is one that builds up gradually and the relationship feels so strong and steady that when they do have their dark moment, it's hard because there isn't a lot of book left to resolve everything. jessica's mother plays an interesting role in the dark moment, and no role at all in the resolution, so that feels like an unresolved thread. but it's a minor complaint in what is overall a satisfying read. also this one really feels like an older school harlequin the way it's written. my grandmother would have really loved this story. (and that is a compliment, lest anyone be confused.)

**cowboys need not apply will publish on august 13, 2018. i received an advance reader copy courtesy of netgalley/entangled publishing (bliss) in exchange for my honest review.

A cowboy and ballerina walk into a rehab clinic after knee injuries...

Sounds like the premise for a good joke, but turns out it is the perfect set up for a sweet book.

I liked rodeo cowboy Matt a lot. He has a great sense of humor and positive attitude. It took me a little bit longer to like Jessica, but by the end of the book I found her to be a fun character.

The romance here grows organically out of their mutual support of each other through their injuries. I think they were well suited for each other and enjoyed their story a lot.

This is an absolutely delightful story. Matt and Jessica were the perfect counterpoint to each other. Their wit and banter was just marvelous. The secondary characters especially Kat and Harry added extra depth and flavor to the story. The authors descriptions of the scenery and the events happening around especially the poker game and the birth of the foal were exceptional.

This is the first book that I’ve read from Robert Tate Miller and I am glad I did. Cowboy Need Not Apply is a fun, sexy romance with entertaining characters and a great storyline. I will definitely be looking to read more by this author and recommend this book to readers

Usually when you have a ballet dancer with a cowboy thrown in, I would love it. Unfortunately I did not connect to it like I would have liked. It was disappointing as i had high hopes.

Sorry but the whole set-up for this one feels little more than that - a set-up with no basis in reality. I didn't feel any chemistry between the two lead characters and the medical clinic rules are hilarious and not in a good way. Jessica's need for the intensive rehab made more sense to me but Mad Dog's "bulldog" insistence that he just had to ride again so soon is based on a promise made when he was 11. Now if the ranch was about to be foreclosed on - which it didn't seem so since he had the moolah to be treated at this ritzy clinic in Manhattan - or he needed the win to get the cred to start his own riding school - maybe.

What a fun read! I smiled and laughed through most of this story. I loved the Cowboy! Robert Tate Miller is a wonderful storyteller.

I wanted so much to like this story but it just did not entirely get there. It was a borderline read. Jessica's character is prickly and challenging and held little if any chemistry with 'Mad Dog' Matt Walker's character. It was a story that I wanted to like but did not quite entirely get there.
