File errors prevented me from reading this entire book, but I was able to read the first half which was delightful. Fans of Knisley's work will enjoy yet another foray into the author's life, while those of us who have felt some of her works were a bit lacking will find more than enough to applaud here

I felt connected this book with every fiber of my being. As someone who battled infertility to have my recently born twins, I know all to well the struggles that getting pregnant, staying pregnant and gestating bring. Thank you for sharing your story Lucy. It is empowering and comforting to know that we are never alone.

I learned so much from this little graphic novel, and should the day ever come that I decide to have children of my own I'll be sure to reference back. A great resource for new parents or anyone considering starting a family of their own!

Lucy Knisley's latest work is simultaneously informative, funny, intimate, and above all so incredibly open and honest that I feel like my words can't do justice in giving "Kids Gloves" its properly due praise. To call this a strong recommend would be quite the understatement.

Lucy Knisley's graphic memoirs are a constant source of delight, and this one is no different. She handles the often tough, often exhilarating story of her own attempts to get pregnant, including several miscarriages, and her eventual pregnancy and its aftermath. As with her previous books about aging grandparents and her own wedding, Knisley also uses these stories as a jumping off point to discuss the aspects of fertility and infertility that our culture gets wrong, including myths, misconceptions, blind spots, and cultural obsessions. It's not always an easy read-- Knisley had a tough road to becoming a mother, and she doesn't spare us many of the details-- but I'm really glad she decided to share it with us. The book also has good reminders to watch how we speak to our friends and family about their own family plans, since there's often a backstory to everything (and it's none of our business!). Last tip: if you love Pal from this, check out Knisley on Instagram, where he is now a toddler in real life and a delight to behold.

I love all of Lucy’s books. Not only are her drawings fabulous, but she also writes well. Her memoirs are so relatable.

Sometimes you read a book and you hope the early hype isn't too big, and here's the thing, KID GLOVES deserves all of it. It is an amazing graphic novel/story about being yourself, being a mother, who you are after the child. It's also extremely inclusive and truly a book for everyone.
