October Kiss
By Kristen Ethridge
Poppy is a woman who struggles with where she fits in. She is in her late 20’s and has nothing to show for. While her brother in law is deployed Poppy moves in with her sister Megan and kids determined to change. Little does she realize her decision to learn to commit to something will be a success and change her life.
Meanwhile, Ryan is a widower with two young kids. He is working to provide for his family but in doing so is losing them along the way. Determined that once this work project is finished things will change and get better, he hires Poppy temporarily to hold his family together.
Romance is the name of this game. October Kiss was easy to call but enjoyable to read. I am an avid reader and read quite quickly. That being said this book only took me an afternoon to read. The back of the book boosted a pumpkin soup recipe to tie this fun story together. Overall I think this was a great pick me up romance. It was short and sweet, but just right for this reader.
I received a free copy of this book in return for my honest opinion.

This was a typical HEA Hallmark movie. One I actually saw, by the way. I loved the movie and the book even more. As promised, Hallmark finished it. In this case they married, increased their family and lived happily ever after. Good job, Hallmark.

This book was gifted to me by the publisher and the author in return for an honest review.

This was a sweet book. Took me a bit to get involved in the characters but once that I did it was a quick read. Looking forward to reading more from this author in the future

This was a Hallmark movie in book form. A nice little Autumn, Halloween romance. I loved it! If I see the movie advertised on Hallmak channel, I will definitely watch.

This was a very sweet autumn romance about Poppy and Ryan. Poppy becomes the nanny to Ryan’s two children Zach and Zoe. Poppy is a really sweet woman who is feeling a little lost in life. Ryan is a really sweet man who is trying to juggle between being a single dad while working and still making time for his kids. I really loved this book. I instantly fell in love with Zach and Zoe. For me they made the book so much more than just a romance book. They made me laugh and smile with everything they did. I loved this book from start to finish and I am really hoping that the movie does it justice. Thanks Net Galley for the chance. I voluntarily reviewed this book in exchange for an honest review.

Great read it makes me want to watch the Hallmark movie the book is based on. This book is all about finishing what you start and falling in love along the way. You have a widowed dad who is a workaholic (Ryan), Zoe and Zach (his children), Poppy ( there temporary Nanny) and Abigail (Ryan’s coworker who wants to be more than just a coworker). Poppy with the help of Zoe and Zachteaches Ryan what family time is again. Ryan falls in love,.....

I had never heard of this author, but October is my favorite month, and the storyline of this book caught my attention. It was a nice enough story, an easy read full of Halloween fun. However, it resorted to the old standby source of conflict, which always disappoints me: the “misunderstanding.” One person sees something they misinterpret, and runs away, which results in the couple “breaking up.” If they’d had a conversation like adults, they could have avoided a lot of heartache. Poppy’s lack of maturity bothered me after a while, too. Every time something negative happened, she treated it as if it were the end of the world.

I do like stories about single dads, though, so this one had that going for it.

October Kiss tells the story of Poppy and Ryan. Poppy has been drifting through her adulthood trying to find what is right for her while Ryan is completely focused on getting his new app sold, to the detriment of his relationship with his children. Poppy agrees to be Ryan’s nanny to prove that she can stick with something, but maybe she’ll do more than she ever thought possible!
I loved the characters of Poppy and Ryan. Poppy is the epitome of what I think all grownups feel at some point- lost and without focus and wondering what exactly you’re supposed to be doing and are you doing the right thing? She has a good heart and a good work ethic, but just hasn’t found her thing. I love how she interacts with the children and brings her zest for life to everyone!
At first I thought Ryan was going to be the quintessential workaholic, but he actually is trying to remedy the situation! He is able to have fun with Poppy and the children and he truly is clueless about what other people’s motives are. I like how he put the feelings of his children first!
This is the perfect book to read for the Fall and will definitely inspire my Fall bucket list. It is full of all that is best of the season and is like a how to for having Autumn fun.
I enjoyed how the book wrapped up, however, I wish we had learned whether the big presentation was successful! Otherwise, a great Fall read to get you in the mood for the season and cosy romance.
Thank you to Hallmark, the author and NetGalley for the free ARC in exchange for an honest review.

A beautiful falling in love story that hit a lot of humor buttons because of Zach and Zoe. These kids almost steal the story. There aren't many Halloween stories and this one is loads of fun. Poppy (love the name) is still trying to find her way in life and it's great she's able to help herself and Ryan. Looking forward to watching the movie!

I have not had cable for awhile so I have missed curling up to watch Hallmark movies. Luckily this book read exactly like a Hallmark movie. It was sweet and sappy and the exact kind of fluff that you can use to drown out the rest of the world.

Very cute story. Much like the other Hallmark books I've read, there just isn't enough romance in these stories. The bones are there; the author just needs to flesh it out even more. It's an advantage the movies have--the actors can show us those moments of connection, the physical awareness that is sorely lacking in these stories. This book does make me want to watch the movie; I hope Hallmark shows it soon! Also, did the dad get the Japanese contract? There's no indication in the epilogue and there absolutely should have been. I do like the epilogues in these Hallmark stories, getting to see what happens after the movie ends.

This was an okay read. I did enjoy it and I did read it pretty fast. But it had no real depth and not much romance between the two romantic characters. For a majority of the book Ryan is paired up with Abigail and even dates her throughout the story and that was my complaint. It took away from seeing Poppy and Ryan together.

Ryan is a single dad with two great kids but he is a workaholic. Poppy is a 28 year old woman who can't seem to commit to anything. After losing her last job her sister offers to Ryan as a nanny. Poppy and Ryan form a friendsip/boss employee relationship but it does not get romantic, intstead he dates a co-worker,Abigail.

The two fall for the other but Poppy thinks Ryan wants Abi and Ryan has no clue. On one hand I liked the plot except for Abi but on the other I wanted more romance between Poppy and Ryan.
