A very fast read, I dislike books that are written this way as it forces you to keep buying books. However, it's a good, solid book, Meredith Wild does not disappoint!

h my gosh, Part 1 of The Red Ledger is so brilliant! If this sets the pace and tone of the whole series, there are going to be a ton of happy readers. Although part 1 ends in a cliffhanger, the good news is part 2 comes out on the 29th of May,
Isabel Foster is a young woman trying to find her way in life after her first and only love went into the military and left her behind and never returned. She never heard anything from or about him after this. Although Tristan and Isabel were just getting ready to get out of high school, They were in love and Isabel loved him more than anything else; and she fought to keep their relationship going, he was her everything and now she feels broken.
Tristan Stone lives his life as a shadow, killing people for a living, and no one knows whatever happened to him. After getting wounded in battle he was operated on and in a coma for a while, and woke up not remembering the last 3 years of his life. He was given a new identity and everything he needed to start a new life, working for a well hidden organization. His newest job is to eliminate Isabel, which means nothing to him as he can't remember. The night he slips into her house he can hear her and then sees her in her bedroom and she is calling his name! This stops Tristan as he does not remember her, but she is familiar to him.He slowly backs out, he wants to question her first and see how she knows him.
That is all I am going to say as I do not want to give any more details. This is a fast paced, have to read all at once type book and I know you will be dying for part 2 like me "right now", I gave Part 1 5***** stars and am counting the days until part two!

The Red Ledger is the first book in a 9-book series (6 have already been published). It is a suspenseful, fast-paced, sexy read. This novella with its slowly unraveling mystery will definitely make you want to read the next books in the series. Meredith Wild's writing, as always, is really good.

I received an ARC of this novel from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
Quick read about memory loss and a reconnection between former lovers.

Meredith Wild has done it yet again. She has created another series that sucks you in and you cant put the book down until you devour every word. This book has a sexy, alpha male thats mysterious and exciting to read about. Tristen doesnt know who he is but hes definitely sure that this woman knows. This book is action packed. Isabel holds the key to a life he wants to know about. The chemistry between the two is so strong and its definitely a sexy read. I cant wait to read the next part of this red hot series.

Very fast read. I read this in a matter of hours, and it was perfectly fine. I'm not sure that I'll continue with the series because there are many other books I need to get to. This one didn't have me overly excited to find out what happens, but that shouldn't deter others from finding out for themselves whether it's a series they would enjoy.
*Thank you to Netgalley for the ARC.

A fast-paced opening to what I hope is a great series. Anxious to read the next book, so I can learn more about super-assassin Tristan and Isabel, his long-lost love.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Beyond amazing I enjoyed this book so very much. The characters and storyline were fantastic. The ending I did not see coming Could not put down nor did I want to.

It was a short read with an ok storyline. Ended abruptly on a cliffhanger, then I realised there are another 8 books continuing the story. I didn’t enjoy it enough to consider reading the rest of the series.

What a great starting book in this series, as we are introduced to Tristan and Isabel and the complex history they have together. Despite Tristan’s memory loss, I believe that he still deep in his heart knows who Isabel is. Oh, the old priest is such a good hearted man looking out for Isabel. This book leaves a lot of questions unanswered and makes you wonder what’s going to happen next to these two. Can’t wait to read the next book in this series.

I can’t wait to see what happens next to Tristan and Isabel! An intriguing, alternately steamy and edge-of-your-seat, this first portion kept me entertained and curious how the relationship with Isabel and Tristan would play out.
Thanks to Netgalley for an advanced readers’ copy!

If you love suspense and mystery and romance, this is a must read. I wasn't sure from reading the teaser that I would enjoy this series. Boy was I mistaken. Once I started to read this first part of the series. I wanted to figure out the clues. I wanted to unravel the relationships between the lead characters and understand how the past led to the present.

Sexy, hot, action packed story!! Tristan is a hitman for hire. He has lost a big portion of his memory due to an incident in the military. After recovering, he becomes a hitman. His newest target turns out to be a surprise. It's someone who knows him, but he doesn't remember her. Isabel is still very much in love with Tristan. She doesn't know that he has been sent to kill her. Tristan takes her away with him so he can try to find out about who he was before and maybe trigger his memories. There is still a lot of chemistry between them no matter how hard he tries to fight it. And that's just the beginning! This is a must read! Triple hot!!!

THE RED LEDGER: PART 1 is an action packed novella (116 pages) and in case you have not heard it ends in a cliffhanger. Cliffhangers are something I normally avoid, but all I read about this series had me giving in and trying it. I was truly surprised at how much I really enjoyed this novella by author Meredith Wild. I feel that though there are not that many pages to this offering, there is a lot of back story, enough to let you know what Isabel and Tristan had gone through and see them as they are now.
THE RED LEDGER: PART 1 is an intriguing read with a cold, calculating killer, who just might or might not be all bad; a woman who believes that the man she loved might still be there; plenty of action, intrigue and many questions that you will need to be answered. A very good start to a serial that should stay with you long after you close the book.

Oh my goodness this book was so good. Just when I thought there’d be more bam it ended and left me hanging. This story is so good and I can’t wait to read the rest of them.

Meredith Wild takes us on a thriller mystery of romantic portions in The Red Ledger series.
While it is a novella sized read it packs in a lot of drama and action.
Tristan has forgotten who he is. All he knows now is to follow kill instructions mysterious Jay sends him. Except his latest kill objective happens to know him. Happens to know his past and who he is. A man without ties is hard to predict except subconsciously he wants to know who he is. So he will find out by saving her life... even if it means putting his life in danger now.
It’s a quick paced read that is told in multiple POV. I hope there is a deeper meaning to all the coincidences in this book. Actions and motions seem to leap without much thought as to reason why and I had a hard time really connecting to the story. However, the premise and opportunities to explore are wide open to resolve in the next 8 additional books to the series.

I love Meredith Wild books. I mean her Hacker and Bridge series just blew me away. This one took some getting used to. I don't know what it was...maybe the fact that it's not a full book but a series of small books totaling up to one full book. I know a lot of authors are going this route, but I'm not a fan. I want to buy a book once and read the beginning, middle and end that said book. The characters are interesting, if a bit young for me to be fully invested. Are authors really afraid to write a character over 30??? The plot has potential, but I really don't want to invest my hard earned coin in several installments. Sorry, but I'll pass.

Good start to this series, although it's not an overly long book. The basic story has been done before, and there's a good chance I'll check out the other books in the series to see how everything pans out for Tristan and Isabel.

The Red Ledger: Part One written by Meredith Wild, is the first novella in The Red Ledger Series. All the novellas build on one another, and this first one leaves the reader on a bit of a cliff, desperately wanting to read the next book in the series. For a novella, Ms. Wild develops her characters and plot twists well considering the book is only 122 pages. Her writing is spot on and keeps you on edge.
The two main characters, Isabel Foster and Tristan Stone have a past, they were high school sweethearts/lovers, but that is where it ends…until six years later when the two cross paths again. That's when this story explodes to life. I view Tristan as an anti-hero and where does that leave Isabel, confused. Tristan Red is not the boy she knew in high school. Although it is six years since they have seen each other the chemistry the two share is off the charts. The action, suspense, and the intrigue are well crafted throughout the book.
Overall I enjoyed this novella; it left me wanting so much more. So if you are looking for a fast pasted book filled with global mystery, suspense, and some scorching scenes, search no further, you have found your next read.
***I kindly received a copy of this book by way of NetGalley/publisher/author. I was not contacted, asked or required to leave a review. I received no compensation, financial or otherwise. I have voluntarily read this book, and this review my honest opinion .***

Isabel is living in Rio, going through the motions since her greatest love left her six years ago. She's an English teacher by day, and she likes to hang out with Kolt at night, dare I say, stringing him along? She knows she can never love him as her heart has already been given away, but the companionship is nice. Everything is turned upside down for Isabel when Tristan comes along, he's death for hire, and Isabel's name has arrived on his list. When he gets a chance at perfect, quick, easy kill, he doesn't take it, she says his name, HIS name. What can this all mean? Tristan only has the last three years worth of memories, he has no idea his connection to this kill, but he's determined to find out.
So, I had this sitting on my netgalley TBR list for a while now, and I have to admit, I was a bit put off when I was scrolling through Facebook one day and saw this series advertised on a sponsored add as the next Fifty Shades. Now, I have to admit, I've never read fifty shades, I've heard that it's entertaining, but it's existence has irked me since it's release (I just feel like the BDSM was not researched properly and I've seen excerpts from it and the writing style seems woeful), so I was a little put off that this book seemed to be classed totally different to what I was expecting when I read the blurb. As it's only rather short, 116 pages, I figured why not? I need to get my netgalley list down and I may as well start by picking off the shorter stories. This story doesn't seem anything like Fifty Shades. The first installment at least anyway. There's no poor excuse for bondage happening, though Tristan is very domineering and needs to get his own way and he's holding Isabel against her will. I put this down to a contract killer taking steps to work something out, not because he NEEDS to dominate Isabel or he'll die.
I found the premise of the story interesting. Here is a contract killer (who doesn't love one of those) who has no memory besides the last three years. He's on a kill and the killee says his name. Colour me interested. I found that the stories pace just seemed SOOOO SLOOOWWWWW. I honestly considered DNFing this at like 30% because NOTHING WAS HAPPENING. Two reasons I didn't DNF though - 1. It's only 116 pages for hell's sake and 2. I kinda wanted to see what would end up happening with Tristan and Isabel, as well as what HAPPENED with Tristan and Isabel. So I guess you could say that I was a little invested in the characters.
Tristan is a brooding, all business, contract killer for hire. He's tortured, generically good looking, and can kill someone at 100 paces and have complete certainty that he's got them, and that he's won. Isabel is running from her past, her heart shattered into a million pieces and belonging to the man who left her just out of high school when he joined the army. At 24 years old she has settled with the fact that she will never love again... To be honest, my favourite character out of the whole book was the half blind priest that we meet. I want to see more of him! He was great. Sarcasm aside (not about the priest, I really did pick him as my favourite character), the characters were fine, and they had enough depth for such a short book, they were generic love story characters in my opinion.
The story's pace fell flat for the middle of the book, it wasn't until I was nearly at the end of this installment that it really started to pick up. I didn't see any resemblance to fifty shades of grey, but I'm assuming that the similarity lies with the tortured, overbearing lover who the female just wants to save, make feel better, and do absolutely ANYTHING for. So not my kind of story I don't think. I'll admit, once I finished this I was curious as to what would happen next, but I'm not curious enough to continue with this series, it's just not for me I'm afraid. I wish I could have enjoyed it more, but it was more about the lost love aspect than the awesome killer for hire aspect.
