A good story for the holiday season. This is a well-written contemporary romance about love, loss, forgiveness, and discovering the your heart’s desire. The fact that the setting is at Christmastime adds to the magic of the story. The main character, Tia, tells her story in a compelling way. Holly Cove is a great setting for the story, and I enjoyed the characters from the town.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.

When Tia is due to write an article for Christmas called love is actually all around she is struggling, having recently lost her mother, and so she takes herself off to a little cottage on the Gower peninsula. Can she meet new people and bring back some of the magic of Christmas....... and what about Nic the taciturn taxi driver!

A lovely warm book, there were plenty of really likeable characters and a great book to settle down in front of a fire with

For journalist Tia Armstrong, since she’s lost her mum, romance and Christmas have lost their magic. Needing to write an article entitled “Love is, actually, all around”, Tia takes herself off to a quiet cottage in the village of Holly Cove. Here she meets taxi driver, Nic. Finding him the reserved and brooding type, Tia initially struggles to get on with him, but as time goes on could Nic be just the man to mend her broken heart?

I just knew as I read the blurb on this book that it was going to be a heart-breaking tale. The death of a parent is always going to tug at the heartstrings and I prepared myself with the knowledge that I would need plenty of tissues. I could feel myself welling up from the very beginning when Tia recounts a trip with her mother to New York and the memories that the drink Egg-Nog brings for them both. If I was already reaching for the box of tissues after the first chapter, what would I be like by the end!

It was a lovely book! It had its tearful parts, where I found myself reflecting on my own memories of lost loved ones, but it was equally just as heart-warming and full of joy! Tia was a lovely character and I loved her story of moving to Holly Cove and the interaction that she had with all the other villagers. The description of Holly Cove, nestled on the Gower Coast in Wales, was stunningly breath-taking and I could imagine the sea spray and wind on my face as I was reading.

This was definitely a book full of tears and sadness, love and laughter, friends and loved ones. Absolutely perfect for a Christmas read, as there was the obvious Christmas theme running through it. Would definitely recommend.

Snowflakes over Holly Cove is a Yo-yo book! You go backwards and forwards between unbelievable happiness and gut-wrenching heartbreak, and it's 100% addictive!

From Coffee in New York City to tears of sadness over losing someone you love, Snowflakes over Holly Cove has it all, not I'm really struggling not to give any of the stories away, because I so want to sit down and tell you absolutely everything! But what I will say is that by the end of the book you will be shedding tears...Happy tears thankfully.

Snowflakes over Holly Cove is a stunning story by Lucy Coleman, and I have to say I love how refreshing her writing is! Fully embracing the modern world, and throwing in a little back to basic-ness being is a small Welsh village, it kinda makes me want to be there right now!

I give Snowflakes over Holly Cove 5 stars

Tia has lost her Mom and is not in a good place. She is distant from her brother and his family. When she returns back to work her boss has an assignment that will take her to Holly Cove for several weeks. When she arrives she meets several wonderful people that will help her regain her life. She just doesn't know it yet.
Nic is a lost soul his self. Having lost parts of his life, he is working several jobs to get by. He rented out his cottage to make money for repairs. The cottage has special meaning to him and he wants to hang on to it. He has so many disappoints with his childhood it is hard for him to trust.
Everyone in Holly Cove is trying to help these two get through all their hurts and have good lives.
So if you want to read a lovely book about Healing, Love and Family. This is it. Thank you Lucy for such a good book.

I read and reviewed Lucy Coleman’s first book called ‘The French Adventure’ earlier on this year. I loved the book and I eagerly looked forward to her next book. Well the wait is over because she released ‘Snowflakes Over Holly Cove’ on the 18th September 2018. I couldn’t wait to get my hands on a copy and when I did get a copy, I dove straight in and began to read. Blimey oh riley, I thought that ‘The French Adventure’ was good but ‘Snowflakes Over Holly Cove’ is even better. I absolutely loved it but more about that in a bit.
I can honestly say that I took to the character of Tia Armstrong from the moment I started reading. I empathised with Tia too. She loses her mother, who is her only surviving parent, not long before Christmas. Although I still have my Mam (thank goodness), we lost my father a fortnight before Christmas several years ago and so I could totally understand where she was coming from with her grief and confused feelings. She returns to work four weeks after her mother’s death and she doesn’t feel that she is ready to return. I got the sense that she wondered how life could go on around her as normal when she is hurting so badly and her world has been shattered. That’s exactly how I felt. She is sent on a work assignment to Holly Cove and she has a fast approaching deadline for an article about love and relationships. I was hoping and keeping everything crossed that Tia would give herself time and space to heal, that she would stop being so hard on herself and that she would find true happiness and love. As to whether or not she managed to achieve all that, well you are just going to have to read the book for yourselves to find out because I am not going to tell you.
Oh my days, this was one seriously good book. The story is beautifully and sensitively written and I felt the emotions that the characters were feeling. I think that because I identified with Tia over the loss of a parent, her emotions affected me more than the other characters. I frequently found myself developing a lump in my throat as well as welling up with tears as the story triggered memories of my own past. However, more often than not, I was left with a smile on my face and a happy, warm feeling.
‘Snowflakes Over Holly Cove’ is brilliantly written. The author certainly knows how to grab your attention from the beginning and her writing style is such that she keeps your attention throughout the book. The book is written in the present day but there are flashbacks to previous Christmases. This way of telling the tale works really well and the story flows seamlessly. The characters are so realistically written that they seemed to jump off the pages and come alive. I literally began to think of some of them as friends and I cared about what happened to them. At times I did begin to ‘interact’ with the book. Before anybody says anything, I know ‘Snowflakes Over Holly Cove’ is fiction but it is so well and realistically written that I felt myself begin to ‘live’ the story and interact with the characters as if they can hear me.
Reading ‘Snowflakes Over Holly Cove’ certainly felt like an emotional rollercoaster ride of a read. There were highs and lows, shocks and surprises, moments of happiness and sadness and much, much more.
In short I adored reading ‘Snowflakes Over Holly Cove’ and for me, it’s the best of Lucy’s books so far. I can’t wait to read what she comes up with next. Lucy Coleman is right up there on my most favourite and must read authors. I wholeheartedly recommend that you pick up one of her books as soon as you can. You won’t regret it. The score on the Ginger Book Geek board is a well deserved 5* out of 5*.

Tia has recently lost her mother, who she was very close to. Upon returning to work she is given an assignment to interview several couples about how they make their love last. To get all her interviews and research done she has to relocate to a lovely beach cottage which has been rented out for her by the magazine she works for. Once she settles in, she meets some people who wind up becoming very dear friends and more!

This is a wonderful read with all the elements I look for in a book. It was realistic and well written, with a contemporary story line encompassing family, work and romantic issues. Strongly recommended.

Many thanks to NetGalley, the publisher and the author for a review copy. This is my honest opinion.

If, like me, you're a reader who likes to empathise with the story's characters, feel every emotion, and experience something magical as you turn the pages this is the story for you.

Christmas has always been important to Tia, even when her life is hard, Christmas is time to celebrate and escape. After the death of her mother, Tia struggles to come to terms with her loss. Her job is busy, and she hopes this will get her through the grief that threatens to destroy her. Her latest assignment has her living in a picture perfect cottage by the sea, the setting is breathtaking, and straight away she feels its healing presence. Life gets complicated, and she still has Christmas to face, but will Tia emerge stronger at the end of this experience?

The vividly described coastal setting comes alive the first time Tia visits the beach you can feel the sea spray on your face and appreciate the power of the sea. The characters are varied and realistically portrayed, you can imagine having a conversation with them. The perfectly orchestrated romance is lovely and gentle and full of magic in this poignant, story of coming to terms with life's setbacks and valuing family and friendships. There are many lighthearted moments to offset the heartaches, rather like life itself.

A festive read that you can enjoy all year long with characters to treasure in a perfect Christmas card setting.

I received a copy of this book from Aria via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

Escapist, enjoyable and wonderful romantic, Lucy Coleman’s latest novel, Snowflakes Over Holly Cove is a gorgeous tale that is perfect for curling up with and indulging in on a cold winter afternoon.

Most people regard Christmas as a magical time where people come together to celebrate love, family, friendship and community. However, for lifestyle journalist Tia Armstrong, the magic of the season has long gone. Rather than celebrate Christmas, Tia would much rather run away from all the hustle and bustle of the season and hide away until it’s all over. Much like relationships, Tia does not have any time for Christmas, however, it looks like this year might be the year things will change as her latest assignment sees her having to write an article about love and how it is all around us. Is Tia finally going to experience a magical Christmas? Will a Yuletide miracle show her just what has been missing from her life? Or will Tia just end up confirming what she has always believed that the holiday season is simply not for her?

Heading over to Holly Cove and a beautiful cottage nestled amid cliffs and woodlands with waves clashing against the jagged rocks, Tia just wants to focus on her article and not have to think too much about Christmas. However, what she hadn’t expected was to fall in love with the beautiful old cottage on the sea…or to find herself drawn to a rugged stranger who awakens feelings deep within her she thought long buried!

The more time Tia spends in Holly Cove and with the brooding Nic, the more she begins to feel her broken heart heal. Tia never expected a white Christmas or that all her wishes were about to come true, but then again Christmas is a special time where anything can happen and this year, Tia might just finally get that one thing which has been missing from her life for so long: love…

Snowflakes Over Holly Cove is a fantastic read about hope, unexpected blessings and finding love when you least expect it that I couldn’t bear to put down! Lucy Coleman writes stories that touch the heart and invigorate the soul and this book is certainly no different. Poignant, enchanting, romantic and a delight from start to finish, Snowflakes Over Holly Cove has got it all: characters you will adore, humour, drama, emotion and moments that will have you laughing out loud and shedding a tear or two.

A wonderful read I highly recommend, Snowflakes Over Holly Cove is another winner by Lucy Coleman!

Although I found the story engaging, I had chosen this title, thinking this book was set during Christmas, and was not. for this sole reason, I was unable to finish the story. I did like the writer's style, and would be willing to give the author's other works a shot, but this time of year, I can only get Christmas stories to keep my attention.

Snowflakes Over Holly Cove is the first book that I have read by author Lucy Coleman, but it definitely will not be my last. This is a beautifully written book, and the author has a style of writing that will immerse you into the story through vivid details and her in-depth character descriptions. The story takes place in Caswell Bay among the limestone cliffs of the beautiful Gower Coast. This is truly a perfect Christmastime read!

Tia Armstrong lives in London, and is a lifestyle journalist at "Love a Happy Ending" magazine. She has recently returned back to work after the death of her mother four weeks ago. Her boss, Clarissa, is a bit worried about Tia, and decides to send her to the picturesque village of Holly Cove on a six week assignment. Tia is tasked with writing three articles, each one focusing on different aspects of love and relationships. The articles will be featured in the November, December and January issues of the magazine. Inside, Tia is still grieving and definitely far from an expert on relationships. On the outside, there are still bills that need to be paid, so Tia tries to remain optimistic about her new assignment. There is one thing that Tia wonders about...is this simply an act of kindness by her boss, or is there an ulterior motive behind the assignment?

The story that unfolds is simply a treasure to read. I immediately felt for Tia, as the opening of the book is about Tia reflecting on past Christmas holidays, a time when both parents were still alive. This hit a bit close to home for me, as I still struggle with the loss of my own parents, especially the loss of my mom. The loss of a parent is devastating...the pain and emptiness is a feeling that is hard to describe...however, the author captured those emotions perfectly. The Christmas flashbacks literally had me in tears, and brought back so many treasured memories of my own.

As Tia sets out to work on her articles, friendships with the local residents are quickly formed. The supporting characters are well-written and their own stories are quite interesting, which adds to the overall story. The author weaves together a beautifully written story about life and loss, love and hope, and learning to overcome the obstacles of everyday life.

Overall. this was a heartwarming, uplifting, and true to life story. The charming cover of Snowflakes Over Holly Cove captured my attention, and the book stole a piece of my heart. I honestly cannot stress just how much I loved this story!

I would like to thank Aria and NetGalley for allowing me the opportunity to read and review this book. My views are my own, and are in no way influenced by anyone else.

I just loved this book. When I was contacted by Aria, my first thought was "Yes, Lucy Coleman is BACK!" I absolutely adored A French Adventure, her previous book as I felt like I was whisked off to France and my mind was flooded with past holidays holidays there. That was wonderfully summery.

Now, we have Snowflakes over Holly cove. Tia Armstrong hasn't been lucky in life revently. Her mother just passed away and she is feeling at a loose end. She's a journalist at a magazine and has tried to come back to work after some time off. She can't settle though and needs a change of scene. Needs to get away from everything in hectic London.

She ends up at Beach View Cottage on the idyllic Gower Peninsula, in south Wales, a place I fell in love with after a field trip with my A'level Geography class and near to where I ended up studying during time at Swansea University.

I identified with Tia's personality right from the start. I felt she was likeable, had a good sense of humor as well as a realistic approach to finding her work/ life balance (although it is understandable that she lusts after other people's lives, we all do to some degree). I also share her love of hot chocolate with marshmallows, because what's a seasonal story without that? I was happy at the mention of Nicholas Sparks' The Notebook at the cottage as I also loved that book.

Snowflakes over Holly Cove is a sweet story that you will never want to end. Nic the taxi driver was a real character and I felt that I was swwept along on Tia's journey. This is what I enjoy about Lucy Coleman's writing. She has the ability to detail things so vividly and the pace of the story is exquisite. It's really natural, too with things people would do in real life when discovering a new area.

It's a journey physically, but also a journey of finding yourself. 5 stars.

Thanks to Lucy Coleman and Aria for my ARC in exchange for an honest and voluntary review and of course my place on the blog tour for this beautiful title.

I really seem to have a thing about reading books with journalists as the MC. Or, maybe journalists just make for easy people to push into new situations. Either way, this particular journalist starts Snowflakes over Holly Cove with some serious hard break. As Tia has suddenly had pointed out to her: she’s an orphan now. Doesn’t matter what age you are – that’s never an easy thing to handle.
That actually brings me right to maybe my *favourite* point about this book. It deals with working through loss so carefully, so respectfully. Lucy Coleman doesn’t shy away from the ugly parts of grieve – from that feeling of not knowing how to handle anything to maybe getting a little *stupid* because of it.
Snowflakes over Holly Cove tells the story from the last Christmas Tia Armstrong spends with her mum, giving some background to exactly how deep their relationship is, to the next Christmas – her first without her mum. Considering that she’s been working on a Christmas feature for months by the time Christmas rolls around? The reader could easily have grown tired of Christmas already. That, instead, I was sat here just checking my countdown app *yet again* (yes, I’m that person)? Just shows how nuanced Coleman’s writing is.
Now, I know that this book is at least partially a romance novel, but, for once, that is not the main thing making we want to immediately reread this book. Rather, it’s the attention to detail, the beautiful descriptions of the Welsh scenery and of course… That one plot twist near the end. And then that dramatic twist at the end… I honestly was not okay. And need to get back to this book ASAP.
