Three years and it’s time to admit I won’t be getting to this one. Still excited by the premise but we have to be realistic about things.

American West romances tend to be hit or miss with me, and I think this one just didn't quite land the mark. I wanted the hero and heroine to meet so much sooner than they did and I was disappointed by the heroine's naivete (however believable) for such a long portion of the beginning.

I had a bit of a wince early on in the story when an aristocratic lord in 1870’s London criticised his younger brother for ‘hanging out with’ an actress, and wondered if the whole story was going to be full of such contemporary slang. I’m glad I stuck with it, though, because the rest of the book does feel solidly period, bringing the Wild West vividly to life through the lens of Lady Elizabeth, who chooses to make a new life in America out from under the thumb of her controlling eldest brother.

I do feel I should warn readers who may fall rather for Matthew, Elizabeth’s kind and obviously dyslexic brother at the beginning of the book; he gets killed off very quickly, thus leaving her at the mercy of strangers and eventually bringing her into contact with Logan Best, the bounty hunter who’s the hero of the story.

With a wife and child lost to him in the most brutal fashion, Logan enjoys hunting down the lawless who prey on the weak. He was already on the trail of the man who stole Elizabeth’s fortune when they meet, and needs no incentive to take on the job to help her. He’d far rather do the job alone, but she has no intention of being left behind, and out on the trail her determination impresses him despite her previously pampered existence.

The pair seem like an odd couple, and it’s a slow process which sees them come to first a mutual respect and then to love. Elizabeth learning just how hard frontier life is from a farmer’s wife she stays with for a few days was a really interesting glimpse into just what life was like in the era. Because of the few anachronisms and my disappointment that Matthew didn’t eventually turn back up alive, however, I can’t quite give this five stars. I’ll settle for a solid four.

Logan’s Lady is a standalone western historical romance and I have a soft spot for Rosanne Bittner, her books are so richly portrayed and her love stories so emotionally driven and Logan’s Lady is no different. I was curious to see what would happen in this story. I was a bit heartbroken that Outlaw Hearts was over but as soon as I picked up this book I remembered why I fell in love with this author a few years back. She definitely knows how to write her western romances especially the bad boy gunslingers of the wild west. I will say that this couple isn’t together all the way through the story, since there are other plot lines that need to develop before they get together but once they get together sparks fly.

Our beloved story begins with our heroine, who is a lady of the Ton, she grew up with an overbearing brother. but she has dreams of her own, dreams of America and adventure. And when her other brother is kicked out of the house for having a kind heart but causing a scandal, she goes with him claiming their inheritence and heading to America to start fresh. But on her way to America, her brother dies and then she is finds herself without any funds because they were stolen from her by a man that she thought she trusted. But when in defense she ends up killing him, she is in trouble and is rescued from jail by a sexy gunslinger who is also a bounty hunter who is on the hunt for the same men who stole her money and jewels.

Without those funds, she has little hope of surviving in America. Logan is a bounty hunter, lives on the plains and hunts down the criminals. He is very famous for being good with his guns and not many men can match up to him. But when he sees this woman who is desperate but strong willed, he is captivated by her. But he knows how dangerous the west can be, but Elizabeth is determined to prove herself and show her inner strength. While on their journey in their hunt for the band of thieves and murderers, a love develops between two complete opposites, but sometimes passion and abiding love paves the way to a happy ever after that is unexpectedly found.

Logan’s Lady is a breathtaking romance that sweeps you up off your feet and I found this story to be so delectable. I definitely had a blast with this book here and couldn’t get enough of this adventure that Rosanne Bittner takes us on. I think the one downside to this story, is that it takes a while before our hero and heroine meet. Now the author, I understand why she wrote it this way. She is building up the characters, we see both the lives of the hero and the heroine as they slowly come together in the center of the story. I did appreciate how this was written, but I will admit I just wanted to skip to the middle to when they get together because I prefer seeing a couple together throughout the majority of the story. I will say that Rosanne Bittner did a fabulous job though in writing this book, because normally this type of style of writing would drive me crazy but I found this part of the story very informative and thrilling at times and a bit heartbreaking at times as we see what the hero has suffered in his past, and how much conflict the heroine has to rise above.

The romance that builds between these two is pretty close to instant love, within a week they are declaring their love together. But it definitely seems logical for this to happen, they help each other against the conflicts they have to face up to. I did like that these are both such strong willed characters. Elizabeth, she is a bit naive at times, but she makes up for it in courage and tenacity and always willing to try new things and rise above her sheltered upbringing. Logan is pretty badass, and boy I loved him so much especially in how protective he is. He doesn’t allow any woman or child to be hurt. We see his abilities throughout the first half, so you know that he is very capable in helping Elizabeth track down the thieves and con artists. At first there is quite a bit of angst between these two. Elizabeth and Logan do not like each other at first, but help each other but throughout their road trip adventure, we see that angst slowly soften. Logan is more resistant to the relationship than Elizabeth turns out to be because of his past, and their class difference and how opposite they are from each other. But both Logan and Elizabeth soon begin to realize that its the important things that they have in common.

Overall I found Logan’s Lady to be a thrilling adventure from the balls in London to the wild west that delivers a epic love tale of sensuality and courage! AWE INSPIRING

A great story of Elizabeth and Logan's journey. Chemistry between them was good. A few parts weren't to my liking, but overall a great story

The untamed land of the Wild West drew people from many walks of life and became the great equalizer. To survive and thrive, these people had to respect this land and adapt. The author brings the stories of two such people to life and gives them a long hard road separately and together in a dark, gritty and sensual western romance.
Review

Logan’s Lady tells the story of determined, but innocent Lady Elizabeth Baylor who leaves the cold, calculating and confining life in her oldest brother’s home along with her willing, but troubled younger brother to find their dreams in America. When Elizabeth encounters Logan, she has already experienced loss, grief, disillusionment and an education from the school of hard knocks. She wants to recover what was stolen from her and have justice served on the men who robbed her. For that, she needs one of the toughest hard men in the west. She needs bounty hunter, Logan Best.

Logan has lost his wife and child, fought a war, and now his life is bare of anything, but the satisfaction of hunting down the vilest criminals and bringing them to justice one way or the other. He prefers the ‘dead’ in ‘dead or alive’. A spoilt English aristocrat as a riding partner was never in the cards, but his cold heart thaws little by little as Elizabeth sticks it out through rough times and bad, learning and growing from the inside out. He fights it, but she may just be his second chance at love if he can get over his past losses. Meanwhile, a band of raping, pillaging killers are ready to turn things around and make the hunters to be the hunted.

Logan’s Lady is full of lore and attention to historical setting. There is a wealth of background and attention to the greater cast of characters and circumstances. It takes it’s time letting Elizabeth come into her own and for Logan to fall in love. It reads more like saga at times or even western fiction taking a much less romantic view of the west and putting Logan and Elizabeth through the ringer. I appreciate this style of storytelling. I thought Elizabeth was woefully naive at first and wasn’t really into her until the author began the process of change. I could totally buy into this unlikely pair because, while attraction was instant, companionship and love came along at a more steady pace. Now, that said, Logan was a lusty man and Elizabeth lost her inhibitions in private with him. She learned to become a confident lover and a match for Logan in all ways.

Incidentally, I should caution some potential readers. Some rather brutal things happen. Gun battles, sexual assault, and more, but it is not gratuitous and fits the times and setting.

In summary, this is a powerful historical western romance that tosses in some class difference and second chance, journey of the heart and mind as well as the actual trail. I count this author as one of the premier western romance writers and point her stuff out when readers want romance set in a well researched authentic western setting.

My thanks to Sourcebooks Casablanca for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

LOGAN’S LADY is as rich in characters as it is in details of the American West, realistically portrayed with the good, the bad, and the vile on display for all to see.

Lady Elisabeth simply wanted to escape from under her cold, calculating brother’s roof. She saw the American West as her only chance at freedom but the romantic tales of the West are far, far different from the reality. Elisabeth has been lied to and robbed by a man with a handsome face and not one kind bone in his body. Now she’s out for justice and if she cannot have that she’ll have revenge. The one man she’s been told that can provide that is Logan Best… and she’s not letting him out of her sight as he tracks down a scoundrel.

Logan is a bounty hunter that is very good at his job, in fact, he’s more inclined to follow the “dead” part of Wanted: Dead or Alive posters. Taking on Elizabeth may be a fool’s errand but a good paying job is a job to Logan. His heart is as cold as ice and one beautiful lady, even one as naive as Elizabeth won’t change that… until she starts to feel the changes that the freedom of the West brings to people, until she begins to be braver, bolder, more secure in herself and her abilities. It’s not long before this Elizabeth is working her way into his affections, something he never dreamed would ever happen again.

I was easily swept up in this epic saga of Logan and Elizabeth’s adventure. Watching Elizabeth slowly lose that naiveness, to begin to trust her abilities, to learn and grow into a far different woman than she might have been was a fascinating journey. I liked the former Elizabeth, I adored the new woman she becomes. Logan has good reasons for the man he’s become yet one strong, stubborn, determined Englishwoman is about to show him that there are second chances in life… if we grab hold of them. I enjoyed watching the changes in Logan as well. He never loses his sharp edges, but they are softened a bit by his emotions for Elizabeth.

If you love a Western Historical Romance that goes deeper into the reality of the American West in all of the good and bad parts of history then you’ll enjoy LOGAN’S LADY. It’s full of rich details, interesting characters, intriguing storylines and a sense of stepping back in time. I enjoyed every moment in this story and would not hesitate to recommend it to any Romance reader.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

When I saw there was a new book by Rosanne Bittner, I could not wait to read it and I knew it would be amazing! She writes the quintessential western romance that pulls at the heart and warms the soul. This is the story of a woman's longing for adventure by traveling to America and leaving behind the strictures of England.
But as Lady Elizabeth finds out, there are unscupulous men everywhere in the world. Being stolen from, she enlists the aid of one Logan Best, bounty hunter and one tough guy. Logan has had his share of loss and heartache and my heart ached for him. He was a protector of women and children, though a fiece man to be dealt with when it came to injustice As he first meets Elizabeth, he thinks her just a naive lady from England but as they spent time together, her bravery and strong will came out.
These two characters were wonderful and the attraction between them builds up on their journey. I enjoyed every second and page and truly did not want it to end. But be assured, this will go on my keeper shelf to be read again as all of this author's books seem to be and I know you will love it just as much as I did!!

Wow this was my first book by Rosanne Bittner and I really loved it. How the hell have I never heard of Rosanne Bittner before? I truly can't believe this is was the first time reading RB. I'm always looking for good Western Historical Romance authors, and God knows they are few and far between. I'm so glad I seen this book on Netgalley, and gave it a try. You can bet I'm gonna go back and read other books by RB. Logan's Lady was a wild west ride with lots of action, strong women, hard working men, and one hell of a sexy cowboy.
Logan was so delicious. He had the super sad troubled past, and the scarred soul that would make any woman want to heal his wounds. He was rugged, brave, and a protector of women and children. Top that off with his alpha ways, his kick ass gun skills, and cowboy charms, and you have one panty melting cowboy. His past was ugly, and my heart broke for him, but I love how he handled his pain. Hunting down bad guys more dead than alive! Elizabeth was very naive, a rich Lady from England with big dreams of freedom in America. Though she was book smart, strong willed and brave she had a lot to learn about the real world. She lost so much on her trek to America, but she grew so much in this book. I loved that she was honest and spoke her mind and I really liked that she didn't play silly games. Logan and Elizabeth were total opposites, but they complemented each other well. Their relationship was a slow burn, but when it happened was worth the wait.
I loved that this book had a lot of meat. There was plenty of character development and I got good sense of who Logan and Elizabeth were, and I connected with them. I loved them together and once Logan fell in love with Elizabeth he was all in. This book kept me glued to it. Never was I bored. This book didn't paint a cute easy picture of life in early America. The love that the story touched on the ugly and evil that happened, the lawlessness that hurt many people. This book really worked for me. The only reason it's a 4.5 stars and not 5 for me was it took to long for the hero and heroine to meet(over 30% on kindle) and I wanted that sooner. Still a great book and I can't wait to read more from this author. I am hoping she writes more in this world maybe we can get to see how Logan and Elizabeth are doing setting down.

I was grateful t receive a free copy of Logan;s Lady in exchange for an honest review. What a great read. It was one of those books that had a well thought out plot and enough scene development to keep me engaged throughout. I will definitely be on the lookout for more books by Rosanne Bittner.

This book was just an ok read for me. I didn't like Elizabeth at all...at the beginning of the story, she stands up to her older brother and I thought we would have this very strong female lead. But after that, all I saw was a weak lead character that I didn't care for...

I loved Bittner's Outlaw Hearts series and looked forward to this one. I was a huge disappointment. It was almost as if someone else wrote it. I hope the next book that Bittner puts out is up to the standards that I have come to expect from her.

We meet Lady Elizabeth who decides to leave London with her brother hoping to find adventure and new life in America. However naively she meet someone on the ship who lies to her by making her believe that he will marry her only to steal from her leaving her broken hearted (hope she learns to not trust so quickly). She decides to go after him and had Logan to assist her getting back her stuff. Logan was supposed to be a mean bounty hunter only with desire to get his bounty but he quickly changes when he meets and gets to know Elizabeth. These two people grow up which was needed and eventually find love.. Not a bad story but had too much stuff that I truly couldn't have cared less about. And was an instant love to me..Still enjoyable and good enough to past the time.

This is a story about two people who seem unlikely to ever become a couple. What I liked was that there was a lot of action, but also romance. There was chemistry between the two main characters. What I didn't like was that some dialogues felt like a real person would never say thing like that, not even when you consider this is a historic romance.

Rosanne Bittner is known for her epic series, Savage Destiny, Outlaw Hearts, Mystic Indian, or Blue Hawk Series, and her many stand-alone books, however, Logan’s Lady just might be her best accomplished stand-alone book’s to date.

Logan’s Lady has the feel of a great older Rosanne Bittner storyline.
Logan’s Lady is beautifully written with all the drama of the western frontier, her fan’s have come to expect.
Logan and Lady Elizabeth swept me away with their verbal sparring and comical banter. The magnetic pull between them had me falling in love with these characters.

I was so moved by this story as Ms. Bittner weaved Logan and Elizabeth into the fibers of my soul. Their love for one another is what we all long to find in our own lives.
Deception, heartache, and the will to survive out on the unforgiven open trail made this an exceptional western.
A beautiful story of never giving up on your freedom to live your dream.
5 stars!!!!!!
It being set in Kansas, the state I live in made it even more special to me.

Just keep reading!
If you want your villains down and dirty. And your heroes and heroines even dirtier.
Just keep reading!
And if you want to know just how it is that a delicate English rose, and a thorny American bounty hunter find forever in the Old West.
Just keep reading Logan's Lady. The latest offering from Rosanne Bittner.

This is a read that starts out deceptively predictable. With a very young and idealistic Lady Elizabeth Baylor, and her younger brother William setting out for adventure in America.
Determined to leave behind the rules and tyranny of both their domineering older brother, and the English aristocracy.
Only to meet with misfortune long before even reaching the continent.
Leaving poor Elizabeth alone and a literal "deer in headlights.
Innocent, obscenely wealthy, and painfully ripe pickings for the man posing as her newfound protector.

But fear not.

For this where things start to get interesting. As the reader starts to discover just how bad of a "bad man" Elizabeth's supposed savior is. This also where Logan and the lady's paths start to converge.

It is not long after that that 28% Mark (kindle approximation). That the two meet under very dire circumstances. Beginning the adventure earnestly.

Watching Elizabeth gain her sense of self and become a heroine in her own right. As she and Logan travel across the country to right the wrongs that had been done to her. Is nothing less than stellar.
Adding to this is the "Dirty Harry" style vengeance of leading man Logan.
And the utterly heart stopping romance.

This book's plot is one that blends action, romance, and compelling characters with the lore of the Wild West. To craft a story that would be a dream come true to any believer in fated happily ever after.

Reviewer's Note:
Logan's Lady is a standalone novel.

Logan's Lady, was a drawn out read. A lot of filler background story for each person that they met. I skimmed most of part one but I should have skimmed the whole thing. I like to give books the benefit to get better, that's why I always read to the end. Part two was better so I'm glad I kept reading.

Thank you Netgalley for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Lady Elizabeth leaves London with her brother in hopes of finding freedom and adventure in America. On the ship she meets Lord Robert who makes her think he loves her and wants to marry her. Eventually she lands in Denver and finds out Robert is not who he says he is. She meets Logan and convinces him to take her on a quest to retrieve her jewels and fortune.
Elizabeth is a proper, English lady and definitely too trusting and naive. She does grow a bit of a backbone once she meets Logan but the story would have been more interesting to me if she were stronger and less proper.
I thought Logan was a strong character and was depicted as a heartless bounty hunter who only cared about the hunt and his solitude. Once he meets Elizabeth his whole demeanor softens. A bit too quickly for the pace of the story.
All in all this was a well written novel with an intriguing plot and strong characters.
