In Her Sights is the first book in Katie Ruggle’s new series called Rocky Mountain Bounty Hunters. This series is about five bounty-sisters who live deep in the Rocky Mountains and are fighting to keep their family together, as well as save the men they love.

In Her Sights focuses on Molly Pax, the oldest of the bounty hunting sisters, who has worked hard to make their bail recovery business into a success while keeping a roof over their heads. Unfortunately all is jeopardized when their thief of a mother jumps bail and puts their home up as collateral. Suddenly, danger surrounds the family as every criminal in the Rockies looks to bank on their misfortune. In comes John Carmondy, a rival bounty hunter, who Molly has spend months dodging, despite his determination to stay by her side.

The chemistry and sparks between Molly and John are undeniable, to everyone but Molly, but as events snowball, Molly begins to trust her feelings and John to help her and family. But can they have a HEA when everything begins exploding around them? Read it and find out.

This is a great book for the start of another fantastic series from Katie Ruggle. It is written in third person from the point of view of the heroine only. It was the first time I encountered this while reading Ruggle’s books, and while it’s not what I’m use to, I found myself enjoying the book more because the thoughts and motivations of the hero were unknown. Everyone knew, except Molly.

This series has great characters, suspense and a sense of humour. I am looking forward to reading more about the Bounty-hunting sisters as they discover their own paths to love. Book one in this series ends with an epilogue that hints at Cara’s story as being the next in the series. Quite a cliffhanger! I can’t wait!

All the books in Katie Ruggle’s series contain a happily ever after and can be read as a standalone, however, reading it in order will give you a better appreciation for the characters and the series itself.

I really enjoyed this 1st book in her bounty hunters series. It was different from her other books in that there was a lighter tone to the overall story. There was more humor. Don't get me wrong, there was the bombs and crazy stuff, but it was a fun read.

Molly and John were sweethearts. They are so adorable together. I am looking forward to continuing the series with the rest of the family. Another great read from Katie Ruggle.

This is Molly and John's book, Molly is a bail recovery specialist also known as a bounty hunter! John is also a bounty hunter! John always seems to show up when Molly needs him.most she thinks he's out to steal her skips or bounties ! When Molly's sticky finger mother allegedly steals some high end jewels then skips town only for Molly to find out she put their house up for collateral! Molly knows she needs help to find her mother before they take her house and or the bad guys find the hidden jewels that they think is at said house she knows she needs help! This book was actually funny at times lots of action and suspense it seemed it but more light hearted than Katie more hard core books but I definitely enjoyed reading this book! I liked it a lot and can't wait for the sisters books!! Thank you Netgalley and the publishers for sharing this book with me!

Shaky start of a new series by author Ruggle

I've read quite a few of Ruggle's books and enjoyed most of them. This one was kind of hit and miss for me. It seemed to be more bounty hunter lite than I expected (think Janet Evanovich and Stephanie Plum - and there's nothing wrong with that; Evanovich has certainly done well with the premise).

Molly Pax is the oldest of five daughters and has been a surrogate mom for her sisters and her worthless mother since Molly was a young girl. She now has a bail recovery service and is trying to make ends meet and care for the family, all while fighting off the attention of insanely handsome John Carmondy, a fellow bounty hunter.

Then her mother really makes the "mother" of all mistakes and leaves the girls battling to clean up her mess.

A cute dog - check. A handsome hero with dimples - check. Crazy bail jumpers - check.

I just expected a bit more depth to this story. And I especially disliked this cliffhanger ending, which left not just one storyline dangling but multiple ones.

I received this book from Sourcebooks Casablanca through Net Galley in the hopes that I would read it and leave an unbiased review.

Love this book and this author. Her smooth storytelling is one of my favorites. There are no lulls and it amazes me that no matter what I'm reading by her I like it. She is an automatic read for me when I see her name on a book.

Molly and John continually steal each other's skips and verbally go back and forth. Molly is so mean to him but it just makes him smile and that in turns makes her crazy but when her mom has been up to her normal shenanigans and she needs help she has no choice but to accept it from John. Will she kill him, which she expects, or will she be surprised at how they work together? You'll have to read to find out.

This book is funny and serious and exciting all rolled into this storyline with its fantastic characters.

I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This was a fun and riveting start to a new series. One of those “whatever can go wrong, will” kind. Molly was the sister who kept things organized and flowing, shouldering the burdens brought on by their bounty hunting job and their worthless mother. Enter John. He’s laid back and sexy, enough to put Molly on edge and questioning his motives. Their romance built so slowly that I thought it may be a suspense novel with romantic elements – but they finally found time in between crooks and bombs, to get together. Nicely done and while not overly explicit, it fit perfectly with the feel of the story. They made a matching couple, both strong and capable, yet able to lean on each other when needed. Thankfully John had the patience of a saint to put up with Molly and her quirky family. The author made the hunt for clues fun and the explosive danger interspersed nicely with the romance. The teaser at the end has me impatient for book two.

I really enjoyed this book. It is the start of a new series about bounty hunter sisters. I liked all of the sisters and how each had a unique personality and back story. This one focused on Molly. She is the oldest and has always taken care of her younger sisters.

Carmondy is a fellow bounty hunter but he is the competition. He is also a hot guy that Molly tries to pretend annoys her and she can't stand. The story that throws them together is good. It kept me reading and I couldn't wait to figure out exactly what was going on.

It was a 4/5. The next one better come out soon because I've got questions :)

I received an arc from NetGalley and this is my honest opinion. Molly and John are two characters you will fall in love with. John, the Bounty Hunter, tries to work his way into Molly’s heart. Molly the overprotective sister who raised her siblings thinks John is just being a pain and trying to steal all her jobs.

After John steps up and helps Molly during a desperate time, Molly starts to realize what a treasure John is.

An endearing romance by one of my favorite authors.

This is a quirky romantic suspense . Molly and her sisters are bounty hunters. John is a bounty hunter and he wants Molly to work for him. Their witty banter and the dangerous situations that they find themselves in makes for an interesting storyline.

Rocky Mountain Bounty Hunters #1, new series centered on a family run all female bail recovery business. The Pax girls, all five of them, run the business out of their run down Victorian home while their mother unfortunately lives with them, off of them is more appropriate. I so enjoyed this book, it's Katie Ruggles usual style, lots of action with romance and humor. Third person POV but it stays with Molly Pax, it doesn't alternate between characters like her previous books have. I liked that change, normally I am a noisy reader I like knowing everything but this added a certain feel to it that I found I quite enjoyed.

Molly Pax has always been the responsible one, she has been more mother to her younger sisters than their actual mother. Molly, Felicity, and Charlie mainly do the footwork as the bounty hunters while Norah sticks to research and backup, Cara helps out when needed but she's also a full time college student. Everything has been going smoothly until their mother gets arrested, again, only this time it's a big deal and she made bail using the house as collateral. The sleazebag who posted their mother's bail is now threatening to manipulate things so he can take away their house, unless they go after a particularly dangerous skip, Sonny. With no way out it Molly agrees splitting man power between finding their mother who has disappeared and finding Sonny. Molly teams up with John Carmondy a fellow bounty hunter to track down Sonny. What makes Sonny dangerous is his fondness to explosives as Molly and John find out multiple times.

John and Molly have a rivalry going on at least Molly thinks so but John does it so he can spend time with her. Molly is paranoid and thinks John just wants to hire her or steal her skips, she doesn't believe her sisters when they tell her John likes her. Molly doesn't see it until she's working with him side by side. Getting to know him while working so closely together has her feeling going from confused to all in. As they get closer and closer to finding Sonny the more of a mess they seem to find themselves in and her sisters are having no luck in finding their mother.

Overall, this was a fun read another great read from Katie Ruggle. I loved the characters each sister has a unique personality that is sure to make their book just as entertaining as this one. You can't have a Ruggle book without a dog in this case the doggo is a great pyrenees named Warrant and he's a big ball of lovable fluff.

“In Her Sights” by Katie Ruggle wasn't all it was crack up to be. I found myself turning the pages faster than normal and it became more than obvious that this series didn't enthralled me as much as I expected. I'm not saying it was bad but it did lack that little something something to make it more entertaining and engaging for the readers. Moreso, the story felt very slow paced, the romance was barely existent and despite the main characters being Bounty Hunters, which would be deem as exciting in most cases, they were rather dull and boring. Due to the lack worthy excitement, action, and characters with some sort of depth my overall rating of the series speaks for itself.

Really enjoyed this book, it had me laughing one minute and on the edge of my seat the next. I loved the premise of 5 strong female bounty hunters, fully capable of anything. In the first book if the series we meet Molly, the oldest, who is trying to keep everything together when their mum bails on them after committing a crime. The banter between the sisters was hilarious, and I can’t wait to get to know the rest of them better. The banter between Molly and John had me in stitches, and I loved the pace of the relationship, it felt authentic. Plenty of suspense and danger, and ended on a cliff hanger so I’ll be impatiently waiting for Caras story

If I had one criticism, it would be that it would have been nice to get some of the story from Johns POV, however, given that the story is about strong powerful women I can kinda understand why the author chose not to

In Her Sights, is wonderful. The details were perfect. I can't believe that Molly didn't know how John felt from the beginning. He was so supportive and let her do her thing. Where most men try to protect the little lady instead. Like I said, wonderful!

In Her Sights by Katie Ruggle is the first book in her new series and was a wild ride from the beginning.

Five sisters who are bounty hunters are some of the strongest heroines that Ms. Ruggle has written to date. Each one of the sisters contributes to the business by using their personal strengths. Ms. Ruggle used this book to set the stage and introduce each sister as well as John Carmody, a rival bounty hunter, who is extremely interested in the eldest sister, Molly. The plot is swiftly paced, the characters are well developed for a first book and each one of them are very likable. Molly and John have a slow burn relationship in this one that eventually culminates in the ultimate explosion. I was hooked from the first page and read this book in one afternoon. I've never been disappointed by Ms. Ruggle and can't wait for the next book in this series.

John just loves to annoy his woman, "...his smile grew wider. “Don’t pretend like all this”— he made circles in front of his body—“ doesn’t flip your lust switch.” Molly tends to get tongued tied at times, “go to bed. I’m going to shower and then I’ll join you.” When John’s smile widened into something she could only describe as wolfish, she realized her mistake. “As in join you in sleep, not join you in bed.” I liked this book, I loved John.

Thanks to Netgalley for letting me read this book in return for an honest review.

In Her Sights is the first book in the new Rocky Mountain Bounty Hunter series by Katie Ruggle. This story is about 5 bounty hunting sisters, a fellow hunter, and the mother. There were a lot of story lines running through this book and not all of them had an ending. The cliff hanger ending means that I will read the next book in this series to see how she proceeds with the story line. A lot of the time there was to much thinking and not enough action

In Her Sights is the first book in the Rocky Mountain Bounty Hunter series by Katie Ruggle. Bounty hunter Molly Pax fought hard for everything she has, turning the bail recovery business she shares with her sisters into an unqualified success. So when their sticky-fingered mother jumps bail and puts the childhood home up as collateral, Molly's horrified. To make matters worse, every two-bit criminal in the Rockies now sees her family's misfortune as their next big break. She needs help, stat. Enter rival bounty hunter John Carmondy: six feet of pure trouble, with a cocky grin to match. John's the most cheerfully, annoyingly gorgeous frenemy Molly's ever had the pleasure of defeating...and he may be her only hope of making it out of this mess alive.

In Her Sights is has all the elements one expects from a Katie Ruggle book. Women working hard and doing what they need to survive despite some tough odds, and a strong guy that is working just as hard while trying to deal with attraction. Molly was well fleshed out, although I expect that there is more to her story than I fully know or understand even after finishing the read. Carmondy is a much bigger mystery. I feel like I still have no idea who he is, even after he and Molly figure things out. I am used to knowing much more about Ruggle's heros, and I am sad that I have no idea what was going on in his head through the entire book. Watching two great, flawed human being find their way together despite issues, danger, and explosions is what I love about the other books I have read by Ruggle- and I did not get nearly enough of that here. The set up is good, the action is good, and the character building for the secondary characters is good. Those all held up to my expectations, but since I knew so little about Carmondy I honestly expected him to be on the wrong side of things for the first few chapters and kept waiting to see the big reveal. However, I am not giving up on the author, I trust that this might be a fluke and her next book will have me just as engaged with the characters as everything else I have read from her.

In Her Sights is not all I had hoped for. I am a huge fan of Ruggle, and usually find myself fascinated by the characters and what will happen next. With this one I never really connected with the characters, and while the action and story were good, it just felt like something was different from what I usually get.

3.5 to 4 stars
I enjoyed this author's first series, and the premise of bounty hunting sisters appealed to me. Molly Pax is the oldest and mothering one of her family always watching out for everyone, being responsible, and having a plan. She is tough, brave, snarky, and smart. She has four sisters living with her that help out with the family bounty hunting business, and an irresponsible mother who instigates the beginning of the drama in this book. Each of the sisters is unique and have their own special skills.

John Carmondy is essentially her rival. He likes to follow her around, and sometimes they steal each other's skips. He is more easy going than she is, and is a big, burly charmer. They seem to share a mutual antagonism where they argue, taunt, tease each other. It is obvious to everyone but her that he really likes her and his behavior is more like a boy pulling a girl's pigtails to get attention. He is also persistent and protective, and just kind of pushes his way into her life.

When the sisters get pulled into a bad situation, they end up mixed in with an even bigger bounty to deal with along with various other threats. Now that Molly really needs him, John has her back...and she has his. But they have a lot of challenges coming their way.

This is a very slow burn romance told in third person point of view which sometimes makes it harder to relate to the characters and feel like part of the action. I think the author had a lot to introduce in this one with all of the characters, motivations, antagonists etc. and it might have caused the romance and even the suspense to feel more of a sideline at times.

I did like Molly's tenacity and sass. And even though John often did what Molly wanted, he still was a strong and likable hero. I enjoyed their banter, and that even though John was protective, he also trusted her skills. I liked the sisters and the fact that they will have their own stories. They only solved one of their problems by the end of this one, so it seems it will be another one of her series where the overall story arc continue throughout the books. She has set up the base now and there is plenty for them to still have to deal with.

This is the first in a new series for this author. It involves 4 bounty hunting sisters, their mother and a fellow bounty hunter John Carmondy. This story features Molly, one of the sisters, and John.

I enjoyed the chemistry and clever banter between John and Molly. There was some suspense. I was all set for a 4* rating til the ending. There were way too many story line threads left unresolved for me. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy.

So I'm a huge fan of this authors work and couldn't wait to dive into this the first book about a family of bounty hunters. Molly is the eldest sister and from a young age has generally known that her mother is a waste of space. She's a petty criminal, a serial user when it comes to men and now someone who has jumped bail leaving Molly and her sisters to pick up the pieces. As if that wasn't enough to contend with Molly keeps tripping over John a rival bounty hunter who seems determined to stay by her side. Chasing criminals is the least of Molly's worries though as its soon pretty clear that her mother has left the family with far more problems than they ever expected !
Ok this author excels at giving readers interesting, ever so slightly quirky characters and this family of females is no exception. I thought the idea of making them bounty hunters interesting but as they feel so very young I'm not sure how effective the young women would actually be. Yet it did capture my imagination and I enjoyed the build up and odd shenanigans happening along the way. I have a problem though with the romance which really didn't go anywhere until about eighty percent of the story had happened. I'm not a fan of instant romance but this just felt too dragged out and made Molly appear the exact opposite of sharp ! I didn't really detect any chemistry between the couple and wish John had been much more well, honest. This story does have some resolution but the overall story is far from over.
This voluntary take is of a copy I requested from Netgalley and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair
