I received a free eARC of this book from the publisher and NetGalley, in exchange for an honest review. The very first thing I noticed about this book was the beautiful cover. It make a perfect movie poster. Anyways, on to a proper review!

I liked all the characters in the book and found all of the Immortal Girls' backgrounds interesting, but there were some things that really annoyed me. It made no sense to me whatsoever how one of the immortal guys and one of the Immortal Girls could fall in love with each other so quickly, after just meeting each other. Though...I suppose that girl was written as being a little bit more innocent and naive than her sisters.

I feel like this book would have been better if the author expanded on each of the girls' and guys' backgrounds. All of their individual stories seemed to be cut short. The ending also seemed a bit rushed. The switches between characters was confusing., and it wasn't just because the formatting of this e-book was inconsistent on my phone.

Overall, I would still give this book 3 stars!

I wanted to like this one so much based on the story. While the story had possibilities, the writing destroyed them. The story was all over the place, nothing was developed. Dialogue was awful. Serious writing issues.

Firstly, this popped up at the perfect time, I was looking for something shorter and this has 176 pages, so it was the perfect 2 hour read.

This was a good read, short, but not as sweet as I would have liked. The writing style left me feeling as though I could predict each event before it happened, but that being said, it was well written and easy to read.

I thought the description of this book was interesting and the cover beautiful but the story fell short of expectations. The novel jumped from one time period to another and from one point of view to another at a pace that was confusing. Each girl had an incredible story but the author did not spend enough time developing them. Hope as the series goes on the writing structure improves.
Thank you Netgalley for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I was intrigued by the description if book. The cover is beautiful but I did not realize that this was so short; more like a prequel and not a very good one

The book is about 5 girls from different eras and backgrounds who are chosen to be immortal so that they can help mankind fight evil villains, however over a millennium they only fight two. A historical context is provided, but like the book itself it is too short and incomplete. It jumps from time period to time period, which makes the story confusing and convoluted, I feel that it would have been much better written as different POV’s. It could have been a good book, but it feels like it was written by someone in middle school.

1/5 STAR: **This is an honest, unbiased review. I would like to thank the author and/or/publisher for providing an ARC through Netgalley, all opinions are mine.**

What.... what the (heck) did I just read?

Most books, if they're not particularly well written, kinda get a "meh, okay" from me. I recognise they're not fantastic and just dismiss them. Someone will enjoy them.
But a very few books, a very few, make me double take with dumbfounded astonishment. I mean, how BAD can a book be before it is not published?
The answer to that, is very bad indeed.
And Immortal Girls is one of those very, very bad books.

I'm sorry, author, but if I was in your position, I would appreciate knowing. Please stop publishing. Not because your ideas are bad (they are not), nor because you don't have a story to tell (you do), but because you have not yet learnt how to write.
And you kinda need that to publish a book. (Well, apparently you don't, and this kind of mess gets published anyway, but you get my meaning.)

This reads like a high schooler wrote it. -- "This happens and then this happens and after that they did this and then that happened". Where is the exposition? Where is the crafting? Where is the world building or characterisation?
For example -

"Later that night, Skylar and her wolf family were enjoying their dinner around a fire that she had made. Ma and Pa walked off into the darkness by themselves and had been gone for quite a while when the little girl took notice and started to worry."

"When she glanced in the direction of her wolf parents, Skylar jumped back a couple of feet from shock. A man and a woman were with them.."

'"Bethany, there is something that we must do immediately," said Beth.
"Sure, sis, what is it?"'
"We need to go to Amsterdam and retrieve the diary of Anne Frank .... We must honor Anne by doing the one thing she asked..."

Just. I can't even. This is not readable. It is not a story. It is a bunch of words vomited onto pages. Take some writing classes, author, get a decent editor, don't let your friends and family read your stuff (and inevitably tell you it's good when it is not), and good luck and godspeed.

I ended up not finishing this book for a couple reasons.

First, the characters felt entirely inauthentic in the setting. This is meant to be a historical YA fantasy and it felt as if I were reading Gossip Girl and Twilight meet Outlander where the protagonists have somehow just been transported to medieval France without any direction or explanation, despite the fact that the better part of the book is world/origin building. I kept waiting for something exciting, only to be disappointed by the mole hills of build up.

Second, I didn't care for the writing style, especially the dialogue, and that's all down to personal preference.

I had high expectations for this book being a combination of my favorite genres, but it just missed the mark for me entirely.

Thanks to NetGalley for providing the ARC.

*I received this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review*

This book is about 5 girls who each become immortal to with save the world from humanity. The book is set over 1000’s of years and I loved all the different backgrounds and cultures these girls come from. It was interesting to experience different eras like World War 2 and I also enjoyed the references to past historical figures like Joan of Arc and Anne Frank.

I loved how the book was focused on girl power. Witnessing such horrid criminals get their commupance was exciting and I felt myself cheering for the girls.

There was never a dull moment in this book and it was a quick read. I also found myself wanting to know more and I felt like the book was too short for how much was packed into the pages.

Although there are many positives, I also had some problems that really impacted on how much I enjoyed the book. The main one was I found myself getting so confused with all the shifts in time and places and I found it hard to follow. I also found it difficult to keep track of the characters and remembering who they are and what part they play.

Overall, I had mixed opinions about this book. It’s not a bad book and I did enjoy it. However, I had some problems and I wish it had been easier to follow.

Advanced reader copy provided by Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

For a moment, I thought of not finishing this book because I simply couldn't withstand it but to do so is not exactly me as a reader.

I really had high hopes for this book especially considering that Immortal Girls is a historical YA fiction book with a group of strong powerful women as its main protagonists. However, the book let me down as I progressed. I felt that there was not enough heart put into the historical aspect. It's as if the writer simply inserted modern characters into these significant periods in time without thoroughly researching. Not only did the setting put me off but the writing felt mediocre, average, and somewhat cringeworthy. Yet even if I was not pleased by the writing style, I continued to read just for the plot. However, the plot was rushed and you spend half of the story just learning about their origin story. There was little to no character development and I was quite surprised to see some romance in the story only for me to realize that it felt forced.

Overall, I was disappointed with this book because the synopsis made it look like it had so much potential but as I progressed through the story I felt like I was just wasting my time as I got more disappointed on the way to the end.

From beginning to end the book for more intriguing and enticing through and through. The book reminded me of a lot of Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants meets I Am Number Four so it was spellbinding to follow Skylar, Caitlin, Rachel, Beth, and Bethany and their adventures as the Immortal Girls. The book also had some parts that reminded me of The Covenant but with women and they possess a greater power. An addictive book that you will want to keep reading on and on.

Thank you Netgalley and Griffin Stark for the ARC in exchange for an honest review. We will definitely consider this title for our YFantasy collection at the library. That is why we give this book 5 stars.
