The second Simon Riske book was as good as the first. Entertaining read, liked the plot, interesting characters. Only negative was how the book ended, it was so abrupt. Will be intrigued to see what happens in the next book (I would expect another). I have enjoyed all the books by Christopher Reich and this one was no exception.

Sometimes one just falls in love with the character. I love Simon Riske. Christopher Reich's second work featuring Simon Riske is a jewel. Reich is able to transport his reader into a world filled with glamour, sex, gamboling, cars, and exotic locations. Riske, an independent contractor, seems to be in the right--or wrong--place many times. The work is filled with plot twists. It's quite the read. I hope we see more of Simon Riske.
Much thanks to Hachette Book Group and Net Galley for this electronic copy.

I so thoroughly enjoyed Crown Jewel that I sought out the first book in the Simon Riske duo as soon as I completed Crown Jewel. Christopher Reich provides readers with all the luxury and action in this thriller. Riske is a complex and layered, clear voiced character, easy to like. The situations, though far fetched, were entertaining. This book would be a great beach or airplane read. What fun!
I received my copy through NetGalley under no obligation.

WOW!! Bourne meets brilliance in a fantastic story. I'm going back to #1 in this series. Great, great writing!!!!!

Working in a Casino I was drawn to the card game angle and I'm not sure but hey the rest is top notch.

Suspenseful~ Well-crafted ~ Enjoyable

tl;dr: All that glitters on the Riviera can be trouble

Reich has written numerous mystery/ suspence novels, but he was new to me. I chose this book because, somewhere in me, I yearn the riches of the French Mediterranean with its jewels and casinos. Blame Grace Kelly. This book does not disappoint, in terms of riches. Reich's main character is a restorer of bespoke automobiles. He comes from a hard-scramble background, but he is irrestistable. Enter hot heiress. Cue misadventure. This is the sort of book I call an airport thriller. It is easy to read, enjoyable, and fast. The writing is solid and the plotting compelling. Not groundbreaking, but definitely an enjoyable read. Honestly, while I had a sense of the ending, it didn't matter. I enjoyed getting there.

Thanks to NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
