If your a cat lover, this beautifully illustrated book is for you! It is a quick book on life lessons. Each page illustrates the 20 different life lessons that are cat-approved! My favorite tip, life lesson 16; “When the day feels too long, refresh yourself with an afternoon nap!” Great advice! I love naptime!
Thank you to Penguin Random House and NetGalley for this advanced copy! My opinions are my own.

Janet Hill has been one of my favorite Etsy artists for years. When Miss Moon: Wise Words for a Dog Governess came out a couple of years ago, I jumped at the chance to read and review it. I have now bought a copy for myself and gifted it to several kiddos in my life. Iwas so excite dto see Miss Mink was available as well. I consider myself a cat person, though I love dogs too. This book was just as delightful as Miss Moon, with so many cute, quirky paintings of Miss Mink and her sixty-seven cat friends. I love the whimsy of Janet Hill's world, I hope that she keeps writing books in addition to telling stories through her paintings. I definitely recommend this to parents and to anyone who loves a nice art/gift book.

Miss Mink is certainly an odd picture book. The key to its twist though comes on the first page. Miss Mink was successful and wealthy, but still not happy. So, she turned to her cats who always seemed content with their life and sought their advice. The twenty pieces of advice make up the story. Hill's illustrations place the story in the roaring 20s and include an excellent variety of cats.

Among the cats' life lessons are: Find happiness in the little things, Make your goals bigger than your fears, and Show kindness, even to your enemies.

Each of the illustrations show how both the cats and Miss Mink accept and apply this advice. Which adds a lovely touch. As a parent or teacher, I can expand the life lesson to the illustration and life through examples. This isn't a picture book in the "story" way; it is a great philosophical story that gives advice on making life better.

This is an odd sort of "story". It is a list of life lessons, which show the progress of Miss Mink and her attitude in life.

It covers how she aquires her cats, and treats them, including a retired lion from the circus.

The advice given is very true and real, including taking afternoon naps.

The illustrations are lovely, which makes me think that this might be more a book for adults who love cats, rather than a picture book for children. Some of the life lessons that Miss Mink conveys would only make sense to adults.

Thanks to Netgalley for making this book available for an honest review.

Delightful book! I wish I could own as many cats as Miss Mink, but I do follow their advise as well as she does. This book is filled with lots of good advice as inspired by cats. It's a must read by cat lovers, of course, they already know this stuff, but they will enjoy the book nonetheless! Great illustrations!
