Another great book by Dean Koontz! I have really enjoyed the Jane Hawk series! Thanks for the advance copy.

It appears that this book is the last in this series. For me the author left the best for last. Even though I have read the previous books in this series, the author did a great job of integrating the essence of the storyline into this book so that this could have been read and understood as a stand alone. The author's use of words and subtle humor added to the enjoyment of this book.

I have so enjoyed this whole series and am sad that it's over. At the end of each book I was torn between wanting a resolution and looking forward to the next book. I'm glad to finally see how it all wraps up. Just as good as all the others in the series. Loved it!

Book synopsis
1 New York Times bestselling author Dean Koontz brings Jane Hawk's one-woman war to an explosive climax as the rogue FBI agent wages her final battle against a terrifying conspiracy--for vengeance, for justice, and for humanity's freedom.

"Jane Hawk is arguably the best character Koontz has created. Simply put, wow."--Associated Press

Groundbreaking, wholly involving, eerily prescient and terrifyingly topical, Dean Koontz's Jane Hawk series sets a new standard for contemporary thrillers. Since her sensational debut in The Silent Corner, readers have been riveted by Jane Hawk's resolute quest to take down the influential architects of an accelerating operation to control every level of society via an army of mind-altered citizens. At first, only Jane stood against the "Arcadian" conspirators, but slowly others have emerged to stand with her, even as there are troubling signs that the "adjusted" people are beginning to spin viciously out of control. Now, in the thrilling, climactic showdown that will decide America's future, Jane will require all her resources--and more--as she confronts those at the malevolent, impregnable center of power.

My thoughts :
rating: 5 stars all the way
Would I re read this series : a big yes
Its one of my all time series by him
Would I recommended this series : a big yes
Is this a series you have to read in order : yes
What would I tell someone who only read the first book: Don't give up on it , the series keeps getting better with each book

While this is the finial book to the series its the best one out of all of them and I've read and reviewed the hole series since it came out, it does tell you more of a back story about who and what is going on, and you see more of them in action and trying to stop Jane from stopping them and letting the truth be know, you also get to meet new characters that will become favorite ones as well. This series is well written and has non stop action though out it, and it has never let me down ,ever. It pulls you in to the story and won't let go, its also not for the faint of heart and I do have to put out there a trigger warning for those that sensitive , but over all the series is still a great one to read. As your reading it you find out more about Jane and her past as well, and like I said this a stunning conclusion of the Jane Hawk books and you have to read it! , If you love his books then series is a must read. With that said I want to thank Netgalley and the publishers for letting read and review it ,in a change for my honest opinion ,also this was my must anticipated read for 2019 .

In a world in which so many others want to control our thoughts or encourage us to think in a politically correct manner, the premise of this series may not be as much science-FICTION as we’d like to think. Throughout the five books of this series Jane Hawk has evolved, growing into a character with real depth instead of a two-dimensional heroine she could have been. In this, the fifth and final book of the extraordinary series, Jane pulls it all together with the help of some very special friends to combat the thousands who are chasing her for exposing the mind control nature of the Techno-Arcadians which had led to murders, horrific behavior, and suicides (including her own husband). Thank you to #NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read an advanced digital copy in exchange for an honest review.

5 books and about 2400 pages to tell a story that not only has been done hundreds of times before, but better in one or two books. It’s Koontz, so I trudged through all 5 hoping for something different, which I know he is capable or was capable of. Knowing the outcome from the ending of the first book, I was completely underwhelmed. Mind control, world domination, a female ex FBI agent wrongly accused who sets out to end the entire thing. You know what's going to happen and when you reach the completely underwhelming end you feel as though you’ve wasted quite a few hours hoping for some kind of suspense. Not happening here. Sorry Mr. Koontz, try a single volume and an original idea next time.
Thanks NetGalley for allowing me to preview this book.

Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book.

This is Koontz’s fifth book in the Jane Hawk series. Jane is an amazing ex-FBI
Agent on a mission to save the world from the evil Arcadians’ threatening to
take over the United States by controlling the minds of citizens, with new nano technology.

On Jane’s journeys she has met many colorful character. Those characters have believed in her cause and they have helped her to keep her son, Travis, safe.

It was time for Koontz to bring this series to a conclusion. He does so in a believable way. However, I found myself hoping that Jane will be re-instated in the FBI and will find herself in another adventure or two. Perhaps, some of the
characters she has recruited along the way in this series will be included.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an advance readers copy of this book.

Maybe you love the truly literary part of literature, with memorable imagery and searching insight into humanity. Maybe you also enjoy delicious dread in a story. And perhaps you need a faster pace than most literary fiction provides. If all three are true, you can't do better than the Jane Hawk series by Dean Koontz.

Jane is an Everywoman, who also happens to be smart and "kickass" (the most common adjective applied to her character). But I love that she has "heart" as deep and wide as her intelligence, that her fierce vigilance is directly related to her strong maternal ties to her young son, Travis.

I also love that the science of nanotechnology, central to the book, never takes over the narrative. It is always humanity in the forefront.

Where Koontz's skill is best displayed, though, is in the seamless interweaving of four story lines, each installment just long enough to hook us back into that thread of the story, not long enough to slow down the plot, which barrels forward to a terrifying but wonderfully satisfying conclusion to this 5-book series.

This has been a remarkably well written and thought out series, and this newest novel was no exception. If you haven't already read this series, I strongly recommend picking it up. While the story and it's trials are not for the faint of heart, this book concluded wonderfully. I couldn't have imagined a more perfect and satisfying ending to this series. Dean Koontz is a master, and this novel and it's predecessors are prime examples. Each character and story line is so artfully crafted and portrayed. You can't help but fall in love with this entire story. You fear and fret along with these beloved and richly depicted characters as well as celebrate their triumphs. I am so thrilled to have been given an early-access read of this book through Netgalley. Thank you!

I want to be Jane when I grow up! She is kick ass and keeps fighting the fight. She has cool friends and the bad guy enemies are so so evil. If it was a movie there would be times you would look away. Plenty of action that keeps the heart pounding. Dean Koontz has another winner!

I say this with every book in this series, I love this book and this series!. It was so good. I recommend this book at the library I work at. Everyone that I recommended it to also loves it. I knew it had to end but I am sad about that! I can’t wait to read the next new book by this author. This series has been by favorite of Dean Koontz.

What a read! I was fascinated by both the story that unfolded as I read, and by the skill it took to craft such a story. I loved the various story parts of this book that spiraled together to form the complete picture. This is Dean Koontz at his best!

In a story begun when Jane Hawk’s beloved husband, Nick, declared, “I very much need to be dead,” and committed suicide, Jane continues her struggle to stay one step ahead of those who would silence her forever. The arrogance of the Techno Arcadians is all-consuming; aided by the mindless obedience of the many people they’ve “adjusted,” their malevolent plan seems destined to succeed.

Still vilified and on the run, the rogue FBI agent has managed to keep her son, Travis, safely hidden and has obtained proof of the subversive evil perpetrated by the Arcadians in the name of their own twisted vision. But after so much struggle, if Jane wants a hope-filled future for her son, and for future generations, she must now take a final step that could cost her everything.

The fifth and final book in the Jane Hawk series offers sufficient backstory for readers new to the series; a strong sense of place anchors the narrative. Alternating between Jane’s efforts to defeat the insidious machinations of the power-hungry and a tense confrontation between a film director and the billionaire who stands at the helm of the Techno Arcadian conspiracy, readers will find the palpable tension building as the story unfolds. Believable characters, a frighteningly-portentous scenario, an intricately-woven plot, and a riveting cat-and-mouse game all combine to offer readers a pulse-pounding tale of intrigue, vengeance, and unrelenting suspense. Unexpected reveals ratchet up the tension, giving readers an intense, can’t-put-it-down tale that will leave them breathless.

Highly recommended.
