I really enjoyed reading this with my daughter. She found the show Little Lunch randomly on a streaming service one day and became obsessed. It’s a really cute show so I was excited to see they had books also. The book follows the same characters from the show and their fun adventures throughout their school day. My daughter is dyslexic and the book was easy for her to read and follow along with while I was reading to her. She also appreciated the small drawings throughout the book.

My daughter loves the Little Lunch TV series and we were delighted to read the book that inspired the TV show.

The book consists of three stories of three different Grade 5 students and the trials and tribulations of their lives during school recess (or Little Lunch).

The stories resonate with both children and adults alike as they are extremely relatable and told with an understated humour that will have you giggling uncontrollably.

Highly recommended for young readers aged 8-12.

Little Lunch became a family favorite when we discovered the show on Netflix a few summers ago. I loved this book for continuing the story of the Little Lunch gang!

Little Lunch: Loads of Laughs consists of short stories all featured around a school setting. Each story takes place during the lunch/recess time that all kids have. The stories are relatively universe.

Little Lunch: Loads of Laughs reminded me a bit of the Wayside School Series. I grew up with Wayside School, and that series is near-and-dear to my heart. I could see how Little Lunch was trying to emulate that style, but it didn't match the level of quality that I have seen in Wayside School.

Little Lunch fell a little short for me. The quality of writing and illustrations just didn't match what is out there in the children's literature world today.

I read Little Lunch: Loads of Laughs together with my 5 and 8 year old daughters. The book consisted of three short stories, which all take place during little lunch (or recess) at school. We the featured stories did well to represent the main characters featured. We have watched the television production of Little Lunch before having the chance to read this fun book.

I think even without the prior knowledge of the series, this book can act as a stand alone of cute and entertaining stories that have an unlaying message for the children. I especially enjoyed the third story: Germblocked. This one had a good lesson on showcased, how it feels to be excluded and not judging without al the facts.

The illustration were also a great hit with the kids and added to the stories.

All in all both of my girls were actively engaged in the stories and wanted more Little Lunch stories once complete!

Little Lunch: Loads of Laughs by Danny Katz is due to release December 10, 2019.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Candlewick Press and Candlewick Entertainment through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. In my opinion this book was written hastily along with the illustrations looking like they are done by a 2 year old. There was no plot to the story but I guess you could say there was a lesson learned at the end. Sorry, but I did (not did my grandchildren) enjoy this book at all!

Very cute stories that remind me of Wayside School. The lessons learned are approached in a novel way that will entertain many younger readers. It just doesn't work well as an ebook, but I am sure the print version would be better. The characters are very relatable and will encourage readers to finish the book.

Little Lunch: Loads of Laughs was a nice quick read that I enjoyed aloud with my 6 year old. The stories were entertaining for him, and as Mom, I approved of the lessons learned by each of the characters, such as try it before you decide and treat others with kindness. The simple illustrations were enough to keep him interested and often had us both giggling along with the story. I also liked the format of three short stories for the younger kids. Whether reading it alone or aloud, the short chapters gave the perfect natural spot to break without being too long for younger attentions spans. I would recommend this book to young elementary readers and bonus - it's Mom-approved!

I had to look this one up as I had no idea what a "little lunch" was. . Apparently, this book is based on an Australian children's tv show. The chapters are pretty short and the stories entertaining enough for kids 2nd grade to maybe 4th. I think some of the kids will recognize or relate to the characters in the stories. Pretty amusing! The illustrations are fun. Not fancy, just simple line drawings of people and things in the story.

I love this book. It is cute. The kids inside are amusing. Another good thing about this book is the illustration. He drew it well. I hope I can read another book of this little lunch series.

This completely cutie patooty book tells stories about what happens during "Little Lunch" at a school in Australia. Little Lunch seems to be a recess and snack time hybrid.

I think I'd like Little Lunch!

The stories are cute and funny and all have mini lessons about life. I am happy to see that this charming book been made into a TV series!

Thank you to Dany Katz, Candlewick Press and NetGalley for giving me a digital ARC in exchange for an honest review!

Sorry to say the book just wasn’t much fun for me or my grandson. On my recent visit we sat together reading a bunch of books and this one I am reviewing as a promise when I was given by NetGalley. It most likely is since I read it in kindle form. Some books need to be on a wide page showing both at the same time. This is one of them. I think the story was getting better but due to my grandson’s boredom we never completed

This is a cute, funny series of books about what happens at recess (known as Little Lunch in Australia apparently). This is so popular it was made into a tv series, which this particular book matches. The stories in this book, there are three of them, are the same stories as were on the show (which is on Netflix).

They are cute stories too. One is about a boy whose grandmother, his yaya, keeps making Greek food that he refuses to eat, until he find out that it is actually good, and then he eats it.

Another story is about dressup day, and how one child puts on an apron to look like a vet, because she doesn't have a lab coat.

They are short quick chapters, and totally relatable to children around the world. We have all experienced strange food from our grandmothers, and not having the right clothes to dress up in.

Thanks to Netgalley for making tis book available for an honest review.

This book 100% reminded me a lot of Louis Sachar's Wayside School which was one of my favorite books of all time growing up so I knew right from the start that I would enjoy Little Lunch: Loads of Laughs and I most certainly did. There were a lot of similarities of the mischief the students of Mrs. Goncha's class got into compared to the Wayside School students (luckily nobody got turned into apples) but the modern plot twists and the new take on school happenings was really such a joy to read. I can not wait to share this book with not only our young readers but with our parents and teachers, I know they will sure love it.

We will consider adding this title to our JFiction collection at our library. That is why we give this book 5 stars.
