I enjoyed this title, but it felt fluffier and lighter than some of Christina Lauren's other works like the Wild Seasons series. Olive takes her sister's free honeymoon after everyone gets sick from the free seafood buffet, but she ends up going with the groom's brother and her sworn enemy ever since he gave her a weird look for eating cheese curds. It's a thing. But how can you hate a guy after you spend a week with him on a beautiful island? Obviously, you can't, especially when the universe it out to get you and your future boss and his ex both end up at the same resort! Very light, but also enjoyable.

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVED this book. Olive and Ethan make a wonderful couple, and I thoroughly enjoyed the banter between them. A great great book by a great author duo. I look forward to future books.

Christina Lauren's books are always fantastic, but this is definitely one of my favorites! Olive is the perpetually-unlucky twin, unable to hold onto a job or a relationship, while her sister Ami glides through life winning at everything she touches. That is, until Ami's free wedding buffet puts half the attendees in the hospital, leaving only Olive and the groom's brother Ethan unscathed. Ami begs Olive to take her free honeymoon, since there's no sense letting it go to waste. The only catch is, she has to pretend to be married to Ethan, her nemesis. Is a free trip to Hawaii worth it?

It's a rom-com, of course you know how things are going to go. But the dialogue is funny, there are twists and turns that have real repercussions on Olive's life, and you genuinely care for the characters. Looking for something light but not brainless? This is the book for you.

I've read a few of Christina Lauren's other books and enjoyed them a good bit. She knows how to weave a wonderful lighthearted story. This one followed suit with all of her other wonderful works. I absolutely love romcoms, they're an absolute guilty pleasure! If you want a nice, easy weekend read this is the book for you.

This is a wonderful romance for people who don't usually enjoy them. Great, fun read!

The Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren was funny and a great book to feel like you are at a getaway from reality. I am always amazed at how different each new release from Christina Lauren is. The one constant is comedy and romance. I can always expect to giggle aloud.

The main characters, Ethan and Olive have immediate chemistry from the first scene together. I love how the authors can create great chemistry between characters. They create flaws that makes them characters seem more real. Their writing is great, the dialogue moves the story along and the setting comes alive.

I recommend it to anyone who is looking to laugh and wants an escape.

Christina Lauren set us up for lighthearted summer reading with THE UNHONEYMOONERS. The enemies-to-lovers setup is fun: start with twin sisters Ami and Olive Torres. Ami is generally lucky where Olive generally is not, though Olive’s luck unknowingly changes when everyone but she and her new brother-in-law, Ethan, get sick at Ami’s wedding. Naturally Olive and Ethan go on the honeymoon in Hawaii because the trip is unrefundable. Turns out they really click, and once they give in to the idea of a relationship, their chemistry soars. I guess being in paradise helps lower the inhibitions after all. With all of the fun, charming hallmarks of Christina and Lauren’s books, this one is definitely worth checking out.

It starts off slow and kind of dense, but once the action begins, it's hard to resist the story as it drives forward. It reads as a true epic, one that makes you feel the world really has been reshaped as you read it. Would recommend.

Hey y’all!! Long time no talk lol. In an effort to get back on top of things, I thought it’d only be right if I started with the books I’ve read in the past few months. Ever since I finally dived into Christina Lauren’s books last year I’ve come to know what to expect from their novels. I know that I’m going to be in for a fun ride that’s light and easy and just what I need at the moment. This was no different for me, I thought The Unhoneymooners had a fun concept. Plus I obviously loved that we got a bit of relationship of convenience and enemies to lovers here. As with most of the duo’s books there’s ton of fun dialogue, funny situations, and the characters made for an enjoyable read. I do think that there was something missing here though, and to be honest I’ve felt this way about a few of Lauren’s books. Everything goes good until a certain spot and then the love starts to go down a bit for me. I wish we just got a little more out of the characters besides the basics so that way I could connect more, and I thought the angst here was kinda of typical of a romance book and it bored me a bit. But overall this was a classic Christina Lauren book and I flew through it. If you’re looking for a quick and easy read to dive into then look no further!!

Typical story of man and woman who can't stand each other but get thrown together and end up falling for each other. But the main characters were so likable and there was a little more to the story.

Once I picked up my first Christina Lauren read last year (Roomies, in case you were curious), this author duo automatically found a spot on my list of authors whose work I will always check out. The Unhoneymooners falls right in line with their latest releases, which are closer to rom-coms/women’s fiction than their earlier novels, as it chronicles the story of two individuals (Olive, twin to the bride, and Ethan, older brother to the groom) who end up taking an all-expenses honeymoon trip (where they must pretend to be newly married) to Hawaii on their siblings’ behalf after they (and everyone else at the wedding) end up with food poisoning. Olive and Ethan have constantly been at odds since an earlier encounter, but as they are forced to spend more time together, they start to develop feelings for each other… and you can guess where it goes from there. Throw in a touch of drama (which was over the top, and occasionally uncalled for, and not my favorite that I’ve read) and that happily ever after, and you basically get The Unhoneymooners. While this isn’t my favorite of their recent releases, I will say that I always admire how this duo writes couples who have a lot of chemistry. It is, in my opinion, the highlight of this novel, and what really kept me turning pages up until the end! I still had a lot of fun reading this story (which I finished in one sitting on a plane ride), and I’d definitely recommend it for fans of this author duo or anyone looking for a quick rom-com read.

A great enemies to lovers story! This book will definitely be in my top reads for 2019. The banter between Olive and Ethan was brilliant and smart. I had some great laugh out loud moments and was rooting for the two "enemies" from the moment they started their fake "honeymoon".

If you're looking for a sexually tense, fun-filled, entertaining, quick-witted read - Pick this book up.

Light-hearted, cute, funny, enjoyable read. Not much hot and heavy steamy sexy or angst – in fact not much “action” until almost the end. I can do away with the cheating groom man. Other than that, the premise is cute – best man and bride maid went on an unhoneymoon together because the bride and groom fell ill after the wedding. Olive and Ethan don’t exactly like each other so when they are forced to stay in the honeymoon suite for 10 days things got sticky. There are some hilarious banters. Adorable enemy-to-lover romance.

Ahhhhh another Christina Lauren book that blew me away! I love their writing, their characters, their plots are always unique! I just always have a good time reading their books! They consistently blow me away and raise the bar for other romance authors as well! I highly recommend their work if you're looking for good romances to read! They seem to have something for everyone! This was just downright hilarious! I loved it!

This book was a breath of fresh air. Hilariously funny, a little bit sad, and deliciously sexy, The Unhoneymooners, by Christina Lauren, kept me entertained from cover to cover. The pen name is actually a combination of the names of co-authors, Christina Hobbs and Lauren Billings. The two are writing partners, best friends, and internationally bestselling authors.

Olive’s twin sister, Ami, just got married. Everyone at the reception, including the bride and groom became violently ill by contaminated food. Everyone, that is, except Olive and the groom’s brother, Ethan.  Olive and Ethan tolerate each other.

Ami insists on Olive taking their non-refundable Maui honeymoon trip to Maui that she won in a sweepstakes. Meanwhile, the groom offers the trip to Ethan. The two decide they can both take the trip, and stay out of each other’s way. Things get interesting, however, when they have to pretend to be married and in love. Will they go from tolerating to enjoying each other, to love? Or will they remain The Unhoneymooners? Read this delightful book and find out.

An extremely amusing and heartfelt story from two of my favorite authors. Olive's desire to be seen as more than the unlucky twin was sad. I was glad that she and her sister weren't pitted against each other. I also loved her ethnicity being showcased in her body type and her family. Ethan was a worthy male lead. All in all an extremely fun beach read.

This book surprised me on how funny it actually was. I love this writing team. The whole plot was great even though you know how it will end. Enemies to lovers is one of my absolute favorite plots and I loved how it played out in this story. The back and forth between Olive and Ethan was perfection. The story is told from Olive’s perspective. I generally like getting the male POV as well in romances. We got to know Ethan as Olive did. Ethan was a great guy. I might have fallen in love with him right along with Olive. This was a great beach read.

Look, I have loved more Christina Lauren books than I have disliked them. I'm super sad by my decision to drop this one, but after not liking My Favorite Half-Night Stand I'm not going to push myself through this one too.

It all comes down to not being a fan of the characters. I don't quite understand their dynamic or even what type of person Ethan is. One second she's calling him charming and smooth then he is robotic and doesn't understand anything she is talking about. Olive was rubbing me the wrong way as well. I don't mind a rambling character-- I even find them cute and funny on occasion, but Olive will ramble when all she had to do was stay quiet. There is also the thing about her weight. She and her sister look identical, so why is she only calling herself bigger or even mentioning her weight and food. The few times these things have come up have felt awkward and forced.

I need to like characters, or at least find them interesting, in order to like a book. This time around I'm just not connecting with them and it really sucks. I'm to the point where she's met her boss and they are going to go to dinner and cringed even thinking about the four of them at dinner. It will be awkward, she will ramble, perhaps there will be a cute moment, but just thinking about the whole affair had me putting the book down. Perhaps we can chalk this one up to me not being a huge fan of secondhand embarrassment. Part of the reason, why I don't like The Office.

In the end, this is an easy to read book that felt fun and I'm sure many people will like to read this over Summer-- I'll even recommend it to people. It just wasn't working for me and I had to put it down before I ended up disliking it even more.

Christina Lauren is one of my go-to author duos when I want smart writing, witty banter, belly laughs that tend to sneak up on you, and unique storylines.  While not all of their books are rom-coms, no two books are ever the same and I absolutely love them for that.  The Unhoneymooners combines several of my favorites: enemies-to-lovers, a delicious slow burn, snarky dialogue, and adorkable characters you can’t help but love.

Olive has bad luck.  Not only that, her twin sister has all the luck in the world and wins contest after contest, including an all-expenses-paid wedding and honeymoon.  However, her luck just ran out and what was supposed to be the best (free) event of the off-season turns into a horror show when the (free) buffet makes all of the guests disgustingly ill. 

Enter Ethan.  The only thing he hates more than Olive is buffet meals.  In the end, that ethos not only saves him from gastrointestinal ruin, it also gives him the opportunity to take an unexpected and totally free vacation in Hawaii.  The only problem is, he’ll have to figure out a way to enjoy the island without having to spend time with Olive.

The Unhoneymooners is one of my favorite books by Christina Lauren.  I loved the characters, the storyline, the pacing, and the humor.  The forced proximity of the ‘honeymoon’ coupled with the fake relationship they must maintain made this story that much more hilarious.  This was a total joy to read and quickly became one of my favorite reads of the year.  The entire story had me grinning from beginning to end and left me wanting more from these two.

I feel blessed to be given a chance to read the ARC lol. I haven't read a Christina Lauren book before but I knew about the hype and I think this book is a good introduction to the author! The characters are fun. This would be the perfect book to read on the beach!
