I received a copy of Nothing But Trouble by Amy Andrews from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I enjoyed the small town setting of this novel, as well as the main and secondary characters. I liked that the community and kinship was believable between everyone. The main characters, former NFL quarterback Wade Carter and his PA Cecilia "CC" Morgan, had great rapport and hilarious dialogue. Their conflict was CC's desire to complete her employment contract with Wade and move to the California coast while Wade didn't want her leave him, especially not while he was writing his memoirs to publish or dealing with his father's health situation and hometown's issues. Their compromise was that CC would move to his hometown with him for three months and that's where the bulk of the novel took place. Both characters show growth and empathy for each other throughout the novel and a slow burn to romance so that was enjoyable.

Nothing But Trouble is a funny, sweet romance with lots of witty repartee to go along with the small town setting. Credence, Colorado is a rural community that’s also the hometown of NFL great Wade Carter. In retirement now, he’s struggling to write his memoirs. To conquer writer’s block and the distractions of Denver, he informs his assistant CC that they are moving to Credence for the summer to focus on his book. CC is counting the days until she fulfills her employment contract, and relocating to the sticks with her boss wasn’t on her schedule. But, since she’s close to earning enough money to buy her dream beach house in California, she can’t say no.

Wade and CC are tons of fun together. Their bickering is a hilarious form of foreplay, and keeps the story moving. CC is a fantastic, strong character who sticks up for herself, and is one of the few people who isn’t intimidated by Wade. It takes the two of them being isolated in Credence together for them to realize that the sparks between them have been flying for a while.

I’m not usually a fan of folksy, small town romances, but I loved Nothing But Trouble. Amy Andrews’ signature wit and humor shine through every page. Wade and CC are great characters, and I enjoyed getting to know Wade’s family and circle of friends as well as the newcomers to the town. I’m hoping for more books ahead with these fantastic characters.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This is a nice story about a romance between a former NFL star, Wade and his assistant of 5 years, CC. CC is planning on quitting when her boss finds out his dad is sick. So he takes her with him to his families ranch in Colorado.

This causes Wade to start seeing CC as she is and meanwhile CC is planning her getaway while falling in love with the ranch and the small town. This was a really well writtend story with characters I liekd alot. But I really was a little bored with Wade's romance. It had no real issues. I did love his brothers romance much more. I also loved the concept and how they brought more women into the town.

Four and half stars.

CC Morgan has worked for self-centred former Broncos quarterback Wade Carter for nearly six years. Six years of 24/7 catering to his frankly scary Nerds addiction, buying him condoms at 3am, sending flowers to all the women he breaks up, consoling all the women he breaks up with (because heaven forfend he gives women his own cellphone number). Then just as she is about to hand in her notice Wade's father has a heart attack and Wade decides to move from Denver back to the family farm in small town Colorado and he wants CC with him.

Suddenly CC and Wade are living in a small town, getting involved in town politics and opening up to each other in ways they never have before.

This is just heaven from start to finish, CC and Wade are great together, she doesn't take any of his NFL macho BS, she doesn't think he's all that, in return he relies on her and respects her attitude. Amy Andrews at her best, not as raunchy as some of her others but still with enough smexy times to raise the temperature. Funny, sweet, sassy with baby pigs!

Can't wait for the next one in this new series, I want Arlo and Winona to be a thing.

I received a free copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

I had a feeling I would like this book but I didn't realize that I would love it. The chemistry between CC and Wade was explosive and you could feel it coming off your kindle.

They have worked side by side for 5 1/2 years and it hasn't crossed their minds to step over the line of professional boundaries. A trip to Wade's hometown changes all of that in the best way possible.

I loved how clueless Wade was. It was glaringly obvious that he was interested in CC but he didn't see her as a woman, she was his right arm. I loved reading about how jealous he would get when his friends would hit on her but he was so 0blivious as to why he was feeling this way.

I really liked CC. She tried to be helpful and professional but sometimes a woman has just had enough. I admire her for her goals and even though she is making a lot of money working for Wade, sometimes the best thing to do is move on. Too bad a stubborn cowboy/ex-football player doesn't agree.

I highly recommend this book.

NOTHING BUT TROUBLE by Amy Andrews is a laugh out loud book! The humor is fun in this story of a retired NFL QB and his PA. They've worked together for 5 1/2 years, but it isn't until they visit his hometown that they realize they have feelings for each other!

So CC has been working for Wade for 5 years and she has had enough, enough of working for him 24 hours a day, enough of buying candy and condoms at ridiculous times of the day, enough of having to talk to the woman that he uses as tissue paper. She finally has the money she needs to buy a house and relocate to her dream state California. Unfortunately her plans get derailed when Wade decides to live in his hometown for 3 months to help his father out and he was not happy that she gave her resignation he thought she would be with him for a longer time or in his mind forever. These two find out that even though they have never acted on it they are attracted to each other but have been lying to themselves and their family and friends nudges them to admit and not let the other go. The one thing that bugged me is that he claimed he loved her from the first time he saw her,(yeah that does not work for me when he slept with whatever walked) I don't get that and never will, everything else was enjoyable..

CC had spunk and man did I like it, "CC shot him a stern look, folding her arms. “You ever call me your Girl Friday, I’ll kill you and bury your body where no one will find it.” Wade likes to have heart to hearts with his animals, "the dog obviously wasn’t that dumb. “What?” he said testily. “Someone who can lick his own balls has no right to judge.” Wade you know, is a little dense at times, “For eff’s sake, Wade. Do you need an embossed handwritten invitation?” H**l no. He did not." I liked this book, I loved Wade, even if he was slow in certain matters.

CC has been Wade’s personal assistant for almost six years, but she is tired of cleaning up his messes. She decides to quit her job six months before her contract is up, but Wade presents her with a compromise- spend the next three months helping him write his memoirs and he’ll let her out of the contract three months early. She agrees to the compromise, which includes living in the same house with him. During this time, they come to know one another in ways that they haven’t in the past. Eventually, they realize that they have fallen in love, but their way to happily ever after doesn’t come easily! I enjoyed the story enormously.

My only pet peeve involves the frequent use of British slang throughout. The story takes place in the U.S., and I suspect that Americans will be the primary readers. If this is the case, then that needs to be cleaned up.

Nothing But Trouble by author Amy Andrews was a topsy-turvey read. The author manages to switch my sentiments for the main character throughout, while also having me fall head-over heel’s for the many other loveable persona’s within her novel. Wade’s character came across as a spoilt know-all, dispassionate character, a direct contrast to CC who was instantly likeable. In witnessing Wade’s changing facade throughout the narrative, Ms Andrew’s succeeds in switching my sentiments for his character. By the novel’s conclusion I was a fan because of the challenges he faces in the story and his subsequent turnaround. Ms Andrews makes him work hard to earn the likeability and this keeps the reader glued to the pages because of such challenges and his subsequent changing persona. The secondary character’s were a hoot to read, and I could not get enough of their one liners and heartfelt moments. There has to be a story for them as well, pretty please Ms Andrews. ;)
In all, Nothing But Trouble by Amy Andrews is another fabulous read with stand out characters who grab your attention in this not to be missed novel for your reading list.
