This was all over the place and drove me a little crazy, but I loved the ending!

29 Seconds is a twisty and timely read about a woman who is given the opportunity to make anyone in her life permanently “disappear.” All she needs to do is make one 29 second phone call and someone will be gone forever.

29 Seconds focuses somewhat on the #metoo movement. In some ways, it is very timely and relevant. The twist of (view spoiler) adds an interesting layer, but at the same time detracts from the significance of the events.

Since I didn’t love Lies, I wasn’t all that excited to read 29 Seconds. I went in with low expectations and was pleasantly surprised when I found myself enjoying parts of this book. At the same time, I finished 29 Seconds a week ago and it’s already fading--not a good sign. I remember the beginning and ending vividly, but what happens in between is murky. So as far as I can remember, the beginning is fascinating and puts the narrator in an intriguing situation. After this, things slow down and I grew bored. There was the occasional unexpected twist or turn that held my interest and sucked me back then, but then the boredom would occur again. I was in and out during my entire reading experience. The ending though was quite fun and tied everything together!

This was an uneven reading experience: at times disjointed and messy, while other parts were thrilling, suspenseful and entertaining.

I started and finished this book in one day- it was that good! This is my second novel I've read by TM Logan and the way he writes his story I stay wrapped up in the story and can't stop reading. This book addressed gender roles and is very empowering of women. If you want a book that will grab you and not let you, pick this book up today!

29 Seconds is all it takes to make one decision that can change the course of your life. One shocking choice that once set in motion you will never come back from.
This story was intense right from the beginning. This is the second Logan book I have read, and I really enjoyed it. It makes you question everything- who is playing who? I loved the ending! Parts of it might be a little far fetched but if you let your imagination just go with it, it works!

I initially was not interested in this book. The beginning started off strong and then it hit a small dip. But THEN the story took a crazy turn which had me hooked till the end.

Your whole life can change in the 29 seconds it takes to make a phone call. Sarah was being sexually harassed at work. After helping to save a small child she is given the chance to name one person she would like to have disappear. Will she have her harasser taken care of with one short phone call or will she decide to take care of it on her own.

29 seconds. Three conditions. One deal with the Devil. I don’t even know where to start with this book but once it hit midway, there was no putting it down.

I’m curious to know other reader thoughts on Sarah. Here is a woman who is intelligent, strong and trying to succeed in academia. She has a boss who is truly the catalyst for the me too movement. He is untouchable, powerful, a bully and feels entitled to make advances and propositions threatening her and all the other women jobs. Caught in a bad situation and tired of the harassment she decides it’s time to take matters into her own hands but weighs out the war with the consequences.

Upon a chance interaction, Sarah finds herself putting her maternal instincts in drive when she saw a young girl in danger and saved her life. Unbeknown to her, the person she saved was connected to organized crime and in his world, all debts must be repaid. Sarah, not thinking too much about it, rather than just doing what she thought was right, found herself at a crossroads with a proposal that could put someone’s fate in her hands. This stranger gave her the offer of a lifetime. If she gave him one name, they would disappear and her debt repaid. If she decides to go to the point of no return, there’s no turning back and whatever happens will.

Now this hits the midway part of the book that brought such angst and tension. From this point on the book becomes so addicting that it becomes impossible to put down. I struggle with my perception of Sarah because who she showed herself to be contradicts how she handles her decision she makes. Some make say she becomes weak because she knew what she signed up for and the consequences of dealing with her that decision. I’ll let you decide. I wasn’t expecting that ending which gave me such a nice surprise.

Overall, this was fantastic. The beginning was like warming up a car but once it hit the second part it took off and become an instant page turner. The twists kept coming and you’ll not want to put it down. Put this one on the list.

It has not been an easy road for Sarah. Her boss, Alan Hawthorne, has been sexually harassing her, threatening that she’ll lose her job if she doesn’t sleep with him. She’s worked long and hard and is deserving of an upcoming promotion. Plus she’s not sure if her husband is ever going to come home to her and she has two children to support. Sarah is not only up against Hawthorne but also his old boy network and Hawthorne’s advances have become more and more threatening. One night she witnesses an attempted kidnapping of a little girl and takes steps to prevent it. The little girl’s father turns out to be quite influential with some dangerous connections and believes he is now in Sarah’s debt. He makes her an offer that’s hard for her to refuse. A 29-second phone call is all that it will take to make all of her problems disappear.

I seriously could not stop turning the pages of this addictive thriller and flew through it in a day. The position that Sarah found herself in with her boss was very believable and horrifying. When it came to the attempted kidnapping and the little girl’s father’s offer, it did become quite implausible, at least to me, but I was still glued to the pages. The author had me a bit fooled at the end and I thought, oh, no, don’t let it end like that! The end twist is an ingenious one. This is a well-constructed, suspenseful thriller.

i read an ARC (generously provided by the publisher via Netgalley) and it was just so damn good- seriously - the premise was interesting and everything just went together so well- from the onset to the resolution - for me to go on about it will ruin it but trust me when i say it's worth the read

I wasn't expecting this to be about sexual harassment, and it started out very slow, which I wasn't expecting. Then Sarah witnesses an accident which is actually an attempted kidnapping, and the story picks up the pace a bit, which is what I'm used to for Logan's books. I still am a bit unsure of the plot, but it was a bit thrilling nonetheless. You witness and inadvertently prevent a horrible thing from happening, and the person you help feels so indebted to you that they don't know how to handle it other than to 'even the score' so to speak. Therefore they offer you the chance to remove someone from your life for good, and you will never be held accountable for the act. But you can tell no one, ever. Would you do it? Is there someone that annoys you to know end? Someone ever wronged you so bad that if they just disappeared, everyone is for the better? Would you stop to think that they are someone's son...someone's daughter? No? Sarah gets so caught up in this, in analyzing the game of right vs. wrong, and the ultimate definition of ethics - what do you do when no one is looking. This has an interesting twist to it though, bc as everything is spiraling out of control, nothing goes according to plan, and Sarah is trying to deal with everything on her own, which leads to another set of choices and/or consequences. All in all this was enjoyable, very second hand awkward, but not sure I liked it as much as his other book, Lies.

“29 Seconds” by T.M. Logan is a good read. It takes its time setting the stage, Once you push through it the pace does pick up.
She has 72 hours to make a 29 second call.
Sarah is a college professor struggling after her husband has left her, she is supporting herself and her two children.
If that isn’t enough to deal with she is being sexually harassed, threatened and bullied by her “untouchable” boss. Sarah tries to tough it out but her boss’s advances and her job being threatened constantly is taking it’s toll.
One day Sarah comes upon a situation and saves a little girl from being kidnapped. The little girl’s father offers Sarah a reward as compensation for saving his little girl. He gives Sarah a phone and tells her she has 72 hours to call the number, give him a name and he will make that person disappear.
Sarah thinks she can tough things out but the situation and the pressure is getting to much. She reaches a decision, makes the call and thats where this book hooks you.
It is after that phone call that things get interesting. Needless to say things don’t go as planned and there are consequences to be paid.

Essentially, the book is about how things play out after the 29 second phone call, and the consequences afterward. Predictably, things don't go as planned, a bad situation may have gotten a lot worse.

This story has its slow parts and it does get frustrating along the way. It’s like c’mon make the call already!
Once you get to the decision making you are so invested in the plot that the decision to pull through pays off.

A fast-paced, edge-of-your seat thriller that will get your heart racing! I was flipping the pages well into the night to find out what happens next.

Sarah cannot stand idly by when a young girl is almost kidnapped. Not only does she save her, but what she doesn't realize is that this rapid reaction would change her life forever.

When she is approached by the child's father, he makes her the most unusual offer ever: He gives her a phone and says she can make one call with it. This call could be used to make any problem in her life disappear forever. What a proposition! Is there indeed a problem in her life that Sarah would like to get rid of? Besides, that is the stuff of fantasies, right? No one has the power to disappear someone. Because, in fact, that is exactly what Sarah is thinking of.

As a college professor, Sarah's boss is not only strongly coming on to her, he has a reputation of harassing others. Sarah simply is not safe. The man will stop at nothing, and he has the power to bend things to his will. As a single mother of two children, Sarah needs her job, and it might be impossible to find another one. Can she manage to avoid her boss's crude advances?

Whether or not Sarah makes that one-in-a-million call is part of the thrilling suspense this book contains This leads to exciting, cheek-biting twists and turns that made this book utterly impossible to put down. I gladly gave this book Five Stars, just as I did his debut book Lies . T.M. Logan is an incredible writer and I am eager to continue reading his books.

This book blew me away! There was so much going on in Sarah's life. Alan, one of the professors in her department, was pure evil. It was unbelievable what he put Sarah, and all those other women in the past, through. It's no wonder she wanted to make him suffer and rid the world of him.

As an intricate web is woven around her, Sarah's life spins out of control. This book had me on the edge of my seat worrying about her and wondering what was going to happen next. I found myself reading as fast as I could as I raced to the surprising conclusion. I loved it!!

I enjoyed reading this book. It was very different from anything I had ever read about social media and the consequences of being connected to everyone. The real story of a murder and who committed it was very intriguing. I was captivated from the start and found it hard not to think about reading the book each night. The characters were believable and I could relate to them. I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in mysteries that take place in an academic setting, involves sexual harassment and all that that entails, and takes place in our current day and time.

29 Seconds is a unique and riveting psychological thriller.
Sarah intervenes in the kidnapping of a wealthy, but dangerous man's daughter. In turn, he offers her the chance to make one person disappear forever.
Once her decision is made we are taken on a roller coaster ride of plot twists and turns.
Difficult to put down, this novel is a thought provoking and intriguing thriller!

This was a taut and wild ride. It was a suspenseful read that I read in one sitting because I wasn’t able to put it down.

It starts off with a young woman doing an accidental favor for a not so nice guy with connections. He offers her 72 hours to provide a name of someone she wanted gone. Disappeared. Finito.

She goes the route of choosing a name and the twisty and windy road begins. Buckle up because you are about to go on a wild ride.

This was well written and had me on the edge of my seat. I urge you if you want a quick read that will keep you guessing, try this book.

29 Seconds is an utterly amazing fast-paced psychological thriller with a fascinating, original plot. It’s a novel with many twists and turns about sexual harassment which is relevant to what is happening in our society right now. The main character finds an unlikely accomplice who might be able to deliver her from her situation. There is no way you can put this book down! Mind bending suspense kept me turning pages! This is definitely one of the best thrillers I have read in years! Gripping, intriguing, compelling with an absolutely awesome ending! I was fortunate to receive this novel from Netgalley as an Advance Reader Copy in exchange for an objective review.

“29 Seconds” by T.M. Logan wasn’t just a good book, but a very good book! The storyline is unique, in many ways, even though the central theme is an age-old dilemma women (and even men) have faced throughout time. What was so captivating and creative were the twists this story took and the final closure. With a tap on a car window, this story turned another corner which was one I simply did not imagine or see coming. I found myself unable to put this book down, turning page after page to see how Sarah would finally free herself from the potential disaster facing her life, if indeed she could. I highly recommend this book to readers who enjoy a novel that keeps you so invested in the outcome that you simply cannot put it down! (I was given a copy of this book from NetGalley for my honest opinion.)
