Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for an eARC of this book.
3.5 stars

The plot is an interesting premise and there is a lot of good discussion about good/evil, selling one's soul to the
devil. The characters are not really very likable which made it hard for me to get emotionally invested. The plot
moves along until about 3/4 of the way through the book when it becomes tedious. Amazing revenge twist at the
end made it all pretty much worth the read.

Holy you-know-what, was this book awesome! I loved the author’s first book, Lies, and was very excited to read this one and I was NOT disappointed. Right from the start, the reader feels sympathy for Sarah’s situation, and the overall theme is especially timely in the “MeToo” era. But the story really shines when it comes to the suspense aspect: what will Sarah do, and do we really know all of her options? Like his first book, this one has a twist you won’t see coming. I cannot recommend this book enough! For a full review, please visit my blog at Fireflies and Free Kicks Fiction Reviews. Thank you to NetGalley, St. Martin’s Press, and the author for a complimentary, pre-release, digital ARC of this book.

This was a relaxed thriller but not really a thriller. More of a mystery. Essentially, it’s an easy read on your psyche if you’ve been off the deep end reading hardcore thrillers lately.⁣

The book is centered around a huge #MeToo situation when Sarah’s boss is known as a man who gets what he wants. As Sarah constantly follows The Rules and dodges his advances, he withholds her promotion and that sets Sarah off. ⁣

Reeling from the anger and betrayal, she ends up saving a little girl from being kidnapped. The father of this little girl gives Sarah the gift (or curse) of picking one person and he will make them disappear. No questions asked, no evidence left behind. Well we definitely wanna get rid of her boss because #pig⁣

As events start to unfold and her boss starts to get more controlling, Sarah has to find a way to get rid of him once and for all. Is she willing to go to prison to save her pride?⁣

It’s not a great read but it had a great plot twist at the end. Logan wrote a lot of fillers in the book that didn’t need to be present and I believe if there was more focus on Sarah and Alan’s ‘relationship’ then the book could warrant a higher rating.

29 Seconds by T. M. Logan is the story of Dr. Sarah Haywood. Sarah is dealing with everything from a husband that has left to find himself leaving her with the kids. In addition she is being hit on a work where he is getting more physical and threaten to not promote her unless she gives in to him. Then she happens to intervene in when a man and his daughter are about to be struck and possible killed. But this encounter leads the man to take her and offer her a chance to take out someone who she needs to get rid of.
This was mystery/drama filled read. Over all a good story.

I love all of T.M. Logan's work, and 29 seconds was no different! WOW. I wish I could give TEN stars!

This was another great read from T. M. Logan. Thank you net-galley and ST. Martins Press for the advanced copy. I am choosing to review this.

72 hours to provide a name or the deal was gone, if she says a name there is no going back. If you had the chance for one person to totally disappear no questions asked would you do it? I am not sure I would, I think I would feel to guilty and not be able to handle it.

This story is gripping, will keep you sitting on the edge of the seat or at least it did me.

One click this story ! This author is becoming one of my favorites.

One phone call lasting 29 seconds, a call that brought panic, life, death and maybe the end.

Sarah is part of the #metoo movement. A boss with absolute power that has been corrupted absolutely. No longer to able to hold of his advances and seeing other victims that are utterly destroyed, she is given a "gift". She can make her boss Alan Hawthorne disappear. No trace problem solved but is it? Sarah has the support of her father and best friend, a husband that is a no show, and two kiddos that depend on her and is the motivation for her career.

Without giving to much away, the gift becomes a curse and she ends up taking Alan Hawthorne down on her own terms. Will she be destroyed like all the others or will she be able to destroy Alan Hawthorne like he has destroyed so many?

A Special Thank you to St. Martin's Press and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review.

Sarah's life is ruled by her horrible boss. Yet he's untouchable due to a sizable grant and his famous TV show. Driving to get her children from school one day, Sarah rescues a young girl from harm. She does it out of the kindness of her heart, expecting nothing in return. But her act puts a very powerful man in her debt, and he decides that it must be repaid in his own way. He offers Sarah a 72-hour deal: he can make someone disappear with a simple phone call. No traces to her, no repercussions. Sarah's life with her boss is nearly intolerable, but can she really make that call?

"You give me one name. One person. and I will make them disappear. For you."

I went in to this one a little dubious about its premise, and yes, it's wild and crazy and implausible, but it's also one of those fun, addictive reads that you get caught up in and can't put down for hours. It was a whirlwind read, and I totally loved it. The book's story is very timely--Sarah's boss, Dr. Hawthorne is a terrible, despicable character: a poster child for the #metoo movement. Her success and livelihood are tied into sleeping with him. He sexually harasses her, threatens her, and basically does everything awful thing he could do. Your blood will boil when you read this story, and it was honestly stressful at times. Yet the man is untouchable thanks to protective male colleagues and the money he brings in.

"What happened is that it's a business and they've got too much invested in their prime asset to let him go. People like us are just the collateral damage."

Once Sarah is offered her "deal," it seems like the book will go a certain way, but there's nothing predictable about this novel. It's mesmerizing and completely addictive. There are a ton of twists and turns that keep you completely off guard. It's really easy to root for Sarah, as our bad guy stands in stark contrast to her, even if you question a few of her decisions. (And she's awfully lucky to have her father, who sure takes her kids on with no complaints.)

"She saw it now for what it was: a deal with the Devil."

If you're looking for a fun, unpredictable escape, this thriller is for you. It's really an awesome read, and I, for one, loved the ending. 4+ stars.

“29 Seconds” opens with a dilemma; Sarah has to provide a name, and if she does, there is no going back. It is a deal with the Devil that immediately drives readers to desperately turn pages. Sarah works at a university with an abusive lecherous pervert, and women are just the collateral damage. He is a repeat offender who refuses to promote her unless she sleeps with him. Sarah is not the only one who has had problems with her boss; others have as well. Readers listen in on conversations between Sarah and the people she meets.
“’Your wonderful colleague here, Alan Hawthorne, had the university get rid of me when I complained about him. After he spent a year harassing me, stalking me, and finally sexually assaulting me on five separate occasions. And now,’ she opened up the folded paper and flourished it, ‘having tried and failed to ***k me, he’s ***ked my career instead.’”
Something unexpected happens that changes everyone and everything; Sarah saves a small girl from being hit by a car. Nothing will ever be the same again. Sarah has a chance to provide a way out for everyone, an irreversible, a tragic, and a final way out. Will she do it?
Logan creates a desperate situation for Sarah with an unbelievable premise that keeps readers turning the pages, unable to believe what is happening and yet compelled to continue. Sarah has one disposable phone, with one number, and makes one call, 29 seconds long at 5.27 p.m. that takes her down a path of revenge and retaliation. Nothing goes exactly as planned for Sara, and readers follow Sarah as she tumbles into a dark abyss, wondering if she will survive. She did a bad thing, and it is payback time. The pace is frantic and the action non-stop, as everything for Sarah begins to unravel. There is no time to stop, because hesitation brings more and more complications.
“29 Seconds” is a wild ride from the first page, distressing, and intense; the pace never lets up. I received a review copy from T. M. Logan and St. Martin’s Press. I recommend that readers plan their time carefully because once the first page is read, it is impossible to turn the pages fast enough.

3.5 stars. A sleazy, powerful, egotistical man sexually harasses young women he works with and keeps getting away with it. Sarah, his current victim, tries to fight back. After a strange encounter with a mysterious, criminally powerful man, she is given an opportunity to permanently do away with the harasser. She regrets her rash decision and is actually relieved when it backfires and fails. Life gets worse then for Sarah but she finally takes things into her own hands. Ultimately, the harasser, Alan Hawthorne (Professor Lovelock??), gets what he deserves. A timely topic but something about Sarah, the main character, was a bit off . . . a little too weak and whiny maybe?

3.5 stars - After loving the author’s other book Lies, I knew I had to request this book from NetGalley.

29 Seconds touches on a very relevant issue that many women face - sexual harassment in the workplace. I thought the storyline was unique, as the main character helps save a young girl and is then given the opportunity to make a decision that will change her life forever - give a very powerful man the name of the person she wishes to disappear.

The story had me interested enough to want to know how everything was going to play out but it didn’t meet the expectations I had when I started reading this. At times I felt the book dragged but I do think the author pulled everything together in the end.

Thank you NetGalley, St. Martin’s, and T.M. Logan for the opportunity to read 29 Seconds. It was my pleasure to write an honest review.

Thank you Netgalley for an copy for honest review,
29 seconds by T.M. Logan has a very interesting premise. If you could make someone disappear would you ? Sarah was given that opportunity and she had to reside if she was going to do it. And will she get away with it?
It was a pretty interesting read , but there were parts that seem to drag on. For the most part I enjoyed it.

Another enjoyable psychological thriller by T.M. Logan! The ending was thoroughly satisfying after the author frustrates us with all the twists and turns.

5 One Phone Call Changes Everything Stars!!!

This is my first book by this author and I was immediately sucked into the story. Sarah is a woman that’s worked hard to get where she is in her career and everything she holds precious is being threatened and jeopardized because of one man that things he rules not only her life but the lives of everyone around him.

I felt like I knew Sarah thanks to the way Mr. Logan has written this story. We’re brought into her world even for some of the most mundane everyday occurrences like taking her kids to soccer or making them lunch. She’s a woman that refuses to bow down to the pressure that’s being put upon her and then everything changes, and she has an opportunity to change the trajectory of where her life is headed.

This book is filled with such an attention to detail that I really felt like I was there with Sarah and everything she was experience especially in those moments where she questions what she’s going to do to ensure that what’s happened in the past doesn’t continue to be perpetuated in the future.

I absolutely loved how there were “rules” that weren’t to be broken. And these rules crossed over into other areas of her life that really drove some of her decisions and actions. I literally jumped during a certain scene, the intensity was that gripping. And just when I thought I knew how this book was going to end, yeah, nope it didn’t go the way I thought it would…it was BETTER!!!!!

Mr. Logan has written a book that is timely in today’s world and has done it by writing a story that is quick moving, intense and enthralling. This is absolutely not the last book I’ll be reading by this amazing author!

Sarah finds herself in the right place at the right time to rescue a young girl, but this rescue leaves a powerful, shadowy, and potentially dangerous man in her debt. His offer: he can make one person from her life disappear. The caveats: She has to decide within three days, she can tell no one, and there are no backsies if she does decide to go through with it. The reader has spent quite a few pages understanding who Sarah might pick and why. Will she go through with it? What will happen if she makes this deal in my the same way that Doctor Faustus made a deal with the devil?

Sarah is a bit of an unsympathetic character in some ways, but many women have found themselves in a similar situation to some extent - sexually harassed, passed over for promotion so that a younger and less-qualified male could get it instead, not believed when her male boss takes credit for her work - and it is easy to see how she found herself in this quagmire. There are a few unexpected twists and turns that make this a fast and enjoyable read. I enjoyed this book much more than Logan's first book Lies, and I look forward to seeing what Logan produces next.

Not quite 4 stars, but pretty close.

I received an ARC from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

I've been eying this book since its UK release, as I read Lies by the same author and loved it. 29 Seconds was no exception! Sarah works at a university under a very powerful, respected, well-connected man, who unfortunately is also misogynistic, sexist, and constantly harasses Sarah and her female coworkers. Every time someone reports Alan for sexual harassment, they end up forced out of the university with their careers and reputations ruined. After years of this treatment, when Sarah is offered a once in a lifetime chance to make someone in her life "disappear" she can't help but think of how much easier her life would be if her boss wasn't around.

Sadly, even in 2019, situations like this are all too common, even if on a lesser scale, so I could understand Sarah's frustration and hatred for Alan. The author did a wonderful job making him absolutely disgusting, and totally hatable with no redeeming qualities. I was rooting for him to get hit by a bus, or for him to fall off a cliff, and to me, that's a sign of great writing!

While this book is pretty straight forward in the sense that you know who the bad guy is immediately, there are still some twists and turns throughout the story that will keep you hooked and wanting to know how things will end! I absolutely loved the ending of the novel, and I think other readers will too.

Overall, I really enjoyed this one and recommend it for fans of morally grey decisions or suspenseful thrillers with no gore. I can't wait to see what T.M. Logan writes next! I'd like to thank St. Martin's Press for my copy of the book. It was my pleasure to provide an honest review.

"Give me one name. One person. And I will make them disappear."

Sarah, a young college professor, endures months of sexual harassment by her superior, Alan Hawthorne, in the hopes of obtaining a coveted promotion. However, his advances increase and he soon begins to threaten her job if she doesn't comply. After a chance encounter where she saves the daughter of the head of an organized crime syndicate from being kidnapped, the child's father offers to repay his debt to Sarah by getting rid of someone for her. The crime would never be traced to her. She could be rid of Hawthorne once and for all. It's the only way to salvage her career and her family. But is she willing to go that far? And if she does, will she get away with it?

My thoughts? There were a few loose ends and unanswered questions (mostly pertaining to Sarah's husband, who is often discussed by never makes an appearance). but overall I really enjoyed the book. It held my attention and I found myself rooting for Sarah despite the mistakes she made along the way. Of course, I couldn't help but picture Harvey Weinstein every time Alan Hawthorne showed up in a scene. He is a morally repugnant character with no redeeming qualities, and I absolutely couldn't stand him. But does he deserve to die for his crimes?

Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for the advanced copy!

29 Seconds was an absolute masterpiece of a thriller. The build up was perfect helping you understand the background to the event. The constant pressure, the unknown possibilities, the worries and concerns about being the cause. The deal with the devil….

The book seriously creeped me out. I found myself not being able to read the next part, but unable to put the book down. It gnaws at you like a living thing… what will happen next?

It asks the best of questions… would you give a name? 29 Seconds is a thriller of a read!

Sarah saves a little girls life. As a reward, she is given a one time deal to eliminate someone (I kid you not!). She insists there is no one. But, the situation with her boss just keeps getting worse and worse. So in a rash decision she calls in the favor. Takes all of 29 seconds. And…oh wow!

Sarah is a hard-working mom with a job that just never gets better. Her boss is harassing her in more ways than one. Finally, the last straw is all it takes for her to make that one phone call. I have to be careful what I say from here…I do not want to give anything away.

This is over the top good! I flew through this book. It is non stop! Just when you think…you don’t…it twists again. This story just keeps getting better and better as you go along. It is so intense and intriguing you do not want to put this book down. (I hate that cliché, but in this case…it is true!). DO NOT MISS THIS ONE!

I received this novel from the publisher for a honest review.
