When I saw the synopsis, I thought it could be perfect for me. I love romances like that and the idea sounded really appealing.
However, when I tried to get into the book, things got more complicated and I couldn't manage to connect to the story or the characters. I don't say that it was bad but I just think it was not for me. But I'm sure that other readers will have a great time with it.

I was able to read my first Dana Mason book this week thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture who provided me an advanced copy of Accidental Groom in exchange for my honest review. Thank you, thank you!!

Accidental Groom is the first book in the Accidental Love series. This book tells the story of two strangers - Kelley and Mac. Their connection to one another is instant and their chemistry is pretty off the charts. Both leads have somewhat intense backstories, yet they are drawn to each other. Their relationship begins with a fun "no strings attached" weekend together. But, 24 hours after arriving - they're (accidentally) married. Enter the will-they-or-won't-they.

Ok there was a lot that I loved here. First, the novel was well written and the dialogue was fun and felt very fresh. There were bits of dialogue that I actually found myself laughing out loud. My favorite thing about Accidental Groom though was Mac's backstory. It felt so refreshing to have a male love interest with a complicated backstory, especially one that I can honestly say that I haven't seen in new adult romance. I loved the way that this particular issue was explored throughout the book and how it attributed to both characters' growth. The backstory wasn't a quick fix and it was something Mac took responsibility of his past and the decisions that he made. (I don't want to spoil it - it was great going in and not knowing!)

I am very curious to see who the second book in the series is going to be about. I'm hoping it's Mac's sister. (*fingers crossed*) I will definitely be continuing this series and keeping Dana Mason on my radar. Overall, this one gets a 5/5 from me.

Accidental Groom is a new adult contemporary, and it releases on April 2nd, 2019. It is available for pre-order now.

spoilers ahead: Ok so first I wanna say that I totally bought in to the (somewhat) insta-love. Sometimes this can bother me in a story, but here I was all in. I think one of the reasons why is that the author wrote it so well. I loved the scene where Mac leaves to go get food, but basically he's just having a panic attack. He loves Kelley, but it takes him awhile to understand these feelings are love. I love that he shows that he's overwhelmed - he's not freaking out because he doesn't want/love her, he's just dealing with an overwhelming change in life.

I also love how the author handled Mac's alcoholism. The scene where he picked up the drink - ugh I felt like my heart was pounding. I loved how she wrote the scene where he tells Kelley that it's his responsibility and no one is responsible for his lapse. He just really owns his shit, and it was so refreshing. The scene where he calls his sponsor - the way the author writes his tone of voice, his actions - it all felt so real. I have unfortunately seen addiction first hand, and I could really relate to this scene.

Overall - this was a complex new adult contemporary. It's steamy, it's romantic, but it's also filled with complicated characters. It mimics life in the best way. Please give this one a try - go and pre-order it! Let me know if you've read any other Dana Mason books.

It’s my first time reading a book by Dana Mason, but it won’t be the last! Accidental Groom kicks off the Accidental Love series, featuring two strangers with troubled pasts who meet by chance and feel instant chemistry and connection with each other. Kelley, a student, and Mac, a DJ, meet and somehow end up getting married after knowing each other for a matter of hours. They are both shocked by the turn of events, but neither is ready to end the marriage with an annulment before taking a chance to see where things go between them.

It was a fun and fast-paced read. Though there were definitely hurdles thrown in their path, the book is low on angst overall. I really enjoyed getting to know these two characters and the secrets that were revealed slowly throughout the book. The author left me anxious to see who the next book will be about; there are definitely a few supporting characters that I would love to see get their own book. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Let's start off by saying this series started on a high note, then gradually it started to spiral down hill. The entire relationship between Kelley and Mac was obviously instant and a complete joke. In the midst of the story, there was too much happening in a span of 1-2 weeks of their relationship and everything seem rushed and unrealistic. Broken sobriety, drunken Vegas style wedding, roommate sleeping with ex-boyfriend then getting pregnant, the constant back-and-forth between the leads and… I can go on and on to the honest. With the overwhelming atmosphere of the series, I'm surprised I didn't dropped this series since it failed to meet any of my expectations. Unfortunately this wasn't a winner.

Thank you Netgalley for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This romance wasn't as good as I thought it would be. Both characters meet in a coffee shop and the hero is immediately taken with her. He invites her to a festival over the weekend and one thing leads to another. The writing was superficial and cheesy. I was not taken by the couple at all.

I received an advanced reader's copy of Accidental Groom (Accidental Love Book 1) by Dana Mason from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I had never read anything by Dana Mason before this and had no expectations either way. Happily, I did enjoy her writing style and would like to read other novels in the future.

The good: I found the novel to be well written and the dialogue between the characters (primary characters as well as secondary) was amusing. In particular, the banter between the main characters - Mac and Kelley - made me laugh out loud several times. Also, the plot was a bit different (in a very good way) from other romance novels: the male character's scars/baggage was the conflict and drama rather than the (often overdone and boring) female character's.

The bad: nothing really bad about this novel (again, in a very good way). It may have been a known happily ever after, but it was a well written/executed novel with likeable characters. I enjoyed it!

This is Kelly and Mac book , Mac is a superstar radio talk show host, and Kelly is almost the only person who not heard of him! Lol this book was cute, hot, sweet and a really good story! Kelly had soooooo much going on from her past that it was really depressing but the author didn't focus on that to much, so that definitely helped! I highly recommend this book it was really good! Thank you Netgalley and the publishers for sharing this book with me!

Kelley doesnt mind busting her man's balls, “and now you’re going to send me off to class besotted and horny. Kind of a ***k move, if you ask me.” Mac appreciates his woman's line of thinking, “I think we should stop or we’re going to completely destroy your bed. Dirty sheets are one thing, but I can’t get vinaigrette out of the mattress.” He nods at me with a huge grin." I liked this book, I fell in love with Mac.
