MMMMmmmmm.....
I was so excited to read this book! I have read the other books in the series and couldn't wait to find out the ending. It definitely did not disappoint :) I am happy that Lenore got her own story and that she exhibited strong character and overcame some overwhelming hardships. I loved Wanda's use of the prayer jars to bring a family together and help heal some past hurts. It is truly a unique idea. After reading the first book in the series I started putting prayers or verses in a jar on my bedside table every night. I hope many people read this book and are heartily affected by the message it presents.
I volunteered to read this book from Barbour Publishing Group in return for my honest feedback. The thoughts and opinions expressed within are my own.

I have not read the other books in this series but would love to do so now. I loved the characters and learning about the Amish. This book reminds me to trust in God.
Many thanks to Barbour Publishing and to NetGalley for providing me with a galley in exchange for my honest opinion.

Lenore is a special young woman. She has such a sweet spirit around her and her devotion to her grandparents is undeniable. She has let time slip away from her and realizes that she is in her late twenties with no husband in sight. I think she really loved taking care of others and felt it was her calling.
The introduction of Jesse and his sweet baby in the story changes everything in Lenore's life. She finds herself babysitting for Jesse during the summer and falls heads over heels in love with the young child. Jesse is still trying to cope with the death of his wife and raise their child on his own. It was nice to read how Jesse and Lenore became friends and started to develop feelings for each other.
Things don't quite go as planned when Lenore's heart is broken. I liked this part of the story because it pulls in other characters from the previous books into this story. Once again a prayer jar is found and just the right words are read when needed the most. I loved how the words just filled Lenore with peace and hope. The story deals with death, trust, loneliness, misunderstandings and most of all faith.
I am sad to see the series end but have enjoyed the series very much. The characters have become like family to me and I have decided that I want to make a prayer jar for myself. The author has encouraged me to find scriptures that speak to me and write them down. My hope is that someday my prayer jar will bless someone.
I received a copy of this book from the author. The review is my own opinion.

This third installment in the Prayer Jars series is wonderful! While it continues the stories of characters from the previous books, it introduces the story of Lenore Lapp, an Amish schoolteacher. Added to the story are Jesse Smucker, a widower and his daughter, Cindy. What begins as assisting with childcare blossoms into love. Along the way, a long-standing and painful mystery is solved but it will require healing for things to be truly put right. While some readers may choose to read this book by itself, I recommend that the books in this series be read in order to get the most benefit.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader’s Copy of this book that was provided by the publisher through Net Galley. However, the thoughts and opinions presented here are my own.

This is the third book in The Prayer Jars series, and although it can be read as a standalone, I recommend reading the full series in order as there is story and character development that occurs with all three of the books. The series centers around 3 young ladies that all call MaryRuth grandma, whether through blood or love.
Lenore Lapp is our main character in this series. She has moved in with her grandparents due to her grandfather's stroke. She is a teacher and is going to be teaching at the school in her new community. Also new to the community is Jesse and his young daughter. He has left his home in Kentucky for a fresh start after the loss of his wife. He is living in a house owned by a relative, working and trying to find childcare for his daughter. Enter Lenore and MaryRuth. It is summer, so Lenore is not working. With the death of her grandfather, both women would love to have this bopli to keep them busy and to have laughter and youth in the house. Of course the more time Jesse and Lenore spend together, the better chance of them developing deeper feelings for one another. Things do not go smoothly for them and it takes the help of her cousin Sarah, friend Michelle and the prayer jars to help her deal with her problems and feelings.
This was a wonderful conclusion to this series. Some storylines that have been ongoing are tied up nicely in a way that I suspected in the last book. The young ladies have all dealt with some adversity, some more serious than others, and they have to figure out what to do. They doubt themselves and are afraid to give it up to God. This book is about love, faith and most of all, trust. Trust in themselves, trust in others and most of all, trust in God. The quotes, questions and scripture found in the prayer jar get them thinking about what they need to do and it works out in the end. Patience is not always easy to come by, but Lenore and Jesse both learn that time is often what is needed and to trust one's feelings. I loved the characters in this book and series. They are well developed and have problems that most readers can identify with, whether Amish or not. Sickness, death, love, fear, inferiority, friendship, and faith are all things that play a role in the path that Lenore follows. I was sad to see this series end, but very satisfied with how all the loose ends were tied up. If you enjoy Amish Romance, pick this series up, I am sure you will enjoy it.

THE HEALING JAR by Wanda E. Brunstetter is #3 in The Prayer Jars series and is a continuation of THE FORGIVING JAR #2 in the series. Although THE HEALING JAR can be read as a standalone, I recommend first reading THE HOPE JAR and THE FORGIVING JAR by Wanda E. Brunstetter.
This sweet, heartwarming novel set in a small community in Pennsylvania, will tug at your heartstrings. A young school teacher feels that she is destined to miss out on love and marriage. Sara longs to unlock a family secret.
I enjoyed learning about the Amish way of life, and watching the relationships develop between the newly married couples. It was interesting to read the various Amish home remedies, some I have heard before and some were new to me.
This book of love, families, faith, healing and second chances should appeal to those who enjoy reading Amish fiction, Christian fiction, and sweet romance novels.
My thanks to Barbour Publishing, Inc., Shiloh Run Press, and NetGalley for the opportunity to read an advance copy of this book, which enables me to write my unbiased thoughts and opinions in this review.

What a wonderful conclusion to this series by Wanda Brunstetter! I enjoyed getting to know each of the characters in these collections.
Lenore wanted nothing more than to be a wife and mother. When she met Jesse she felt that her prayers were answered. But were they?
The prayer jars had valuable lessons enclosed inside. Lenore, Michelle, and Sara had much to learn from them. Each prayer inside guided their paths. What a previous gift that was given to them. The jars were hidden but they were in places that they could be found. Three jars: three young women who needed to find them.
I love the idea of having a prayer jar. I also think it would be wonderful to have a blessings jar.
Lenore was inpatient with GOD's timing. I think we all have been there at some point in our lives. I was divorced and felt cheated of having a happy home and a husband. But GOD was telling me to wait...I didn't listen. I dated and tried to make the relationship work but it wasn't GOD's plans for me. When I least expected it, I met my husband. The man GOD wanted for me. I couldn't be happier.

I’ve enjoyed the first two books in the Prayer Jar Series and this one didn’t disappoint; it just beautifully sealed up all the loose ends. It can be read as a stand-alone book, but I would imagine the reader would then be inclined seek out the first two! This one is the story about Lenore – she’s decided that maybe God doesn’t mean for her to ever marry and have children of her own, yet she dreams of having children rather than just being the schoolteacher. Precious Mary Ruth, Lenore’s grandmother, has just lost her beloved husband and Lenore has moved in with her as a companion. One of my favorite lines in the book was when Mary Beth offered this nugget of wisdom: “And remember, dear one, prayer is not a business transaction. We don’t give something to get something in return”.
We meet the endearing Jesse with his sweet little one, Cindy. Being a widower, he struggles with the thought of marrying again and his off and on relationship with Lenore.
In each book of this series, the prayer jars have played an integral part, having offered some much needed advice, enlightening insight, and in this book, surprising answers to some long-sought queries.
I received this book from NetGalley thru Barbour Publishing and was under no obligation to write a positive review – all opinions are my own.

3.5 stars
Let me start with that I enjoy reading Wanda Brunstetter books and I have struggled with giving this 3.5 stars. My reasoning is I felt disappointment while reading. In some ways, the prayer jar story seemed like a second thought. Almost like, oh I need to include the jars in the story. Also, the story seemed to drag along slowly. The ending was beautiful and I'm glad everything worked out.
Is it worth your time to read? Yes! Especially if you have read the previous two books in the series. You can read this as a standalone and I think you will be just fine.
I would recommend to others. My 3.5 stars are my opinion and should not be used in your decision to read the book or not. I will continue to read her books. In fact, I have three waiting in the wings.
I received a complimentary copy from the publisher, Shiloh Run Press, through NetGalley. Any and all opinions expressed in the above review are entirely my own.

5 Stars: 5/5 Star Rating
LOVE this book! Readers will find it easy to love the characters in this third in the series. It can be read as a stand-alone.
I received a digital copy of this book from netgalley and Shiloh Run Press in exchange for my honest review. I was not required to write a positive review and all opinions expressed are my own.

I have read the 2 prior books in this series and have enjoyed them. The Healing Jar is no different. Following the lives of Lenore, Michelle and Sara . Each one has a story connecting them to these Jars. Sara is struggling with her past and not knowing who her father is. She is married Brad to a preacher and has a good life but still wants answers. Lenore is at an age where she thinks she should be married. She meets Jesse and his small child and thinks he may be the one. It takes Jesse a while to figure out Lenore is the woman to be his wife and mom to his sweet baby. Michelle is married to Ezekiel . He ask her to move to another state away from the only family she has. Mary Ruth is having to learn to live without her precious husband Willis. Each Jar has verses to help that help each woman with their issue. Until this book we didn't know who wrote them. Mary Ruth recognizes the writing as her daughters. It opens up a lot feelings for her and Sara. It also answers Sara's questions about her mothers past. Each woman in this book has found peace from these jars.

I have thoroughly enjoyed each of the books in this series. I love how there is a blended community of Amish and English in this series and how they live and interact with one another was truly heartwarming. I feel like the deeper I got into the series, the more the characters came to life and felt like dear friends. In a way the storylines melded so well in the first two books that this one almost felt like a third wheel, but it doesn't mean in any way that I didn't enjoy the story as well.
This was a series that I followed closely with an intense need to know how life would turn out for the characters. It's written in a way that you are just as concerned for the supporting characters as you are for the leading roles. Everyone in this book is intricately placed with a specific purpose that validates their presence. I'm truly going to miss reading about each and every one of them.
This is a series I highly recommend starting from the beginning. The books are strongly connected through both characters and storyline. If you were to miss the first two books you would be quite lost in reading this one.
I've really enjoyed my time with this series and highly recommend it to Amish fiction fans.
*I received a copy of this book from NetGalley. Thoughts and opinions expressed are mine alone.

The Healing Jar by Wanda E. Brunstetter was very well written. All the characters were very relatable and loveable, especially Lenore. It told a great story about love, healing and finally forgiveness. I do feel that the story started off slow until the middle of the book when everything started coming together quickly for all of the characters in the book. Other than that it was great read. I do recommend reading the other books in the series to grasp the whole concept of this story since it flows all together.

Beautifully written story by Ms. Brunstetter. Her books never disappoint! Will definitely recommend and re-read this story.

Sometimes, even after reading the first two books, I found myself getting a little confused on the characters in The Healing Jar. Once though I got them all straight again, I was caught up in the story.
Healing needs to take place in many forms throughout this book. Secrets are revealed and hearts are healed, as well as they can be. The hardest part is sometimes not being able to go back in the past to resolve issues and let people know it's ok. Yet, there is a healing there too.
I really loved Lenore's character in this book. She was smart and knew that she wanted a loving relationship. She was caring towards her family and she was hardworking. She would be someone I would love to know.
I really like this book the best out of all three books. It just clicked with me. Great read!
There is a great recipe in the back of the book. That's always a plus!
I was given this book by Net-galley and this is my honest review.

The Healing Jar (The Prayer Jars Book 3) by Wanda E. Brunstetter is the last one in this series, which brings in all the characters from the two books. This is a wonderful series that’s focused on hope, forgiveness, and healing. As in the first two books, this one centers around a hidden jar that contains scriptures to impart wisdom and direction for the one who wrote and placed them there as well as to the one who finds the hidden jar. The prayer jar provides needed comfort and insight to the characters. In this one, long-lost family secrets are discovered, and it’s interesting to see how they impact and change the characters. There is hope and direction for fulfillment and happiness for Lenore as she finds love . Sarah finds her greatest wish come true in the most unexpected way. Lots of hopes fulfilled in this final book and a great way for the series to end……..I received a complimentary copy of this book from Barbour Publishing and was under no obligation to post a review.

Healing after Hope and Forgiveness
"The Healing Jar", written by New York Times best-selling author Wanda E. Brunstetter and published by Shiloh Run Press continues the story with the wedding of Sara and Brad. It is the last book in the 3-book series that plays mainly in a moderate Amish community in Strasburg, Lancaster county, Pennsylvania. Lenore tries to deal with the trials her grand-parents are facing and wonders if God even hears her prayers. She is the third one (after Michelle and Sara) to discover the jars that contain scriptures, prayers, and personal notes. Her grandmother encourages her with the statement: "We must learn to trust the Lord, even with things we don't understand. As we go through troubles waters, it should strengthen, not weaken, our faith. And remember, dear one, prayer is not a business transaction. We don't give something to get something in return." The story takes some twist and turns and presents some unexpected surprises such as Jesse saving Leonore's life.
"The Healing Jar" is another great Amish novel, a well written book with believable inspirational characters who have to deal with life's challenges. It ties all the three volumes together. I highly recommend the book, but advice, in order to truly understand it, to first read the previous volumes of the series ("The Hope Jar" and "The healing Jar). It also includes discussion questions which can be used for personal reflection, in a small group, or in a book club and the recipe for Lenore's Pineapple Philly Pie.
The complimentary copy of this book was provided by the publisher through NetGalley free of charge. I was under no obligation to offer a positive review. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

The Healing Jar by Wanda E. Brunstetter is the third and final book in the Prayer Jar Series. If you’ve read the previous two books, you must read the final installment. It won’t leave you disappointed. Although this book focuses more on our newest character, Lenore Lapp, we also are able to visit Michelle and Sara once again, too. 🙂
In this book the main character we focus on is Lenore Lapp. Lenore is a gentle and kind soul, and now it is her turn to live with the Lapps since Michelle and Sara have both married. She is now living with her grandparents, Mary Ruth and Willis. Willis health is shaky and Lenore helps them. However, deep down Lenore is wanting more out of life than being a school teacher and helper for her grandparents. Although she enjoys being with them, she is searching for some one that will love her unconditionally and start the family she desires. She tells herself that if the Lord wants her to have the family she desires let it be and if not let the desire be removed.
Jesse Smucker, recently widowed, has come to Stratsburg with his nearly 1 year old daughter, Cindy, to get away from all the memories of his late wife. Jesse holds a strong attachment to his late wife and does not believe anyone can fill the avoid of his wife, Esther. Until one day, Jesse meets Lenore while on summer break. His daughter, Cindy, grows instantly fond of Lenore, and soon Mary Ruth and Lenore become the baby sitters for this precious little girl. Jesse also sees the need of Cindy needing a mother and feels that Lenore would fill that void. Due to his attachment to Esther, it would be a relationship based on convenience. Would Lenore agree to such an arrangement, a marriage based on convenience and not love? Jesse must learn to understand what his feelings are or will he risk a great friendship?
I don’t want to go any farther than that, but the novel takes a few twists and turns and it gets very interesting. We also get to have some answers solved for Sara and see how Michelle is handling her married life with Ezekiel King. Since I don’t want to spoil anything, you will just have to find a copy to read for yourself.
I don't want to forget to mention that I received a complimentary copy of this book from Barbour Publishing and was under no obligation to to post a review. I want to thank them and the author for giving me the opportunity to read the last installment of this great book. :-) I'm so happy I was able to read this series and I definitely recommend reading them all in sequential order. :-) These books would be great for any young adult audience looking for a good clean novel.

I really enjoyed the first two books in this series but I had a very hard time getting into this one.
It was nice to catch up with some of the characters from the previous two books and meet a few new introductions. Lenora is now living with her grandparents as both Michelle and Sarah were before her when she finds the prayer jars.
I love how the same jars, with the same words affected the three women differently as well as mean differing things for them in their faith and life. This is something I have always loved about scripture and I think the author did a great job conveying this.
Also mystery solved. We find out who wrote the notes in the prayer jars and who Sarah's father is. Something I've been wondering and guessing about. I was right about one.

Lenore, patient, caring, dedicated, is happy caring for her grandparents and family and finds satisfaction in teaching at her local Amish school. However, the emptiness of not having a husband and family of her own weighs heavily in her heart. She places her trust in God’s plan for her, but can’t help but wonder what her future holds.
Newcomer single father Jesse, is recently widowed and nursing a still hurting heart. He is intent on a fresh start but needs someone to watch his infant daughter while he’s working. Lenore agrees to baby sit for him, and immediately falls head-over-heels for the precious child. It’s not long before Lenore starts to have feelings for Jesse. But are her feelings reciprocated?
Soon, Jesse begins to think of Lenore as good wife and mother material. His head tells him she’s the ideal spouse but his heart has yet to open up. He thinks he has the perfect solution, but when he reveals his true intention, will Lenore consent?
While the focus of the story is Lenore, we get to spend time with Michelle, Sara, and the other characters we have grown to love. We find forgiveness, answers and gain closure – it is the perfect wrap to the trilogy.
Wanda Brunstetter gracefully threads the importance of trust and faith in God’s perfect plan, and weaves them into the stories of these genuine and beloved characters.
The Healing Jar is a beautiful heart-catching story of devotion, hope, discovery, trust, forgiveness and leaps of faith. Anyone who reads it will be touched by genuine joy.
Thank you to NetGalley and Barbour Publishing Inc. for the read of Wanda E. Brunstetter’s, The Healing Jar.
The opinions expressed in my reviews are my very own.
