A belated review with my apologies.

I actually found this a little hard to get into at first, I think if a few more honest covnersations were had at first then it might of solved a few issues before it got to a year later.

It does however get better so please keep with it, it runs into a lovely heartwarming story.

Very much christmas-y and festive. Giving me hallmark vibe, but enjoyable nontheless.
I enjoyed it, but also it was missing something.

Is there such a thing as a perfect Christmas?
Author of warm, funny romantic fiction, Phillipa Ashley presents her book "A Perfect Cornish Christmas", published by Avon Books UK. It is the second book of the series that takes place in Porthmellow. Scarlett Latham hadn't felt lonely, lost, or more alone when she entered the Smuggler's Tavern in the Cornish harbour town Porthmellow on Christmas day 2018. The plan had been a family Christmas at Seaholly Manor when she found out that she was only Ellie's half sister. Now Scarlett's plan was to look for her real father. In reality Julian Mallory, Scarlett's father, took advantage of Anna when she was hurt, depressed, and drunk. But what is his relationship with Ellie who has also her secrets? Anna Latham, the mother of Sharon and Ellie tries to convince Scarlett of the importance of the fact that her husband, Roger Latham, took care of Scarlett all of her life and is far more important than her biological father. To make things even more challenging there are also Aaron Carman and Jude Penberth and the question arises what roles are the playing in the whole story.
This was the first book of this author which I read and I am looking forward to more books from here. I like this Christmas story with its ups and downs of life, it is realistic with its precious and great characters. I highly recommend it to readers who enjoy a lovely realistic Christmas read.
The complimentary copy of this book was provided by the publisher through NetGalley free of charge. I was under no obligation to offer a positive review. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Unfortunately this book was not for me. I had initially marked it as 'will not be giving feedback on this title' instead of writing a review, but since not writing a review affects my overall feedback ratio - which does not seem fair since I read the book and simply didn't enjoy it and don't see the point of writing a review - I am changing it to a 'review' for the sake of not having unfinished books sitting on my shelves and dragging my ratio down. Since I'm simply doing this for Netgalley, I won't be rating or reviewing this book on Goodreads or elsewhere.

I really didn't enjoy the story that much . It wasn't bad, but wasn't interesting at the same time .
The writing style wasn't gripping , I found it boring in many scenes .
The characters and plot weren't remarkable.

Christmas in Cornwall is just around the corner…

But after last Christmas revealed a shocking family secret, Scarlett’s hardly feeling merry and bright. All she wants this Christmas is to know who her real father is.

So Scarlett heads to the little Cornish town of Porthmellow, where she believes the truth of her birth is hidden. She just didn’t bargain on being drawn into the Christmas festival preparations – or meeting Jude Penberth, whose charm threatens to complicate life further.

Everything will come to a head at Porthmellow’s Christmas Festival … But can Scarlett have the perfect Christmas this year, or are there more surprises on the way?

Great Christmas read.

I will be 100% honest. I actually didn't finish this one. The language was hard for me to keep up with. No fault of the author. It just kept throwing me.

I loved the idea behind the story though. A genetics test gone horribly wrong ripping family secrets wide open. YIKES!

Lovely series set in Porthmellow with a group of interlinking characters, focusing on one or two stories each time. Really enjoyed them all.

A welcome return to Porthmellow, with Scarlett in search of her roots. A lovely Christmas treat, with a delightful Cornish setting.

When Scarlet and Ellie buy a DNA kit for their father for Christmas they think it will be a great present as he has always been interested in his ancestry., but when they produce the results showing that they are only half sisters all hell breaks loose... so who is Scarlet's real father? The following year Scarlet joins Ellie down in Porthmellow in Cornwall where she is convinced that the answer to her parentage lies but how will she get to the truth?

Another lovely story by this writer and great to be back in Porthmellow to catch up with previous characters. There is plenty of intrigue and red herrings to keep your interest and keep you guessing until you get all the answers

I was so pleased when I discovered Phillippa Ashley had written another title set in the delightful Portmellow Harbour. The colourful collection of characters that make up this little town are fantastic and I loved this story as much as the last one with the Christmassy theme giving it an extra little edge. I was sad to leave them all behind and hope there is a return to Portmellow in the future.

A Perfect Cornish Christmas is the second book in the series, but I didn't feel like I was missing too much with the story.

It's Christmas in Porthmellow, and Scarlett takes a DNA test, which has unforeseen consequences for her family, tearing them apart.

Scarlett feels like an outcast from her family for the next year, but starts to reconnect with her sister before the following Christmas, and moves to stay with her down in Porthmellow, where she hunts for someone she is related to, who she is sure is there.

It was a cosy, enjoyable read, perfect for a light Christmas read.

A Perfect Cornish Christmas  was published on 31st October 2019, and is available on  Amazon  and  Waterstones .  I've found a  link  to where you can search for local bookshops, including independent!

A charming Christmas read that left me with a warm glow.

Ashley is one of my go-to authors she combines the perfect amount of funny, cringeworthy, serious and heartfelt moments to make the most wonderful feel-good reads.

The characters are fabulous, they really jump off the page making you feel like you are part of Porthmellow's community and their festive frolics. Brimming with, humour and heart this is the perfect holiday read.

Thanks to Avon Books UK and Netgalley for sending me this in exchange for an open and honest review.

I was so excited to be approved for Phillipa Ashley’s A Perfect Cornish Christmas being that I loved the first book this series! Although one may think this book is all about Christmas it follows our characters through a whole year. There are holiday elements in it, but not as much as one would think, so this book can picked up year round. I do wish there was a bit more of a Christmasy feel, but I loved it none the less.

It was easy to connect to the characters bro as they are very relatable.

A Perfect Cornish Christmas was a nice, easy festive book to read. A great second book in the series but could also be read as a stand-alone book. Another great book by Phillipa.
