Bought Bride for the Argentinian was a good read and I enjoyed it. Alejandro and Emily needed to overcome some misunderstandings because of a lie to should him. Now Alejandro is out for revenge but in the end could he have gone too far. Emily said a little lie but she never forgot her first and only love. I thought that he was very hard on her and he wouldn’t listen to her but I understood him I don’t know if I would be able to trust a man after a lie. Their journey is going to have bumps on the road but in the end she leaves him and he will be have to come with terms that he is in love with Emily.

A big thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin Presents for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. I found this to just be an ok book. I couldn't connect with Alejandro or Emily. They seemed nice but I just didn't care. 3 stars

A good wholesome harlequin book. The plot was confusing at time s and slowed down often before jumping again.

Emily Green fell in love with Alejandro Sabato as a teenager, and gave the maid's son her virginity. When her step-father forced her to kick him to the curb, she broke her own heart to do what she felt was best for him, never realizing that her step-father had gone a step further, firing Alej's mother.

Years later, when her step-father dies, he leaves her a horse in Argentina with no means to care for it. Alej steps in and offers to care for the horse for a price. He wants Emily to use her PR skills to reform his image. When she suggests that he marry to prove he has settled down, he insists that she be the bride. He's convinced she's nothing but a greedy, snooty gold-digger who had no use for him once he performed stud-service for her. She knows he hates her, but she never loved anyone else. What happens when their chemistry cannot be denied?

In spite of his autocratic ways, I liked Alej. He worked hard to get to where he was, and overcame a beginning that no child should have to endure. Emily was caught up in circumstances she could not control and was forced to hurt the one person she had ever loved. I liked that she wasn't willing to let Alej walk all over her, but found myself wishing she could have set him straight sooner.

I liked this story. Sharon Kendrick's books are usually must-reads for me, so there's that, too.

Bought Bride for the Argentinian by Sharon Kendrick is the story of Emily and Alejandro.
Emily didn't have the perfect life at all. Emily's father wasn't good but her mother was always looking out for herself. They only real happiness Emily had was helping with the horses and her best friend Alejandro that when they go older turned to lovers. But Emily's family would never allow such a thing between them so Emily thought to break her heart but at least set Alejandro free. But now in the present day Emily come to say goodby to the place and animals that made her happy but of course she runs into Alejandro again. Ajejandro is out to get back for the hurt that Emily caused but can he go through with hurting her?
Loved their story.

I struggled to finish this book, picking it up and putting it down many times. I'm having a hard time pin pointing why I struggled. The writing was good. Plot was maybe a little slow. I think I just had trouble connecting to the characters and truly understanding their viewpoints and motivation. Overall, an OK story. *I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley and this is my voluntary and honest review.

I nearly didn’t read this one because the woman on the cover reminded me too much of Ivanka Trump. Actually, even after completing the book I think she looks completely wrong for the heroine!

I was going through a bit of a Harlequin Presents thing recently because of discussion in a private writing group, and I worked my way through the review copies of upcoming books.

Bought Bride for the Argentinian is classic Presents – as you would expect from Sharon Kendrick. I liked a lot of things about it, and I liked that the author came up with a way to make her “down on her luck” heroine have a lot of strength and ambition, despite her circumstances.

Reunion romances are my favourites, so I loved that aspect of the story, too.

There were some editing issues that created inconsistencies. An example: the heroine tells the hero about her job in PR – and then a few pages later, during the same conversation, she’s shocked that he knows she works in PR! Harlequin has some of the best editing in the business, so I was a bit surprised by these little issues.

A portion of this book takes place at the Melbourne Formula One Grand Prix, and as I’ve attended almost every one of those races since the mid-2000s, I could definitely nitpick, but I won’t. The one thing I’ll say: drivers don’t go out partying the night before they have to *race a car* at hundreds of kilometres an hour. They get paid tens of millions for their skills, and they take it seriously!

However, this book delivered on the Presents promise, and will be a fun, quick read for fans of the line.

Rich girl/ poor boy trope. Emily loved the boy who took care of the family's horses-Alejandro. But her mother and step father are horrible people and she ends up breaking his heart. Fast forward 6 years later and she's come to say goodbye to her horse.

By now Alejandro is the rich one-and a bit of a playboy. He's going to make Emily pay for how she broke his heart. Only he ends up falling for her again.

I love a second chance at love-this one had a lot of regrets and anger and past feelings.

Emily has come to revisit the ranch she grew up on and say goodbye her beloved horse. Her memories of life on the ranch were not all pleasant. She grew up with a mother who was always searching for "love" and riches. Emily never really had the nurturing mother she longed for and her step father was unkind and cruel. But growing up on the ranch there was one saving grace for Emily and that was the ranch hand who took care of the horses, Alejandro. Growing up he became her best friend but as she matured that friendship turned into love. They became lovers, but that wasn't going to work with her mother or stepfather. So Emily made a decision, under extreme pressure, that shattered her heart as well as Alejandro's.

Emily returning to the ranch before it was sold was to say her last goodbyes and put to rest her love and regret of how things ended with Alejandro. If only she could turn back the clock, but to little too late. Or was it?? Alejandro show's up, successful ex polo extraordinaire and now successful business man. A man with a reputation of being quite the playboy.

Alejandro, has a plan and Emily is part of that plan. He was heartbroken when she dumped him and in a manner that shattered his heart and closed him off to all relationships. But it's payback time, he needs his reputation to be cleaned up a bit and Emily being a PR executive is just the person to assist him, as his fiancé. He'll take care of her horse and what she cares about most, but in return she will play the role he deems for her.

The romance between these two is filled with angst and a lot of past hurt. Alejandro has a lot of bitter and hurt feelings he never resolved about his break up with Emily. He's going to make sure she pays, but as he spends time with her he finds himself realizing there was a lot of good and wonderful times in their relationship. Emily is dealing with guilt and regret in her lies and the role she played in their breakup. She is also trying to resolve all the issues she has with her mother and her upbringing as well as her stepfather. So the tentacles for Emily with her issues deal with several different people and circumstances. They go through a messy and convoluted stretch at the beginning of their reacquaintance, but as they slowly peel back the layers and past they begin to realize that they still love each other and are willing to work through all their baggage and untruths.

This was an angst filled read. With a lot of blame to go around and more communication being the key to mending their hurt and broken hearts. I was frustrated in that if only they were more open and talked more it would have been a more satisfying read and romance (but again this is HP land so maybe not). The pacing was good and characterization was fairly well developed.

*ARC received from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review*
You can't go wrong with a Sharon Kendrick book. Bought Bride for the Argentinian features a billionaire alpha male, a long lost love and plenty of hot steamy romance. A definite 3.5 star book for fans of Harlequin Presents books.

Wow this story was absolutely perfect from start to finish. It’s a rare event when I give a book five stars but this book was perfect! Alejandro the dark, rich, handsome brooding Argentinian was angry, his life had been hard and Emily was the soulless woman who hurt him the most. You know he was going to go far in his way of getting revenge. But you know the old saying, the bigger they are the harder they fall. Emily knows she’d made a mistake with Alejandro but she had been eighteen years old and her parents had forced her, but she had love him six years ago and she loved him now. I started reading this book yesterday at 9:00 pm- big mistake because at 1:00 am I was still reading. I recommend this book highly.
