Another great read by Lapena. There’s a murder in the neighborhood with plenty of likely suspects and plenty of suspects as well. Who done it!? She keeps you guessing until the end,

Typical Lapena! Couldn't put it down and did not see all the twists and turns! She never disappoints! I have a list of patrons waiting for this one and they currently hate me for reading it before they can. Love Lapena!!

Fun, fun, fun!!! I literally felt like my head was spinning by the end of this one. I just don't see how there's any way anyone could figure this one out--maybe who the killer is, but not the how and why. The tension and buildup that Lapena is able to create is truly masterful.

Olivia lives in a lovely quiet neighborhood. She's happy enough with her husband and teen son. But then the lady down the street goes missing. And then she finds out that her son is a hacker and has been breaking into houses. She and her husband and their lawyer decide no one needs to know, but Olivia can't let it go. She writes anonymous letters to her son's victims, apologizing on his behalf.
Soon, what seemed like suburban paradise begins to show its darker side. Everyone has a secret, and I do mean EVERYONE.

Like I've said before about this author--this is not great literature or anything, folks. But Lapena can tell a crazy fun story. Take this to the beach this summer and forget the world around you for a few hours. You won't regret it!

I became a huge fan of Shari Lapena last year and now wait impatiently for her next book. I am never disappointed! Most mysteries you can get a sense of what is going to happen within the 2nd chapter. Lapena’s book keep you guessing until the end. The characters are likeable and the plot was very believable. The characters in Lapenas books leave an impression and I think of them often. I finished this book in one night, I couldn’t put it down. The only complaint I have is there is a wait for the next book.

Well paced, with nuggets of information coming just close enough together to stay interesting, but far enough apart to stay suspenseful. This author shows marked improvement from her first novel (I I don't remember having any feelings about the second).

There are a few authors whose books I always love and Shari Lapena is one of them. Every single book is very good and worth your time to read. When I saw Someone We Know, I got my hands on it to review and read it in one sitting. Such a great premise and a page-turning story! I really didn’t know how it was going to end.

Maybe you don’t know your neighbors as well as you thought you did . . .

“This is a very difficult letter to write. I hope you will not hate us too much. . . My son broke into your home recently while you were out.”

In a quiet, leafy suburb in upstate New York, a teenager has been sneaking into houses–and into the owners’ computers as well–learning their secrets, and maybe sharing some of them, too. Who is he, and what might he have uncovered? After two anonymous letters are received, whispers start to circulate, and suspicion mounts. And when a woman down the street is found murdered, the tension reaches the breaking point. Who killed her? Who knows more than they’re telling? And how far will all these very nice people go to protect their own secrets?

In this neighborhood, it’s not just the husbands and wives who play games. Here, everyone in the family has something to hide . . .You never really know what people are capable of.

This is a quick and compelling read that I completely enjoyed from start to finish. Not a single boring moment! If you haven’t read any books by this author, do so now!

Order here, due out on July 30.

I've decided that Shari Lapena is my new favorite author! What an amazing book. I could not put this down. I loved all of the characters (any anyone with a teenager in the house will too). Loved the suspense and the twist at the end of "who done it". Thank you for the advanced copy. I have recommended this to everyone!!

Ooohhh this book! AMAZING! Just when you think maybe you have it figured out, the twists and turns keep you guessing.
How many secrets can one neighborhood have? If you live on this block in upstate New York, turns out a lot.
Raleigh Sharpe, a computer whiz teenager, has started breaking into his neighbors houses to hack into their computers. When his parents find out, his horrified mother sends an anonymous note to the only two houses Raleigh is willing to admit to. This sets off a chain of events that ends in an explosive ending that destroys many of the families.
Someone We Know is told though many different viewpoints. It's hard to keep track of all the secrets, but I read it so fast, I was able to.
A great thriller, and I highly recommend it.

Lapena's new book deserves 10++ stars!!! This book is a HUGE tangled web of deceit, secrets & lies among a neighborhood of so called "friends." Shocking twists and turns with every page & NOTHING is totally revealed until the end!! Wow...this book is one big fun roller coaster ride! I've always been a fan of Lapena's but this has to be her best yet.

I have recently become a big fan of Shari Lapena. This book does not disappoint. It's really a story about multiple families and the secrets that are kept within the families and the neighborhood. You learn as you grow up and gain more experience in life that things are rarely as them seem. It also explores the depths that family go to to protect their own. I loved this book. Her books are always a fast read because they hook you into them. The characters are likeable and the plot is very believable. Thank you very much for the free copy in exchange for an honest review!!

Although it is trite, the best compliment I can pay a mystery is “I couldn’t put it down.” That is exactly the reaction that I had to this engaging read. I love the way Lapena uses the title to signify so much within the book.

In a tight knit, suburban community in New York, Amanda and her husband move in and become the catalysts for a total shake up. At first, Amanda is missing, but every mystery reader knows where that is going. The spotlight is turned on every community member to discover who was responsible. There are constant twists and red herrings, all logically inserted to keep it moving.

I enjoyed this even more than her prior novel. Yes, book clubs can have fun with this. Lapena gave us a great summer mystery. Thank you Netgalley for sending me such a great read.

I really like the way Shari story tells. It makes you feel as if you are truly there on the front line watching the drama unfold. Every last one of the characters we were introduced to was a hot mess. Out of everyone I kept thinking Glenda is the only one who has any sense. They were full of gossip, jealousy and pure drama llamas. I loved every last minute of it. This book portrays very well, how well you don’t know your neighbors, friends, coworkers and even family. You truly do not know what is going on in someone’s life. It kind of ended in a way that was a cliffy. I think it was a way to give you thought. All I know is that it had me thinking for days of all the possibilities.

First book by Shari Lapena I've read, but it won't be the last.
Very well written, kept me guessing, and still surprised me all the way to the end.
Character are well written. I didn't want to put the book down. Just wish had more time to read. But I still read this one in just a few days.
Thanks to #NetGalley for given me the chance to read #SomeoneWeKnow and be introduced to a great author.

I devoured this book in two days. Like all Shari Lapena books, this was interesting, suspenseful, fun and a fast read. I liked the plot and the characters were developed enough o relate to. The style was slightly different than her other stuff, which I appreciated. The ending was a big surprise and part of me is sad I finished it so quickly!

I couldn’t put this down. Tautly written, tons of red herrings, and great pacing. Perfect for beach reads, book clubs, and anyone who wants a fast-paced mystery!

4-5 stars! A great domestic drama, but I felt that something seemed off, maybe the fact so many were involved in so many different things, or even the writing itself, but even with that I still plowed through it eager to know where this thrill ride would take me. I loved how real the characters were, in their actions and thoughts, but did find that sometimes it was a bit over explained, which is why I didn’t give a solid 5 star. I do think many of Lapena’s fans, and those who love a good thriller/domestic drama book will enjoy it!
Will make sure to recommend and use in a challenge in Chapter Chatter Pub!

I really like this author! I've now read all of her books and I think this one was my favorite. Very well written, complex characters that all seem to have motives to murder, and an engrossing plot. This one kept me guessing until the end.

Kids will be kids, right? A little breaking and entering isn’t that big a crime. Or at least that’s what Olivia Sharpe tries to tell herself when she discovers her son Raleigh has been breaking into neighbor’s houses, looking at their personal things, looking at their computers, learning all their dirty secrets. Meanwhile, Robert Pierce has reported his wife Amelia has disappeared, but police are suspicious right away. And they should be. From the scary and searing beginning of this book, I was hooked. Lapena is a master at creating intrigue and fear in the most banal of locations
