A really enjoyed this book in the series. The characters are interesting and I really like the main character, she seems like the kind of person you'd want to be friends with. It was a good Christmas book too, lots of cozy to the mystery. I hope to see this series continue for a long while.

I have been really enjoying this series. In this one it is Christmas in Charm, North Carolina and it is snowing. Everly is baking and her aunt is running for mayor. During her Christmas open house the current mayor is found dead outside and her aunt is the prime suspect. Everly decides to solve the murder and clear her aunt's name. I really enjoy the town of Charm and all the fun characters. Spending the Holidays there just makes it more fun. The mystery was good and there were enough suspects to make it interesting. I look for word to reading the next book and visiting Charm. Enjoy

Book 3 in the Seaside Cafe mystery series is definitely the best book yet in the series! I thought I had the killer figured out pretty quickly in this (and I was right!), but that did not take away my enjoyment of the story itself. While I wasn't her biggest fan at the start of the series, the main character, Bree, is growing on me and I absolutely adore her beloved aunts. I am excitedly awaiting the next book in this series!

An engaging and enjoyable cozy mystery. I love the small-town vibes and the fun sorts of folks who show up in this town. Everly again proves to be a smart and sassy sleuth and the murder kept me guessing throughout the story. I really enjoyed the seaside setting and the details about Everly's tea blends in her sweet-tea shop, just as I did in the first two mysteries.

I really appreciate that this series is clean and I think I've gotten at least two other people hooked on it to. I'm looking forward to the next book and getting to read more about Everly and her friends.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for a free reading copy. A favorable review was not required.

Tide and Punishment is a great, cozy mystery! I enjoyed this book a lot. There are some good twists that will keep you guessing until the end. I feel like this book had the best of both worlds; Christmas and mysteries! I will definitely check out more by Bree Baker.

Another fun installment in A Seaside Cafe Mystery series! I believe this series is best if read from the beginning to get to know all of the characters. The mystery was well planned and I really love reading about the delightful town the book set in.
I have enjoyed all three book in the series but was disappointed to find in my ARC that there weren't recipes at the end of the book as there was in the first book. I look forward to more books in this series.
I voluntarily read and reviewed this book via NetGalley.

I love everything in this series I want to spend summer in Charm N.C. I must say Lou the sea gull is my favorite character, probably because I grew up on the coast and there are always seagulls. The storyline and mystery kept me reading and there the twists and turns that kept me from knowing who the killer was. If you love the beach and a good mystery then you will love this book

"Tide and Punishment" takes us back to Charm, North Carolina, a coastal town on the Outer Banks, where Everly Swan runs Sun, Sand, and Tea, an iced tea shop, in her historic home. The holidays are rapidly approaching (a theme that especially resonated with me this year with the short span between Thanksgiving and Christmas), and her days are awhirl. She’s got a progressive dinner appetizer course to plan, cookies to bake for half the island, and her delightful—but unmanageable—elderly aunts to keep in line, Fran and Clara. Aunt Fran has recently gotten obsessed with garden gnomes and started painting them for everyone.

Everly hosts a Christmas party where friends and customers can sample her delicious treats, hopefully tempting them to place orders before Christmas. Mayor Dudley Dunfree is there, being his usual vainglorious self, and Aunt Fran decides to let him and the other guests know that she is planning to run against him for mayor in the next election. But it turns out that the mayor’s re-election won’t be an issue. When guests leave the party, the mayor’s body is discovered on the snow-covered ground—and Aunt Fran is holding a bloody garden gnome nearby.

Detective Grady Hays is soon there to investigate, and he and Everly frequently tangle during the search for the killer—when they’re not busy keeping their feelings for each other in check. Everything sure looks like Fran had means, motive, and opportunity to kill the mayor, but in her heart, Everly knows her aunt couldn’t possibly have committed the crime.

Tea lovers will enjoy reading about a beachside tea shop that keeps twenty different varieties of iced tea on tap, even in December, as well as the occasional hot beverage for those who need warming up. When Baker writes about snickerdoodles, sugar cookies, and peanut butter cups filling the air with the scents of sugar and spice and everything nice, it’s easy to forget about the murder—but someone around town seems intent on framing Fran, and broken garden gnomes have developed an ugly habit of popping up all over town. Whether you’re ready to leave Christmas behind or not, I highly recommend that you prepare to be charmed by the Seaside Café Mysteries by Bree Baker, because I’m certainly looking forward to her next one.

Charm, North Carolina is absolutely charming and as sweet as the tea that Everly brews in her tea shop. Equally sweet and a little bit sassy are her Great-Aunts Clara and Fran, especially Fran who planned to run against the current Mayor. Clara has a goal of her own as she has plans to create and give away a multitude of gnomes this holiday season. Unfortunately neither the gnomes or Mayor Dunfree survive to see Christmas and Aunt Fran is suspect #1. Officer Grady Hays must do his job regardless of what he might feel for Everly and Everly will not stop pursuing the killer until her Aunt Fran is exonerated. To make matters worse the local gossip column the Town Charmer is not helping matters as the pot gets stirred up. Then on top of that, the Outer Banks is blanketed in snow and the honorable Senator Denver, Hays' deceased wife's mother is coming to town to make sure her Grandson Denver is doing well given the new home and recent loss of his mother. So many moving parts, but that won't stop Everly from getting to the bottom of this next installment of a Seaside Café mystery. You have to admire that kind of dedication to family and to her heart. Great read and an unexpected villain to boot.

Tide and Punishment by Bree Baker is the 3rd book in the Seaside Café mysteries and its Christmas time in Charm and Everly Swan finds herself in the middle of another murder and this time someone she cares about is the prime suspect.

I enjoyed this one just ass much as the first two and Christmas at beach was a neat setting I don’t think I’ve read a book with Christmas in a beach town.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher through netgalley. I was not required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are mine alone.

This was my first visit to Charm in the Outer Banks but it won’t be my last. I am in love with the idea of an iced tea shop and all the characters. I’m happy Tide and Punishment was my first visit. It was so magical with the snow on the island.

I have a new book boyfriend and his name is Grady. Hubba Hubba. He sounds just about perfect. Tall and sexy with a dark, sad side you want to love away.

I’ve already bought the first book of the series, Live and Let Chai, to read.

I received a complimentary copy from the publisher, Poisoned Pen Press, through NetGalley. Any and all opinions expressed in the above review are entirely my own.

This is a fantastic addition to the series and will make for a great holiday cozy mystery! I love Everly and her aunts and all of their eccentricities. I also adore Everly’s pets, especially the seagull. This story it well written, well plotted and the mystery is a good one, with quite a few twists. I enjoyed watching Everly’s relationship develop, but I do think that is going a bit too slowly for the series. I’d like to see that pick up the pace in the next book! As always I loved the food descriptions and yummy recipes! Already looking forward to the next book.

This was my first Bree Baker novel and it won't be my last. I requested it since I'm a sucker for small town Christmas cozies and this delivered. I loved all the festive descriptions, the delicious food mentioned, and the charming cast of characters. The mystery was fairly solid and had me guessing until the end. Also a super cute romance is always a good thing. I hadn't read the previous two books in this series and found that that didn't inhibit my enjoyment. A new series I'll be looking for and in the meantime I'll be reading the backlist titles.

Tide and Punishment by Bree Baker is a wonderful “Christmasy” Cosy Mystery. The setting is this lovely island, Charm, North Carolina, that is usually warm and inviting. Instead this year - there is snow and ice, but the islanders are making the most of the season! Everly Swan owns and runs an ice tea shop and makes all sorts of lovely treats. Her aunts have their own shop nearby and are her only family.

On the night of an Open House just before Christmas, Everly’s Aunt Fran announces that she is running for mayor. It seems to be a highly contested office and starts a series of events that include the mayor being murdered and Aunt Fran is the most likely killer by smashing him with a Christmas gnome. Grady, Everly’s love interest and the local detective is on the case and is not willing to let her help him find the murderer. Meanwhile, Christmas is getting closer and she has some serious baking to do before the holiday!

I really enjoyed the novel. It was a fun read and the characters were certainly anyone from a small town worldwide. I especially loved the progressive dinner idea with the whole town! Tide and Punishment is the third book in the Seaside Cafe Mysteries and I was able to read it as a standalone. (Although, I am not planning on missing any new ones!) Tide and Punishment was a great cosy read!

Charm, North Carolina and Christmas time was a perfect combination. This is the second book in this series that I have read and I continue to really like the main character Everly Swan. Her aunts are a real hoot and I also enjoyed their characters as well. The storyline moves quickly, it is well written and it drew me in from the beginning. I was surprised by the ending. I look forward to reading more books in this series.

Third outing for Everly Swan and her cafe in Charm, NC. Full of southern charm, interesting characters and a darn good story. Christmas is coming and Everly is overwhelmed with cookie orders and Aunt Fran's announcement of her intention to .run for mayor. And then, the current mayor ends up dead with Aunt Fran at the top of the suspect list. Lots of fun and a touch of Yuletide heart to cap the story.

This is the third book in the Seaside Cafe Mystery series! by Bree Baker.

I am in love with this series!

I am very excited about this book if you can’t tell by the first sentence of this review. As I was reading it I felt like the cast and author was giving me a big warm hug and that thought just made me smile. There aren’t a lot of series that I really connect with and this is one of them! Yay for me! Something new to follow.

I can’t believe we are already getting books about Christmas and winter weather! I am still waiting for fall to truly arrive on my doorstep!

I am enjoying the two different love interests for Everly Swan. One is the do-gooder Cop who we don’t know for sure is really interested in Everly and then there is the ex-boyfriend, the cowboy and rebel who seems to know he made a mistake and wants his girl back.

The cast is wonderful, even those I don’t particularly like. You need that dynamic in a story to keep it fresh and interesting. When Everly’s Great Aunt Fran gets accused of the murder of her mayoral rival, you know from the get go that she is being set up. Why do the innocent people always pick up the murder weapon and put their fingerprints on the villainous device? Your heart sinks every time. At least it does for me.

As you make your way though the book you just get this heartwarming feeling that makes your heart sing. And by the end you feel like you want to cry since these people are so nice. I am in awe of this series and plan to read every previous book right away! So excited to discover a new favorite series to follow!

Definitely check out this fun cozy mystery series. Highly recommended.

I received this as an ARC (Advanced Reader Copy) in return for an honest review. I thank NetGalley, the publisher and the author for allowing me to read this title.
