Thank you netgalley for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This was a lot racier than I expected which was a disappointed since I was really expecting a sensual romance. But the heroes were sexually charged from the beginning making their interactions a bit abrupt and awkward. Did not enjoy it as I would have liked.

I had a hard time warming up to Finton He was so cold. Mary was just the opposite. She is warm and caring. Set in Halifax, I was hoping for a bit of information about that part of ghe world. I enjoyed their story though. Well written and developed. Some interesting secondary characters too!

This was a complimentary copy from netgalley - many thanks

I love a historical romance and this was fabulous

I haven't read anything by the author before but will certainly be on the lookout - well written, easy to read and a bit steam in places !! What's not to love !!

Set in Nova Scotia - this is not your usual romance novel which made it really interesting for me

Loved that this was a different premise - great read - good for holiday read - loved it

Love and Redemption by Luanna Stewart is romance novel set in the nineteenth century Nova Scotia. Finton Morash also known as the Golden judge is having his portrait painted when the artist becomes ill and unable to finish in time for the unveiling. A possible replacement is recommended and the judge makes contact but when the artist arrives he discovers his artist is a woman. Mrs. Taylor assures him she can finish the painting in time and invites him to view her work on display and for sale at her tea shop. He agrees and purchases one of her landscapes. They become friends and more very quickly. Both are hiding a secret from their past; what will happen when the secrets become public knowledge?
This book was okay. I think the judge should have used better judgement in his actions. This just made his character appear weak and not too intelligent in my opinion. Mrs. Taylor also used very poor judgement on many occasions. This story had a good premise and could have been written much better if the characters acted like adults instead of lustful teenagers. I give this book 2 of 5 stars.

Excellent story. Great to read something which is not the usual 20 something virginal heroine. I haven't read anything by Luanna before but I will definely check her other stories out. Finton is an interesting hero and I'm glad they got their HEA...it was touch and go!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Historical romance set in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The heroine is a former prostitute who has left England to make a new life for herself an ocean away from her former clientele. She falls in love, but her past is not completely left behind, and it remains to be seen whether or not she can acknowledge her past, and still make a new and respectable life.

Plenty of explicit sex if that’s to your reading pleasure!

This is my fair and honest review for this ARC. Decidedly different tale set in Halifax. How can a courtesan turned tea house owner/artist learn to accept, and put away, her past and allow herself to claim the love of a judge. Really lovely story that you should read.
