Honestly one of my favorite graphic novels ever!! Cute witches, an even cuter and soft romance and the colors! Best read in the fall, this will get you in the perfect autumn feels
Cute and amazing story about a witch and her werewolve girl-friend
it has a amazing plot and just the cutest art style!
This was a cute book and I really liked the drawing style. I didn't love it but I think it's one of those books that are nice to spend your time with and read while you're drinking tea in bed.
Perfect for Halloween time or autumn/fall. This graphic novel features witches and a werewolf and is all around just so cute, it also has queer characters which is perfect! The art style I love and it's something that you can reread again when it comes to that spooky time of the year.
A lovely, magical fall romance between a witch and a warewolf - I cannot wait to reread the finished copy during Pumpkin Spice season. My only complaint is that the story seems to start right in the middle - like I'd started on book 2 of a series without having read book 1. It gets less confusing if you stick with it, but Still, I love the illustrations with their rich, autumn colors and the sweet LGBTQ romance between Nova and Tam. It melted my cold, dead millennial heart. This will definitely become a go-to Halloween read for me
It is a lovely story with diverse caracters and it leaves you wanting more, wanting to know more about all the characters and follow them in more adventures!
After bumping into her childhood crush, Nova goes on a mission to figure out who is behind unexpectant things happening. It has witchcraft, wolves, and cuteness all over. I appreciated the art style overall. The story left me wanting more, but I did find it interesting overall. I appreciated the queer representation and having a non-binary MC.
A good surface level LGBTQ witchy read, but could have benefited from a little more depth.
Super cute characters, the storyline of a childrens fantasy episode, and representation for non-binary and deaf people.
I recommend as a light read for young teens.
Very cute and nostalgic in a way, would love to read more from the series but it isn't my top priority as it did not blow me away. Good representation in this first volume.
Wasn't the biggest fan of the art style, it's cute but it wasn't working for me. Haven't read enough to say if the story is any good.

I read this graphic novel for the 2019 reading rush and I had such a good time while flipping through the illustrations. The art is amazing, I love the colors’ combination and the style itself. You cannot NOT enjoy this graphic novel because it is such a pure, cute and diverse story. LGBTQIA+ representation on point (a non-binary main character and 2 lesbian grandmas is an example) and such important messages spread throughout the entirety of the novel.
I received this book for NetGalley. I wasn’t really sure what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised. I have been looking for some possible graphic novels for some of my students to get them interested in reading. This one caught my eye. I love the name! Witches, werewolves and romance what a great combination. I think my girls will love this book. The illustrations and characters are wonderful. I look forward to more.
This was a cute story.
The illustrations were very good and the plot of the story was immersive and lovely.
There is a lot happening in the story, with a love blooming and demon awakening, this story has it all and it was a really fun read.
I adored the development of the relationship and the way the the final magical battle unfolded was good.
I also liked the characters in the story, they felt realistic and were all adorab;e.
They is also a lot of representation in this book, I cannot speak for the rep but I did like seeing it.
Our main character has a hearing disability, she has two grandmothers and Tam, the werewolves is I am assuming to be non-binary and prefers the pronouns they/them
There is also a seen in the book where Tam corrects one of the grandmothers on which pronoun to use and it was done very well.
Overall this was a cute story, had great diversity and I had a great time reading it.
A magical entry into graphic novels, heartfelt and engaging story and art. The plot is sweetly framed by both baking and magic.
Unfortunately this didn't work on any of my devices - it was just a page of code! But thank you very much for accepting me to read it. I will definitely be trying to get a copy when I can because it looks great.
What a cute graphic novel! I loved the family aspect and the relationship between our 2 main characters. I found it quirky and fun and the illustrations are just stunning!
Thankyou so much to Netgalley for providing me with an arc (a long time ago)
Mooncakes is a cute and fun take on witches and magic! I adored the relationship between Tam and Nova!
I really enjoyed this read and the characters, they were wholesome and sweet. This made the perfect Autumn read and I have already recommended it to friends looking for light-weight and easy reads for the best time of year!
I wouldn't consider myself to be a huge reader of graphic novels, but Mooncakes is by far one of the best I've ever read. The world was so magical and intriguing. The plot was fast-paced and easy to follow. And the illustrations are so lovely. I loved the childhood friends to lovers sapphic romance. In fact, there was so much representation packed into such a short story! I would totally recommend this for any contemporary fantasy fan. Or anyone looking for a soft graphic novel in the vein of The Tea Dragon Society.
Adorable, I love the artwork in this graphic novel. I would've liked a bit more as far as plot is concerned, but that was really my only complaint. I highly recommend this cute and easy to read graphic novel!!!
