Nora is that woman that appears perfect on the outside. She lives in a gorgeous house with a husband who’s attractive in that aging frat boy kind of way and she’s a food blogger. I mean, how fun is that? She’s practically The Pioneer Woman living the dream.
Gwen also appears perfect on the outside. She’s a dedicated mom who has chosen to forgoe a career to support her husband Josh who is a gorgeous doctor. She also has a perfect house and perfect hair.
Neither are perfect. But one is a good person and the other is the worst type of person imaginable. Can you guess which is which? And of course both are equally realistic and findable in surburban affluent America. They are two women living parallel lives, but are on a course for collision with each other. Because one is sleeping with the other’s husband.
Life gets messy, that’s a fact. And Margot Hunt captures that messiness perfectly in The Last Affair. Because sometimes, people fall out of love. Sometimes they fall in love with other people. And sometimes, once the dominoes start to fall, it all ends up in one great big mess.
I’d recommend The Last Affair to fans of domestic thrillers – think Jessica Strawser or Lisa Jewel or even Big Little Lies. This one had that feel to it. Everyone is just living their lives one day, with minor discretions and mistakes until BAM, they reach a tipping point.
Special thanks to Netgalley and Mira for an advanced e-galley in exchange for my honest review. The Last Affair is out November 26, 2019. A great gift for the thriller reader on your list!

The perfect whodunnit, suspense filled mystery!
I have to be completely honest, I have been reading some truly Amazingly Wonderful books lately. This one was no different, this one brought me back to several years ago, when I'd read on my iPad/kindle at night and just devour books, almost like you devour a Reese's Egg at Easter! The fun, the excitement of not wanting to put the book down, all of that has been emerging and I'm so thrilled!!
I don't feel like I've had that fire and thrill in a little while and it feels great! Books like these are the reason I fell in love with reading, well except for back then, it was Ramona Quimby haha!
The characters, the plot, the climax and the twisty ending, seriously, I know I've said it before but, that was brilliant!!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This thrilling read comes out on November 26, so be waiting for it so you can share your thoughts!! Also, I will be doing a book tour on December 3 so be on the lookout for that as well!
A huge thanks to Harlequin, NetGalley and Mira books for this advanced readers copy!!

Nora Holliday knows what she is doing is wrong on so many levels, but the connection she has with Josh isn't something she can ignore. He is everything her husband isn't, he showers her with attention and makes her feel loved, and she hasn't had that in a long time. They know they shouldn't let what happened at the conference follow them home, but they just can't seem to help themselves... and it's about to cost them everything!

They are not the only two mixed up in their little affair, Josh has a daughter that knows a little too much and a spouse that is about to draw attention to their little affair... but not in the way you think!

The Last Affair is a thrilling little domestic suspense novel that will keep you on your toes from beginning to end! Nothing says enthralling like a little family drama, secrets, forbidden romance, and murder. I loved what I discovered between the pages of this novel, the story line is plausible and inventive, and the characters are superbly crafted, their antics kept me flying through the pages. This was quite the memorable first time read, the words were addictive and the drama was high, I had no problem keeping my eyes glued to the pages of this one!! Highly recommend!

I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, via NetGalley request, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.

Thank you to NetGalley, Margot Hunt and Harlequin for allowing me to review this title and be part of the blog tour!

Nora isn’t the type of woman who has an affair with a married man, but Josh is everything that her alcoholic husband isn’t and now Nora and Josh are infatuated and can’t keep away from one another. Josh’s daughter Abby is home from college trying to heal her broken heart when she sees her father with another woman, and she vows to get revenge. As for Gwen, Josh’s wife, from the outside looking in, the mother of two seems to living a charmed life – until she ends up dead!

I flew through this suspenseful novel! I couldn’t put it down because there was so much going on that I needed to see resolved and keeps you suspicious of all the characters, wondering who could have the motive to kill Gwen. I really enjoyed most of the characters in this novel, but it had one that I just loved to hate and I definitely rooted for her to get what she had coming to her. I loved how this novel get into how different people can be from what they show to the outside world. There are so many twists and shocking moments in this novel that you can’t help but be captivated! I would definitely recommend this one!

Out November 26th!

Holy crap!

This book grabbed me from page one, where a grisly murder takes place, and did not let up for one single second until the very end when you find which of several characters in this crazy, juicy thriller did the deed.

I zoomed through this one like it was my job and hated it when I had to set it down.

Thank you to Margot Hunt, HARLEQUIN - MIRA (U.S. and Canada), and NetGalley for giving me a widget for this book.

This psychological thriller is told in multiple POV’s, which I enjoyed, as it gave me a well-rounded picture of what was going on.

I read a lot of books in this genre, including one other book by Hunt. It grabbed my attention on the first page, and it took me on a bit of a roller coaster ride with a few twists along the way. I enjoyed this story, but it was a bit average, compared to others I’ve read (including the author’s prior book, For Better and Worse). At times, some of the characters’ actions seemed a bit over the top and without a lot of reason for it. Some plot points weren’t particularly original, but this was still an enjoyable book, and I look forward to reading more from Hunt in the future.

Disclaimer: I received a complimentary copy from the publisher, but I wasn’t required to leave a positive review.

The book opens with a dead woman in her back yard face down and bloody.

Who could the attacker have been?

It could have been a number of people...the flirty neighbor, the wife having an affair with Gwen's husband, the husband, or even the daughter. Who is the most likely one?

And....this isn't the only crisis in this book...it is only the beginning.

We have two families, two unhappy marriages, unhappy children, unhappy adults, an affair between one of the husbands and one of the wives, and a lot of drama with both the children and the adults.

The characters all seemed to be distant with each other and focused on themselves with little regard for the other family members.

I originally thought THE LAST AFFAIR would be about solving the murder even though the title should have been a clue, but the book is more focused on families.

Most of the book was about family relationships more than the murder, but once the affair was revealed to the non-participating spouses and the murder scene described, the book’s tension ramped up and concluded with a chilling ending.

This is my first book my Ms. Hunt. Her writing draws you in and creates situations that have you wanting to continue to see how everything turns out.

I did enjoy this book and would recommend it to mystery readers who need a change of pace for a lighter take on a mystery.

The ending definitely turned the entire book around for me.

I hope you enjoy THE LAST AFFAIR if you read it. 4/5

This book was given to me by the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

You know the type of book that holds your attention, yet brings nothing new to the table from the previous 97 domestic suspense novels you've read before it? Yea, that was this one. Don't get me wrong, it has soapy drama and a love triangle and enough unlikable characters to put a Real Housewives round table to shame, but I feel like I've read this exact book so many times that it may be time to put the genre behind me. If you enjoy middle of the road characters and are looking for an easy, entertaining read to pass the time, give this one a try.

The Last Affair by Margot Hunt was a book that hooked me right away. I enjoy the author’s writing and knew I would like this book since her other novels were so good. If you haven’t read Best Friends Forever or For Better and Worse, get them right away.

The Last Affair offers up a love triangle, a murder, and the ending leaves the potential for a sequel.

Nora Holliday is not that kind of woman. Not the kind who has an illicit affair with a married man. But Josh Landon is everything Nora’s alcoholic husband isn’t. And now she and Josh are so infatuated, they can’t stay away from one another.

Abby Landon, Josh’s daughter, is home from college nursing a broken heart. She’s seeking solace, not more scandal, so when she catches her dad kissing Nora, she vows to take the homewrecker down.

And as for Abby’s mother and Josh’s wife, Gwen? To anyone on the outside looking in, the mother of two appears to be living the ideal suburban life.

Until she winds up dead.

The serene seaside town of Shoreham has always been the perfect place to raise a family—not somewhere housewives are brutally murdered. So who killed Gwen Landon, and how many twisted secrets will be exposed as the vindictive plot comes undone?

If you like domestic thrillers then I think you will like this one. It’s due out on November 26 and you can pre-order it here.

The Last Affair is an excellent, page turning read that kept me glued to the pages from beginning to end. I love domestic thrillers and dramas and this one had it all! Highly recommended!

This book revolves around two families who have become intertwined due to a love affair.

The Landon's and the Holliday's both have their own problems. Abby Landon leaves college, probably never to return, in the midst of her junior year. This, over a break-up with her boyfriend. (To me that is beyond being ridiculous and immature). Of course, later on she pulls another stunt - this time even worse. Gwen Landon is so self-serving that the reader loves to hate her. Yet, Gwen's husband, Josh, is calm and mild-mannered.

Colin Holliday has a history of alcoholism and addictive gambling. His wife, Nora, who has a thriving food blog attends a conference in Tampa.

She has dinner with Josh after a coincidental meeting of two different conferences at the same hotel. They know each other because he is the orthodontist who worked on Nora's kid's teeth.

They have a hot affair that continues to spill out into their return from the conference.

It's what occurs after this affair gets started that rattles the cages. A roller coaster ride of unexpected events occur that may explode at any time! I highly recommend!!!

Many Thanks to Harlequin - MIRA and NetGalley for a sound story.

I loved this unputdownable book!
It was a thrilling, unnerving read. The characters were realistic. The plot was gripping and fast-paced. Run, do not walk, out to get this fab book.

At least 5 stars! Hunt does it every time! She’s figured out the best strategy for psychological/domestic thrillers and she nails it every time she writes one in that genre! Her name makes it where I automatically need to read! Thrilling, chilling, suspense filled, shocking! A must read for my fellow thriller lovers!
Will make sure to race it up!

I was really excited to see Margot Hunt had a new book, because I really enjoyed "For Better and Worse". I enjoyed this book quite a bit, even though I really didn't like any of the characters. I actually think I liked Gwen the most, which makes me wonder what that says about me? I mean I could definitely see how "over-the-top" cold she is, but Nora seemed a bit self-righteous to me (although she did discuss her part in things). I guess she and Josh both kind of bugged me, like they both expressed how unhappy they were in their marriages but I thought their reasons were just kind of weak. Don't get me wrong, I understand how Carter's problems would wear on her, but it just seemed like "I'll stand by you and we'll get through this, oh wait, I actually hate you". I liked Matt, though, because I've been in a similar position (don't want to spoil anything here).

Overall, I thought this was a great book and I truly couldn't put it down- I wanted to see how things would play out with everyone involved! This book reads like juicy gossip, and you can't wait to see the fallout from what happens!

I'm not sure how I have gone this long and not read a book by Margot Hunt. This book was amazing and I could not put it down. Twists and turns right up until the end of the book. I look forward to going back and reading her previous books. Thank you for the advance copy.

A dark mystery that starts with a murder and ends with a great twist. I spent the whole novel trying to determine who killed Gwen, as EVERYONE had a compelling reason (and I still wasn’t right).
