OMG! Funny, ballsy and adorably addictive. I was sold on the blurb and wow does it live up to the hype! I love a tale of comeuppance!

‘You Deserve Each Other’ is now on my top 10 list of best books I’ve read this year. I had a hard time doing anything else once I started it for a variety of reasons.
Naomi and Nicholas are getting married. Sounds simple, right? Only somewhere along the way, things went sideways, WAY sideways. Instead of planning a wedding, Naomi is planning how to torture Nicholas. How to get him to give up first. How to end this charade so they can move on with their lives.
Nicholas is the perfect son. From a wealthy family, he is now a dentist who jumps every time his overbearing mom snaps her fingers. He shovels their snow, goes to dinner every Sunday, allows his mom to insult Naomi (without intervening) and now, she has taken control of their wedding. It’s no longer “their’ wedding. It’s her wedding, her guests, her decisions. They will be lucky to be invited.
Sarah Hogle has done an excellent job of making this book funny when times are so rocky you just want them to be done, while at the same time poignant so you are cheering for them to stay together.
I highly, highly recommend “You Deserve Each Other” if you want all of the feelings. Not just happy, not just sad. All of them. You won’t be disappointed.

This was a cute, funny, enjoyable read!
When I first started reading this, I didn't particularly like either of the main characters. But they quickly grew on me. And once they started their "war", I started giggling out loud while reading it. By the end of the book I wanted to be friends with both of them.
I want to thank the publisher and net galley for the ARC, which did not impact my review.

As soon as I read the synopsis for this on Goodreads, I was game to read what I believed would become my next favorite romance. I was sure this would be a 5-star read, this book hooked me in, and I started off loving it. I loved how this was a unique take on the enemies to lovers trope, given that it existed in an already engaged couple. I found it easy to sympathize with both Naomi and Nicholas as they both had valid points as to why they felt their relationship was falling apart. I was genuinely interested to see how these two would find their way back to each other. But maybe I just had too high of expectations for this book because a few chapters in I found myself being slightly disappointed. The main character Naomi tended to act childish. I hated how Naomi and Nicholas couldn’t just communicate with each other, and I wish we would have gotten Nicholas’s perspective as well. This book wasn’t terrible by any means; it was just a constant cycle of me enjoying a few chapters and then finding the next few a bit tedious. However, this was overall entertaining, and I was interested to see how this story played out.

I read the first chapter & a half of this book and then put it to the side for almost a month. I tried again to get back into it, and I almost threw in the towel for good. When the book starts off, Naomi is terribly unlikeable, and her fiance Nicholas (seen through her eyes) is equally so. They truly do seem to "deserve each other" due to their equally sour attitudes, but they certainly weren't characters I saw myself getting invested in.
Once Naomi and Nicholas truly started interacting, though, I could not put the book down! Even at the beginning when they were doing nothing but arguing and being hateful, immature brats to one another, something about Sarah Hogle's writing kept me invested to see them through to their inevitable HAE. And once they began reconnecting and being honest with one another, I was absolutely hooked. I ended up finishing the book in one afternoon because I just could not put it down! I like that both characters see growth; there's a part where Nicholas asks Naomi to take responsibility for her half of what went wrong, and I think that's a truly pivotal point in the narrative and in the journey to make the reader finally fully come over to "their" side. As the book progresses, both Nicholas and Naomi see their own flaws and work to become a balanced team again. By the end of the book, I was actually sad that my journey with these two had come to an end!

Wow okay you don’t have to do that to my heart but ok
** Thank you Netgalley for sending me this arc in exchange for an honest review **
This book is not your typical romance. It's not even your typical enemies to lovers romance. This is a lovers to enemies to friends to lovers romance. And after reading this, I don't know why there aren't more like it.
The first half of this book, it was hard to imagine how this couple once loved each other, why they loved each other, and how it was possible to fix it. I didn't know if I wanted them to fix it because neither of them seemed to enjoy the relationship anymore.
So, naturally, two grown adults started playing pranks on each other. Some downright hilarious that had tears in my eyes and some so mean I couldn't imagine pulling that on my boyfriend. And somehow, that made me love their relationship even more.
This book was just super fun to read because I wanted to know what the next prank was. Who it was targeted at. I quickly became obsessed with this book because I loved watching them fall in love all over again.
I read Landline several years ago and I think that's the closest comparison I can make to this book. There needs to be more books with this subgenre (can you consider this a subgenre? I don't care, I am!) and hopefully 2020 is the year of lovers to enemies to lovers again!

Naomi is done. Done with her relationship with Nicholas, her fiance. She is sick of his moms overbearing attitude, the constant house calls Nicholas has to do because his mom "needs" something. She can't leave him though.
Her job is almost done because she knows it is going to close soon. She can't leave Nicholas because then she would have to foot the bill for their wedding.
Nicholas knows something is wrong. He is doing what he can to make his mom happy and his fiance, but when she does a complete one-eighty and starts standing up to his mom Nicholas takes notice. He does what he can to save their relationship, but will Namoi fall back in love with him, or will they go their separate ways.

This book is simply effervescent! I laughed, I felt for the characters, and by the end had the happy satisfaction of having been along for a fun ride. Rather than starting with how the characters met, the book starts when they are already engaged, and that little twist makes this book charmingly original, despite the genre. The characters are well-developed, and the side characters hold interest as well, the mark of an author who can write a believable story. Lovable people have real friends and real relationships outside of their coupledom. In this book, the supporting characters are more than merely sidekicks who keep the story moving. I will be recommending it to all of my friends.

Omg I loved this book!!! I literally had tears in my eyes and my sides were killing me from laughing so hard through out this book!!! You Deserve Each Other was a surprise hit for me. I mean that in the most positive way. I knew this book was be good but hot damn this book was amazing! This book is the reason why I love reading! Amazing!

It's been a long time since a book has made me laugh out loud as often as this one did! I cannot tell you how much I LOVED this story! Ms. Hogle has an incredible talent for taking what I think is a lot of our inner dialogue and translating it to the page. Her main character Naomi is brutally honest in her own head, but when she's around people - especially her fiance - she hides her true self. She's full of wonderful anecdotes such as "He calls it his office or his study and in my head I still call it the drawing room, because in a past life I was a duchess and I've never quite gotten over being reborn as a commoner in this age." I think this wit is one of the things Nicholas loves about her and one of the things I loved in this book.
While there were plenty of moments that had me laughing to myself and highlighting parts of this story to revisit later and laugh again. It was also full of beautifully deep and vulnerable moments such as "No. Changeling Naomi is the same person as First Date Naomi, just with all the shiny new penny rubbed off. We got too used to the best version of each other, so neither of us ever got to relax and show our normal selves. We've been hiding."
Overall, this book was a beautiful journey of Naomi and Nicholas' relationships. It was messy. It was real. And it was absolutely gorgeous!
Thank you NetGalley and Penguin Group's G.P. Putnam's Sons for the eARC!

I laughed so hard and cried tears of joy! I received this as an ARC from netgalley in exchange for an honest review and it was honestly a great experience from page one till the end. I could not put the book down for barely more than 5 minutes. The protagonist was hilarious with her antics to try to drive her fiancee away and then the reveal that he's trying to do the same to her. With the added bonus of seeing these characters slowly fall in love with each other all over again. It was a great read and I would highly recommend it!

Sylvain Reynard captured my attention back in 2012 when I didn't even own a Kindle. I had borrowed my sister's Nook for a week while on vacation. I was intrigued by the first few chapters. The alpha male that I have measured up all other to over the years has been Gabriel.
Having the opportunity to read an ARC (a paper ARC) is beyond special to me. This will forever be a coveted ARC of mine.
Gabriel's Promise is exactly that. Everything he's ever promised to Julia is coming true. Their happily ever after. This book is their journey into parenthood and it's the swooniest and sweetest you will ever see Professor Emerson and it's absolute perfection.
There are definitely some bumps and twists and persons who don't want to allow Gabriel and Julia have that HEA...but as we know, Gabriel will not allow anyone to stand in his way of making Julia's life all he wants it to be.
Once again Sylvain Reynard has taken romance to the next level. Beautiful writing, written words that bring you into the story and another unique and thrilling story from Sylvain Reynard.

This didn’t work for me. Both characters were engaged but terrible to each other in the beginning. I wasn’t able to forget how they treated each other throughout the book and couldn’t get behind their relationship.

There is... a lot of relatable stuff here. There were moments where I cringed and where I teared up, remembering mistakes and family dysfunction and relationship misfires and throwaway statements taken the wrong way. I related to Nicholas just as often as Naomi, if not more. Anyway. It's ultimately a hopeful book, in which the characters need to grow as individuals before they can grow together. Some of the juvenile stuff they do before that does get a bit old, but all in all, it's a fun, quick read, and not nearly as problematic as many of the romance novels I've read lately.
Thanks to the publishers and NetGalley for a digital ARC!

EEEEEEP, this is a DNF for me. I did not connect with the characters. I did not connect with the story. I tried three times to pick it up and nope, just not for me :-(

This book gave me serious Hating Game vibes and I am so here for it! Hate to Love is my favorite trope!!!

You Deserve Each Other is one of my favorite romance reads of the year!
I absolutely loved this book! Naomi and Nicholas are engaged but they don’t share much any more - particularly how they feel about one another. Naomi is ready to call off the wedding since she only tolerates Nicholas most days but she doesn’t want to give him the satisfaction of being the injured party in the break up. The solution - make Nicholas break off the engagement by any means necessary.
This book was so relatable. It illustrates how difficult relationships can be and the effort that needs to go into them to make them work. Not only was the storyline easy to connect with but it was so hilarious that I found myself laughing out loud constantly. Naomi is snarky, deviously creative and at times completely and utterly selfish but you’ll still love her faults and all. I literally couldn’t put it down and finished reading it within a day. I’d highly recommend this to fans of enemy to lovers and second chance romance tropes.

Thank you for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
You Deserve Each Other is a Love to Hate to Love again book. Naomi and Nicholas has a quick courtship and found themselves engaged to be married in very little time. Nicholas has a mother that is the WORST possible version of what a mother in law could be. This book takes them through their engagement- lots of will they/ won’t they.
Naomi annoyed the shit out of me though if I’m being real.
Anyways. It was cool.

There is such a fine line to consider when writing an enemies to lovers story. Too far on one side and there isn't really tension. Too far on the other side and the characters are so mean that you can't root for them. Two characters who are already engaged, as in this book, raised the stakes and made the line even finer for me. Man do Naomi and Nicholas know the buttons to push for maximum impact with each other. Hogle could be a tight rope walker with how well she traversed that line. Right at the moment where if they had gone any farther I would have hated both Naomi and Nicholas beyond repair, she shows a glimpse of the tenderness that has been trampled under hurt feelings and dashed expectations. It was just enough of a tease to get my heart racing and make me settle deeper into my chair to see what the next few pages held. I loved watching them find each other again and in doing. So the best versions of themselves. There was a lot of humor in this book to temper the sadness. Some of their antics are laugh out loud funny but what I remember more is the way my heart hurt for Naomi with all of her self-doubt. It is a rare book that creates such a range of emotions seamlessly. This book is definitely one for the keeper shelves and Hogle is an author I'll be paying attention to going forward.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I'm so glad I gave this book a chance. It was funny and smart, with witty banter that kept me turning the pages. It dragged a little in the beginning but I was glad that I stuck with it. I think we will all see some of ourselves on the pages of this fantastic debut. You deserve Each Other deserves your attention.
