This is book #2, in the Bad Angels series. This book can be read as a standalone novel. For read understanding and to avoid spoilers, I recommend reading this series in order.

Zoe loves her job. She has come a long way but her life is now in a good place. Until she crashes in front of Connor. Somehow him taking care of her puts everything in a new light.

Connor has always wanted Zoe. She has no idea how he wants her. When he has the chance to be with her, he has no problem taking it. It's the after he is afraid of.

I loved how these characters were together. The sexy heat of them was just hot. The pace of the book was good. I enjoyed seeing them together and hoped for more. This is an author who delivers. The humor helped it to be fun. I found myself eagerly turning the pages. Overall it is a really good read.

This is the first time in reading this author with the storyline picking my interest. I do not know why except I wanted to see what was really going to happen.
Zoe is the one that will be having a trial or two. Conner will be the one whom is tested with when they come together you already see the chemistry start to happen. Their personalities give it the strength it needs but they are also fun to read. It is always delightful to watch and at times take wagers on whom caves first.
If wanting a entertaining romance that can give you the feel goods than this is the stop. The author does a good job of giving us what we want out of a romance.

Very enjoyable!!!

Temptation by Inara Scott is the second book in her Bad Angels series. In this book, Zoe is a patent lawyer who also has an engineering degree. She is a smart, strong young woman, trying to make her place in a world dominated by men. Zoe is not the most co-ordinated person, nor is she known to be athletic. However, she is determined to get on the good side of one of her clients by trying out a scooter they make. As she’s soaring (albeit slowly for most others), she sees a jogger and she becomes distracted looking at his butt. She suddenly realizes it’s a friend, Conner! And then scooter meets light-post! Conner determines she may have injured her wrist as well as may have a concussion, he takes her to the ER, and then offers to have her stay with him so he can ensure she does Nothing for at least 24 hours! It was quite funny to read how Zoe (a typical Type A woman), reacted to the news that she wasn’t to look at any electronics, books, TV, etc, but stay in a dark room with nothing to ensure her brain was not injured. This is the beginning of the non-relationship between these 2 characters.

I really enjoyed learning what made both Zoe and Conner the way the were. And I loved the GPG’s (a group of intelligent retired women) who pull Zoe into their fold. The strong relationships with friends and between Conner and Zoe left us screaming at the 2 that they were meant for each other and for friends to encourage their relationship.

This is a fun romance with strong characters, interesting use of facts about whiskey, electric motorbikes, cold fusion, patents and basketball. I can’t wait for Nate’s story!

I received an ARC copy of this book courtesy of NetGalley and Entangled Publishing and am voluntarily reviewing it. All opinions expressed in this review are my own and given freely.

I have never read a story by this author before but this will not be my last. A little quirky and a lot of fun moments thrown in. This book draws the reader in quickly and does not let go until the end.

Temptation is my first book by Inara Scott and even though it is in my least favorite POV, I enjoyed it. It’s a light easy read story about two people who should not be together, while they both know what’s at stake, can’t hide their attraction to each other.

The story begins with Zoe having a accident that results in a concussion which, our hero, Connor tends to. Their attraction grows during this time but they can’t possibly be together because they are colleagues. The end stakes would be high for them both. But if they agreed on no-strings-attached relationship then all should be copacetic. Right?

You know where this is heading.

I liked the story-line but I found myself getting a little bored in spots as it is a slow paced and lagged a bit in certain areas, it could have been a bit shorter. With that said there are plenty of things to like about it. The secondary characters are great. Oh the GPG or better known as Geriatric Physicists Grannies. They are a real hoot! It is written really well, so it’s easy to read and be entertained throughout.

I would happily recommend it to others, and if you’re a fan of a sweet, easy going contemporary rom-com, then Temptation is for you.

This is the first book by this author that I have read and it was a good story. It is part of a series but can be read as a standalone. It is a friends to lovers’ story with a hint of a forbidden romance. Zoe is an attorney that is working with her friend Connor’s company. Since he is her client, they can’t act on any feelings that they may have for each other. However all it takes is one time and everything changes. They decide to have a secret fling but will they be able to keep it secret and keep it short or will they lose everything? Can Zoe and Connor make it work and get their HEA? You will have to read it to find out.

Zoe was trying to ride the electric scooter. She wasn’t the most coordinated person in the world. And yes she has always been the last person picked in gym class. But the company founder had wanted her to try the product. Zoe thought what she wouldn’t do for customer satisfaction. Though she was a partner in a thriving law practice- her partners were Luke and Rafe- , she had a few clients of her own and had to handle the work the other lawyers brought in. She was trying to change that situation but until she did, she had to keep the few clients she did have happy. Zoe didn’t have much time for fun. Someone was yelling at her and it turned out to be Connor who was one of the three owners of her firms biggest client. Livend Capital was a venture capital firm. It had been started a few years ago by three hotshot investors that had been dubbed the Bad Angel-. Connor and his former roommates Mason and Nate. The firm had grown at an astronomical rates making them respected players in high-tech finances. Connor was the quiet brainy one. The last to arrive, first to leave. The guy who never called when an email or text would do. Connor was off limits. First and foremost, he was part of a small circle of friends she didn’t want to bring hookup drama into the circle. Since her previous relationships existed in a spectrum from bad to awful. Secondary, professional rules forbid lawyers from having sexual relationships with their clients. She wasn’t paying attention and she ran into the lamppost. Connor wasn’t sure what hit first - her forehead or her nose. Then the bleeding started. Connor had non- friendly feelings for Zoe. and he better forget them. Just like he forced himself to stay away every time he saw her. But the attraction he felt was there. He felt Zoe was tiny but fierce, one of the toughest people he had ever met. Zoe had known Connor three years and now she found she was aware of him in a way she never had before. Connor came to the hospital and stayed with her. The doctor told Zoe she had a fractured wrist and to go to her doctor and get a cast on it in a couple days and she may have a slight concussion and had to take twenty four hours minimum off work. Stay off the computer, and phone, no email, no reading, no tv, nothing. They wanted her brain to recover quickly. Zoe’s usual side of things was the patent and engineering work. Zoe’s speciality was dealing with new start-ups, helping them identify and protect their intellectual property. The doctor wanted Zoe to be with someone for the first twenty four hours, Connor stepped up and said he would take her to his place. Connor really didn’t like that Zoe had no one to call on when she was hurt. Mason and Nate knew Connor liked Zoe and had bugged him for years to ask her out. But they also knew he refused to consider it. He was a horrible date. A worse boyfriend, He forgot dinners, missed anniversaries. Said the wrong thing. Forgot to say the right thing. Never found out what the right thing was in the first place. Skipped out on parties he never wanted to attend. Left events earlier when they involved small talk and socialization. He Managed to mishandle and somehow misunderstand every delicate situation he encountered, including relationships and the ending thereof. Connor’s mother was a retired scientist and was working on a dangerous project. Connor wanted oe to go and meet her, play bridge- which Zoe didn’t know hand try to find out what latricia- connor’s mother- was up to. Zoe wanted to get a new client who was a man and had no women in his executive circle. Connor was to teach her about sports, whiskey , and how to play basketball in Even though Zoe felt she was to be a spy on Latricia she agreed as she knew Connor was really worried about his mother. But she told Connor if she asked if Connor sent her to spy she would say yes. Zoe nor Connor had never experienced a passion like they had for each other before.
Greta book, incredible read. I loved Connor and Zoe together and how they interacted. I loved how close Connor was to his best friends/ business partners Nate and mason. My heart broke for what happened to Zoe when she broke her engagement to Daniel. I loved Connors mother Lucretia, and the GPG’s- Shirley, Clara, and Minnie. I loved that Lucretia knew Zoe was trying to spy on her for Connor but forgave her as did the other GPG’s I loved Connor was a near genius , yet cooked and knew nothing about a relationship. I loved seeing both him and Zoe grow in this book. I loved the pace and plot. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I highly recommend it.

Half friends and half co-workers but all steamy chemistry!

Connor has been attracted to Zoe almost since her law firm began representing him and his friends, the Bad Angel investors, but he’s got some issues when it comes to trust and commitment. Zoe has always recognized that all three of the Bad Angels are good looking men but all of a sudden Connor is shirtless and saving her and she sees him in a whole new way.

Trust issues, abandonment issues, basketball, whiskey, breaking into the boys club, and four geriatric physicists provide the backdrop for Zoe and Connor to discover not only their feelings for one another but some truths about themselves as well.

I absolutely love this series! The friendship bonds are as font and center as the romance and the sexy times are 🔥🔥🔥! I can’t wait for Nate and CeCe to finally get their turn and I wouldn’t mind Luke meeting his match either!

I received a complimentary review copy of this book but all opinions are my own.

This was a quick, fun read. A light romance with interesting characters and the requisite happy every after. It was well-written aside from a few editing errors and overall a good story.

Second book in this series, this is the story of Zoe and Connor.

They have worked together for years, and liked each other from afar. After a scooter accident Connor looks after Zoe, and as they spend more time with each other Zoe knows she is falling for him. He knows he is not good at relationships so do they have a chance?

Looking forward to more in this series

Temptation is the second book in the Bad Angels series and features Connor (a tech genius) and Zoe (a hard-hitting attorney). It was extremely easy to fall head over heels for this enchanting couple, as their chemistry was evident from the moment they met. Credible world building, believable characters and an engaging storyline all contributed to a wonderful book. There were no fur-babies in this story, but that didn’t detract from its appeal and I can happily recommend this as a stand-alone story if you haven’t read book one. I look forward to what comes next in the series.

This is the second book in this series and though this is a stand alone the characters from book one appear so you may want to read that one first

Zoe and Connor are work mates They are attracted to one another but they know that you can't mix business and pleasure so they keep it as friendship that is until Zoe has a scooter accident that leads to concussion and she has to spend the night with Connor so he can keep an eye on her. They decide that they will help one another he will help her with a client and she will help him with his mother and her cronies but all this time together is making it hard to forget that they can only be friends and we all know what is going to happen Will they implode their careers and their hearts or will they get a HEA You will have to read to see

I'm sorry, but I couldn't get into it. Whenever I began reading, I became bored and stopped shortly after. I just didn't find it interesting.

I have really liked the other books I have read by Inara Scott and was exited about this one, but I guess it isn't possible to satisfy everyone.

Temptation by Inara Scott is the second in her Bad Angels series, about the guys in a venture capital firm in San Francisco. Temptation is a friends-to-lovers story, about attorney Zoe Riva and tech genius Connor Ashton. These are two VERY smart people who well, get struck dumb--as we all do--by love.

Zoe and Connor haven't exactly been lucky in love before. Zoe's a woman in the working world, and she's well acquainted with all the ways she needs to out-think, out-do, out-BE in order to exist not to mention compete. She doesn't have time to date, and even when she wants to make time, the options are...limited. Clients are obviously out, and honestly, who has time outside the office anyway?

And Connor? He knows he's broken. He's bad at all the things that make a good boyfriend--he doesn't actually like socializing that much, and much as he tries, there are (too frequent) days that he gets caught up with a problem or project at work, and doesn't come up for food or air, much less friends or a lover. He knows he's a terrible bet, so he figures he'll focus on keeping things uncomplicated and save everyone the trouble.

Connor and Zoe don't count on being thrown together by a scooter accident. Or on what might happen when the blinders fall away and they each see the other not only as a smart and capable friend, but as someone entirely too appealing, someone they might want to kiss...and more.

Throw in some whiskey, motorcycles, and poker, fascinating family dynamics and some excellent friends, and Temptation is a winning read. Ms Scott does a terrific job with Zoe and Connor. We get to see their friendship build into something even more wonderful, and the possibility that blossoms when they are willing to give each other a chance. The fears and risks are all too real, but thankfully their friends and family ultimately are too, and we cheer all the way to Temptation's delicious resolution.

The Bad Angels series is very, VERY good!

3.75⭐
Temptation was an engaging, easy to read, light story. That had little in the way of angst and likable characters. Who although didn't overly excite me, did have a spark and their romance was sweet and pleasing to read. And with plenty of likable characters, including the GPGs I was easily entertained throughout.

However, I did find it quite slow paced and felt at times the story lagged a little and could of maybe benefited from being shorter. But saying that I did enjoy it and I would recommend it to others. Especially if you're a fan of easy going, sweet, contemporary romance.

I think I just fell in love. No, wait. I KNOW that I fell in love with this story!! I'm still kind of reeling from how much I enjoyed it! It's a keeper! It was quirky and yet so much deeper and different than I was even expecting it to be. Oh and I don't want to forget to mention that it was also funny at times. And that picture on the front of the eBook was kind of misleading but in a good way. Here I was thinking that from the picture Connor was going to be a bad boy biker and possibly a player. Don't get me wrong though, the picture is accurate but my assumptions weren't. This book just kept bringing me surprise after surprise.
The depth of the main characters was excellent. I liked sassy, spunk, smart, energetic Zoe. She fought the odds in business and she usually won! I liked how one friend told a newcomer to the group that if he found himself in court opposite Zoe..run don't walk. He wasn't fully kidding either. Connor was uncomfortable in social situations and made them as few as possible. But boy did he have some good qualities though.
The supporting cast of secondary people kept things interesting. There was a mix of friends between Connor and Zoe, which KEPT things interesting. Speaking of that Connor's mother Leticia was not anything like you would expect. But it explains a lot of why Connor is like how he is. Leticia and her "gang" of GPG's brought more than one smile as well.
This is of course an emotional story at times but it ends extremely well. The Epilogue at the end shows how things are moving forward to the ...H.E.A.

I was looking forward to this book. I thoroughly liked the first one and I adored this one. It manages to be fun, angsty, sexy and heartfelt at the same time.
Zoe Riva is a great lawyer with a sad past that is constantly struggling to be seen as an equal in her field. Her story resonates a lot because it's not about the big things women might encounter in their work spaces, like harassment or plain discrimination, but about the little subtle things that are there and not even the best partners realize: deals and conversations being made while playing sports, giving an advice against pursuing a client that they wouldn't give to a male colleague, etc. I enjoyed that the author digs a little deeper in the daily things, the ones that go unnoticed and show some of the struggles women go through even with the men that have the best intentions.
Connor Ashton's company is a client of Zoe's law firm and therefore she's off-limits, no matter how attracted he's been to her for years. Besides, he has a lot of trust issues, tends to forget commitments and is overall an introvert.
But when Zoe has an accident and Connor is there to help, sparks fly. And after that, it's really hard to go back to the way things were.
I loved this book. I loved both Connor and Zoe individually and as a couple trying to navigate the situation they were in and the attraction they felt. I loved that they both made mistakes but that they were open and honest to each other most of the time. I liked that it wasn't an over the top conflict but actually two people trying to overcome their past issues and scars. I really enjoyed that the resolution wasn't that they fixed each other, but that what they felt for one another was the motivation to grow and evolve.
I can't wait for Nate's story as he's been my favorite, but Connor and Zoe do have a special place in my heart :)

Conner is an introvert and a genius. Zoe is fierce and determined. These two have been dancing around each other for years. Now they have crossed the line and have to try and work at a relationship. This is a wonderful love story. Two people who have scars that they need to shed to experience a full life. The characters are wonderful and realistic. The series is filled with great guys and girls as well as pooches. The elderly group is divine and will give you plenty of opportunities to smile.

Dating a friend!

Lawyer Zoe Riva and venture capitalist Connor Ashton are friends and her law firm works for his company. But when Zoe was injured falling off an electric scooter, things started getting complicated after Connor volunteered to keep an eye on Zoe after she hit her head. Zoe had been engaged once during high school but she ended it to go to college. Ashton wasn’t the most social person and when he had enough of social situations, he just wouldn’t show up for things.

Zoe is finally giving into the attraction to Connor after being known for dating losers is big deal so they don’t want their friends to know that are dating until they know they have a relationship.

Temptation is the second book in the Bad Angels Series and is a standalone but reading the series in order makes the background of the book more enjoyable.

P.S. Now I want Nate’s story!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
