Twenty-five years ago, Emma Parson's friend, Tessa died in a suspicious accident at their prestigious boarding school. Now, Emma is working at the same school, and with her class reunion approaching, she can't help but wonder what really happened to her popular friend. Was it really an accident or did someone push Tessa to her death? I thoroughly enjoyed this suspenseful thriller! Set in Hobart, Tasmania, I was immediately engrossed in this tale of lies, secrets, and betrayal. We follow the perspectives of Emma, the main character, Harriet, who is the sister of the man Emma suspects is responsible for Tessa's death, and Marlee, who is Emma's best friend and a former classmate of Tessa. I really liked the characters, they were realistic and easy to relate to. I did manage to correctly put half of the puzzle together, but I was still a bit shocked when all the pieces finally came together. This was an enjoyable read with a satisfying conclusion. I look forward to future books by Sarah Clutton. Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

An enjoyable but gritty book, this was for me a quick read. I’d have liked to see fewer but more intensely written characters, but on the whole this was a great story.

So, when you read the premise of this book, it sounds pretty good, right? And the cover is intriguing as well.

But the book is nothing at all like what the premise promised me. It actually jumped between 3 characters, which I normally like but was confused about when it came to this book. It moves slowly and I kept hoping it was setting me up for this great ending... but it wasn't. In fact, by the time I got to the end I just wanted it to be over with, and there was no big twist that had my  jaw dropping to the floor.

Typically when it comes to thrillers, you want to be thrilled. You want to feel feelings, to be left on the edge of your seat, to race to the end because you have to know what's going on. I felt none of these things with this book. In fact, I don't even think the title works for what happened in this novel. It was just very confusing.

Maybe I'm taking it all wrong. So if you decide to read this despite my review, please let me now what you think. I'd love to be proven wrong.

An informal twenty-fifth school reunion is being held for one of the classes of the Denham House Girls’ School. Each woman is living their own life now, but the death of one of their classmates so many years ago is still casting a shadow on their lives.

This story is told mainly from three different points of view - Marlee and Emma who are considering attending the reunion and Harriett, the mother of Clementine, one of their classmates. Marlee and Emma are for the most part, grounded, relatable characters. The book begins with Emma accidentally hitting “reply all” to an email she intended to send only to her best friend, Marlee. Marlee is supportive but hasn’t confided in Emma that she is fighting a strong attraction to her new boss. Harriett is used to being in control, but is dealing with unexpected changes in her personal life as well as secrets from the past coming back to haunt her. We don’t see her point of view, but we get to know Marlee’s estranged daughter Clementine, whose quirky and sharp-tongued exterior hides what seems to be a good person inside.

The book kept my interest from the very beginning. The story is full of complex characters who have unexpected connections to each other. I was disappointed that the reunion doesn’t play as big a part in the story as I thought it would Instead, the story focuses on the current lives of the characters, their past secrets, and current obstacles and how the death of Tessa still affects their lives today. I wish I would have gotten to know Tessa better. She is the catalyst for so many events but I couldn’t figure out her motives. The answer to what really happened to her doesn’t quite live up to the large build-up throughout the book. The lives of the other characters take a few surprising turns before things wrap up for a hopeful ending.

Emma accidentally clicks "respond all" to an email regarding her upcoming 25th class reunion and it opens up a real can of worms so to speak. This story focuses on Emma, Marlee and Harriet, all classmates, and the death of their classmate Tessa. There were a lot of characters and subplots to try and keep straight which I found confusing at times. This was an okay read, but not one of my favorites. Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This book was a beautifully written drama with a winding mystery through it. It was based on the school days of the three women and one of their mothers, but mostly it centred on their current lives and their domestic problems. Great characters and it was brilliantly tied together. The ending was really compelling and satisfying and I will definitely look for more from this author.

A dark and twisted plot that is gritty and intense. An edgy suspense drama full of damning secrets and oh-so-many lies. An unputdownable read!

I just don’t know. I couldn’t get into this book. The characters to me were just not very like able. I managed to finish this book but it is definitely not one I fell in love with. That being said I have heard a lot of people have liked it so it’s just me. Thanks NetGalley.

I started this book and was about to give up. What woman in her right mind catches her husband in the act and is prepared to forgive him. However, I carried on. So glad I did carry on with the book. I really felt for Marlee, as the book went on I came to really feel for her character.
Sarah Clutton has written a book that shows how secrets from the past can effect people even after many years. Like throwing a stone in the water and watching the ripples reach out.
A very enjoyable read and loved the ending.

3.5 stars.
School friends and an up and coming school reunion twenty five years after the event. A school friend died just before they all left school. They have sworn to keep it a secret but someone knows. An okay read, it just did not grab me. I would of liked to have learnt more about their school days. The read centred too much on the friends later in life. This is my own personal opinion and I am sure other readers will enjoy it more just not for me.
I would like to thank the author, Bookouture and Netgalley for the ARC in return for giving an honest review.

I’m afraid I didn’t enjoy this book. I was expecting to read a Psychological Thriller based on the premise and blurb, but this was just a drama and not one that really held my attention.
It starts off following the lives of three women Emma, Marlee and Harriet. Emma starts off with drama after drama. Harriett is struggling to maintain her wayward teenage daughter and Marlee has started a new job. The chapters are quite long to get going, and each one is dedicated to a character, so you don’t feel as if you are moving forward with the story very quickly. Other than a slight mention in an errand email to the past nothing else is mentioned. No tidbits, no intrigue, nothing. It is just following these women, their lives and their turmoils.
The characters weren’t very likeable. Emma is very weak, Harriett up herself and Marlee aloof and judgemental. There was nothing really to keep you interested in their stories and feel as if you wanted to know more or even keep you hooked to know what may have happened in the past (the only way to know something had happened was from the blurb).
I think if this book had been marketed as a drama or contemporary fiction, I would have been in that frame of mind when starting it and potentially have liked it. However, I was expecting secrets, lies and mystery and didn’t get that. So even though this may not be a terrible book, it wasn’t what I was after nor expecting and for that made it unenjoyable.

I was rather disappointed with this book.

It started great but then seemed very long winded to tell the story. It was only the last 3/4 of the book that actually told you anything. And even then there was no big twist or surprise.

Not my type of thing I'm sorry to say.

Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for my ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is an interesting story, set in Hobart about three women. Emma works in the office at the school she went to and is organising her 25 year school reunion. She is mortified to discover that she has done a 'reply all' to an email about the reunion and thinking she is just sending it to her best friend Marlee reveals some fairly personal and embarrassing information.
Marlee has just moved back to Hobart from Melbourne and is trying to fit in at her new workplace. She is attracted to her boss Ben but not sure that she wants to be involved with a work colleague.
Harriet is about to turn 60 and has just separated from her husband. She is struggling to deal with the antics of her two daughters Clementine (a 42 year old successful artist who has returned for her class reunion) and Scarlett who has just finished high school and is enjoying a bit too much social life.
I think that this book would have been great if it was just the drama around the reunion, but it also attempts to bring in a past 'murder'. It takes a long time to get the details of this and is hinted at for far too long. In a way this distracted from what I found to be the far more interesting aspect of the book which was relationships.
Still a good read, and a great first novel by this author. Thank you Bookouture and Netgalley for the opportunity to read this digital ARC in return for an honest review.

3.75 out of 5 stars

I would like to thank Netgalley and Bookouture for allowing me to read an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

We meet three woman, Emma, Marlee and all graduates of Denham House an extremely prestigious private school where only the wealthiest and smartest girls go. As they get close to the graduating class of 1993's 25th anniversary the past begins to catch up with them. Right before graduation Tessa's body was found. The case was closed quickly as a suicide. That never felt right to Emma though. She saw something right before Tessa died and feels that her death was really murder.

I would not classify this as a psychological thriller but more of a slice of life mystery. While the death of Tessa looms large in each woman's life the things going on now are in many way far more important to the story than the mystery itself. Each character is very much a person unto themselves so you will have no problem distinguishing the woman. I enjoyed the drama, the setting and the writing. I wanted to give this a full four stars but there was just a little something holding me from doing that. it doesn't mean this book was not a fun, quick enjoyable read or that these woman were not fun to spend time with. I would definitely pick this up and spend a few hours or days with these characters. I feel that Sarah Clutton will become a real voice in the mystery world and look forward to reading her next novel.

*Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture Books for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.* First of all, I must say how delighted I was to read a book set not only in Australia, but also in Tasmania, a place that I don't believe is a setting for all that many books. So that was a pleasant surprise. The plot of the book is centred on Denham House Girls' School and the privileged girls that attend that school. However, something went wrong there 25 years, something went very, very wrong. How did Tess die? Was it an accident, suicide or even murder? The mystery unfolds as the story moves from the past to the present and the readers learn more about the characters and their past. A thoroughly enjoyable read that kept me hooked until the very end.

unfortunately, I have decided not to finish this book after getting about 20% through. The characters were unlikable and dry, While advertised as a suspenseful thriller, the story line was falling flat and just seemed more like a luke warm drama. The multiple view points and different time frames made me feel confused and the story hard to follow. Not to mention, the feminist in me wanted to scream and rage at our main character who walks in on her husband cheating on her mid-act and actually decides to stay with him because "she cant do any better and where would she get money" yikes.

I appreciate the chance to read this early copy from netgalley even if it wasn't for me!

3 stars. *

This is the first book by Sarah Clutton I've read and I enjoyed it. It takes place in Tasmania, Australia-and I found that interesting as I've never read a book set there nor do I know much about it.

Good Little Liars is a story told in chapters narrated by various characters. It begins with Emma, who fires off accidental reply-all to an email sent to the entire class list for her 25th High School reunion of the exclusive, all-girls school that she attended and currently works for. In the mail, she insults her husbands, makes herself look foolish, and reveals that she has recalled details surrounding the mysterious death of a classmate at the end of their senior year.

We then meet Marlee, Clementine, and Harriet - supporting characters who all played roles in the mystery and have been carrying around secrets for 25 years. The connections between the women and the dialogue and storyline are captivating and interesting.

Recommended for fans of Liane Moriarty.

This was an OK read for me. It had a good storyline but it just had something missing for me.
Would still read others by this author.

Good Little Liars is an interesting look at the lived of three middle aged women, and a secret that has been kept for 25 years. Each has their own guilt and as their lives intersect again, they find that some secrets may best be left buried.

I enjoyed this book, but it focuses much more on the current lives of Harriet, Marlee, and Emma than the secret from their school days. I was hoping for more of a on your toes mystery, but it was still an enjoyable novel.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC of this book.
