These stories are set in a variety of settings and situations that aptly convey common human reactions inclusive of gossiping, mental illness, grief, busy mother, alzhiemers, shifting homes, prayer and many more. A great read for those who like to read for a short time and pick the book up a bit later or have trouble remembering the initial plot.

A wonderful collection of short tales, A quick read but one that was filled with stories to make you think and reflect on. Strong Christian values and bible references but moral issues everyone struggles with or can relate to even if not from a religious background.
I personally found several of the stories touched on things I have dealt with in my life and found comfort in the message delivered. I have already recommended this book to several people and encourage others to read these tales, some uplifting, some thought provoking and just a good wholesome book.

The Brunstetter sisters portray the Amish culture in a thoughtful and insightful way. I enjoyed the lessons that were in this book very much.

I honestly didn't think I would like this book because there were so many short stories written. After I read the first two I was hooked. Each story is simple and straightforward. It usually teaches a lesson. The Brunstetter ladies are back again and have another wonderful book to offer.

I can't thank Wanda Brunstetter, Jean Brunstetter and Richelle Brunstetter enough. I just finished another great collection of stories by them last night.

This collection was extra special as each story had a Bible passage at the conclusion of the story. The valuable lessons pertained to each one of us at one time or another.

Miriam's Care struck my heart. It brought back the struggles we had when my mother-in-law was suffering from dementia.

Laura's Choice gives you hope. The Bible verse for this story is one we need to remember:

I waited patiently for the Lord;
and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. PSALM 40:1

This is a special book that would be a fantastic gift for anyone on your list. I usually pass on books to my Mother after I am done but this might be a keeper on my bookshelf.

A winner!

I received an ARC copy of this book from Net Galley in exchange for my honest opinion of it. This book was a collection of very short and inspirational stories. It was good but I do prefer full stories because when I feel like I'm really getting into the storyline, the book is over.

Thank you NetGalley and Barbour publishing for an ARC of Amish Front Porch Stories. This sweet book was a perfect anecdote to a stressful week. The short stories are easy to pick up and put down. The message and scripture in each encourage thoughtfulness and prayer, and can easily be used for morning devotions.
Each chapter tackles an issue that is real and common. Aging parents, post-partum depression and health concerns are realities of life. Being reminded that we can face these challenges with faith is the gift of this book.
Some may find these solutions over simplified. The wisdom is biblical. There is no need to embellish that.

An excellent series of very short stories that will hit you spiritually and have you keeping your faith. I am not of this faith yet I find these types of stories to be soothing rather than too preachy.

This was a cool collection of stories (almost like parables?) by some great authors. I loved switching between authors and characters through out the different stories. The authors all did a great job of bringing the characters to life in such a short time, and they had such good everyday life wisdom weaved in all the stories.

No matter what your genre of reading may be, you will enjoy this book. There are a total of 18 beautifully written short stories. This is a small book with powerful messages. Each story helps us remember that God, faith, family are in our daily walk. From the moment you open the book and join the characters on page, you are instantly drawn in and never want to leave.

I received a copy of this book from Barbour Publishing and was under no obligation to leave a review.

Amish Front Porch Stories by the Brunstetter ladies.

This is a book of short stories that will center your mind and soul. You will find a story that will bring to mind most situations. These are stories of love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance.

I think of myself as a normal person. I found something that I could relate to in every story.

This book is a keeper. I am sure to refer back to it in the years to come.

Amish Front Porch is a

new book published by Barbour. The pens who wrote this book composed by 18 short tales the ones of Wanda Brunstetter, impossible not falling in love for her numerous, compassionate and interesting Amish novels, Jean and Richelle Brunstetter.
These short tales inspire little and big life-lessons at the same time. I read two short tales: the first one about a lady with some problems with a neighbor tired of seeing around her cats. I was profoundly surprised by the answer of her husband Amos when she referred him that the lady was back another time that day. Amos suggested of praying for her because she had to be such an unhappy person for being in that way. The end of the tale is moving and also the nasty neighbor will understand that, after all, no man's island and people need help sometimes or just company of the other ones.
The second tale I read involves quilts and an Amish lady talented in this activity and her business: she loves to selling beautiful quilts and sometimes she also prefers that activity at family. A sacrifice she does because she is good at it and because she can earn money. Her husband will let her understand that all that pride is consuming her.

A book for refreshing your spirit and your body.

Highrly recommended.

I thank NetGalley and Barbour for this ebook.

The Brunstetter ladies bring a sweet array of stories in their latest novel, Amish Front Porch Stories. Each story has something to do with the fruits of the spirit and how we need them in our lives. It was especially touching to me, as we have been studying the same during a Bible study I attend. Each story is only about 20 pages but bring a simple message that everyone needs to hear at some point. I did enjoy reading them, even though I prefer longer stories. You should definitely check them out! I received a free copy of this story from NetGalley for my honest review. All opinions are my own.

This was a collection of eighteen stories by the Brunstetter’s, Mother, Wanda, Daughter In Law, Jean and Granddaughter, Richelle.
Each story covered one of the Fruits of the Spirit from Galatians 5:22-23, Love, Joy, Peace, Long-suffering, Gentleness, Goodness, Meekness, Temperance.
These stories caused me to do lots of soul searching and introspection of my own self. Some hit very close to home!
The lesson in The Beautiful Quilt was about pride and how we let ourselves think highly of our accomplishments without giving God the credit He deserves. Betty’s Dog reminded me of the saying “and a little child shall lead them.” Betty’s dog came up missing and she diligently prayed everyday, several times a day that God would send Jack back home. Weeks went by when although her parents helped her search, they had almost given up hope but not Betty. She just knew God was going to answer.
The hardship of caring for many children and also caring for aging parents was brought into the stories. Sometimes what we are asked or expected to do seems overwhelming. We think we know better than others and don’t ask God for help. Difficulty with neighbors, being jealous of those with children when we haven’t been successful in having our own, blaming ourselves when a loved one dies, being tempted for something we shouldn’t have like junk food. So many things we try to do on our own, thinking we don’t need to bother God with it when He wants us to ask for help and depend on Him.
These were well written and the best part to me was the scripture included at the end of each story that corresponded to that “lesson”.
Get a copy of this book, grab a cup of coffee or tea and sit on your on front porch while enjoying these very human stories.
I received a complimentary ebook copy of this book from the publisher through the Barbour Review Crew but was not required to write a review positive or otherwise. All opinions are strictly my own.

I normally really enjoy Wanda Brunstetter but this was not my favourite collection.
18 short stories written by the Brunstetter women and many different topics are covered. I felt the stories were a little slow and underdeveloped I understand they were short stories but they just felt like rushed writing not fully evolved.

These ladies have presented us with short faith based stories which tell very heartwarming stories. They bring us love, hope, grace, forgiveness and understanding. Each story was uplifting and inspirational. Many times we feel that the Amish lead a quiet peaceful life without problems or worries. Through stories as these we find that even the Amish face trials. In other words, they are human also. I love how these were an easy but compelling read. I look forward to more books by these authors. I received a copy through Netgalley. A review was not required.

Amish Front Porch Stories is a collection of 18 heartwarming tales. These tales are written by Wanda E Brunstetter, Richelle Brunstetter, and Jean Brunstetter. I loved every one of them. Each one is only 30-40 pages long and easy to follow and read. I am giving this inspiring collection five plus stars.

This is such a sweet book! I love Wanda E. Brunstetter and this is probably my 10th book of hers to read. I absolutely love the Christian references and the beauty behind each story. The fact that each story is short gives the book TONS of sweet reads and excitement to get to the next story. You will truly love the stories and will notice that they are all relatable. Even if you aren’t of the Amish faith, you will find that there is at least one story that hits home and fills your heart with hope. The love stories are my personal favorite but nonetheless, all of them are special in their own way and you will love it.
