I'm always excited when a book by Jayne Ann Krentz comes out because I know I'm going to spend a great afternoon reading it in one sitting. Catalina, and her friend Olivia, grew up in Fogg Lake where all the inhabitants have special "abilities" and distrust outsiders. When Olivia is kidnapped, Cat has to work with the Arganbrights who run the Foundation, to find her. Cat had a bad experience in the past with them and isn't happy to be working with Slater Arganbright. She soon realizes that her abilities complement Slaters as their relationship deepens. I really enjoyed this suspenseful paranormal romance and highly recommend it!

Another solid romantic suspense from Krentz. It returns to her psychic characters, although there is no sign of the Arcane Society. (There are, however, hints of a connection to Harmony.)

Decades ago, the small town of Fogg Cove experienced an explosion in the local caves which left its inhabitants and the descendents with psychic abilities. When teenagers Catalina and Olivia witness a murder in the caves, no one believes them, thinking it merely hallucinations from their budding powers.

Years later, the two of them live in Seattle and run a private investigator business, using their abilities to read crime scenes. When Olivia is kidnapped, Catalina is forced to work with Slater Arganbright, nephew of the head of the mysterious Foundation, which no one from Fogg Lake trusts.

Nicely twisty, with solid characterizations and a believable romance.

Cat and Olivia have a special gift; they use their second sight to solve crimes at their Seattle PI firm. But their special abilities came at a cost. Years ago there was an explosion in the cave system beneath Fogg Lake, the resulting gases put residents to sleep for two days. When they woke up they had very unusual powers. Now, their descendants, including Cat and Olivia are displaying their own unusual gifts. Then Olivia disappears and it appears that someone is hunting down the witnesses to a murder that happened in Fogg Lake years ago. Krentz gives readers a real treat with this supernatural thriller
