You know a book that starts with a kidnapping and a date auction is going to be a wild ride!!

I loved Addie in the first book in this series and was so excited to learn more about her. She's the absolute best part of this book. She's so driven and caring. She makes connections with everyone she meets and infuses her passion for helping people into every aspect of her life. Sawyer has been through it and over the course of this story, I thought that things would never turn around for him.

These two are so perfect for each other. I loved the insane way their relationship started and how it grew. They can lean on each other and support each other when things don't go the way the should. I love all of these characters and have all my fingers crossed that the rest of the team gets their HEA!

3.5/5 stars

This was the first book that I have read from this author and it was an ok read for me. This was a standalone in this series so you don’t need to read the others to know what is going on. Addison need a celebrity for a charity event that she is chairing and instead of asking Sawyer, she decides to kidnap him from the airport. This leads to them exchanging IOUs for various things. It was a sweet sports romance and if that is what you are looking for, then this is the book for you.

A kidnapping as a meet cute?!

Addie needs an huge favor but she’s not sure how to ask it of someone she’s never met so she decides to take action first and ask questions later. Sawyer isn’t sure why Addie has all but abducted him but he is sure there’s something special about her.

The shift from weary acquaintances to friends to lovers was so fun and definitely fit the story perfectly as both Addie and Sawyer had some self discovery to do.

My only issue with the book was that the baseball knowledge was a little lacking (ie playoffs instead of postseason and the first round being a seven game series instead of five) but it’s possible those were fixed for the final version as hopefully was the identity of his grandmother, she his maternal and paternal grandmother at several different points in the story.

I’m hoping the next book in the series is Talia’s!

I received a complimentary review copy of this book but all opinions are my own.

A case of mistaken identify leads to an adventure of the heart. She knows his name. He hasn't got a clue. When a beautiful woman crosses paths with a celebrity there proves to be chaos ahead. Holford proves sweet can be a spicy treat. Catching Her Heart puts heart before hormones and delivers a laughfest. Addison and Sawyer are a reminder that even at the most inopportune times love manages to find a way.

Great book. Addie Carlisle goes to the airport to pickup Sawyer Mcbain the slammers catcher. She gets him to go to a Ms event with her. But Sawyer finds out he was put up for auction at the event. Eventually he tells addie her owns him a favor and tells her she has to attend his agents party. To hear more read the book.

Catching Her Heart by Jody Holford is a delightful make your smile story. I don’t even like sports or sports book for that matter but I am loving this For Love of the Game Series. There is just so much great about the series and the book Catching His Heart.

Let me just tell you –
It is a Nashville story that doesn’t center around a musical artist trying to make it big time.
The players are normal, everyday, feet-on-the-ground people, though Sawyer has some major family issues because of his success.
The characters are people I would want to know in life, and not just for their autograph.
The romance is sweet, romantic and even Sawyer can be over the top in his declaration of love.
The focus is on life and relationships not just the player and the sport. Also while there is hope, not all relationships are fixable. The characters move on anyway to find peace and happiness.
The writing is great with a flowing easy to read pace but never dull.

I can recommend Catching His Heart any contemporary romance fan but especially to those of also enjoy Kate Angell and Joanne Rock’s Texas Playmakers.

An ARC of the book was given to me by the publisher through Net Galley which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

When a beautiful brunette driver meets Nashville Slammers catcher, Sawyer McBain, at the airport, he figures it's his lucky day. Sure, he's usually pretty guarded around people, especially after what happened with his ex, but he can definitely enjoy the car ride. Until she passes his apartment...and keeps driving.
Slammers executive Addison Carlisle needs one little favor. Sure, she may have kinda maybe kidnapped one of her professional baseball players, but it’s for a really good cause. Now Sawyer insists he wants a favor in return.
This is a delightful and at times humorous romance. Since I read the first book in the series and liked it in spite of it not being my usual read I wanted to read this one too.
I was pleasantly surprised that this book may have even been better than the first one in this sports romance series.
The story has it's ups and downs with love, a bad family relationship, love found and love almost lost.
I gave this book 4.4 of 5.0 stars for story line and characterization. There are sexy moments but no overt sexual content.
I received a complimentary ARC of this book to read. This in no way affected my opinion of this book which I read and reviewed voluntarily.

Sawyer is a catcher who has recently joined the Nashville Slammers. He is a very private person who is still recovering from an injury and is growing weary of everyone in his life wanting something from him and not him. When he is picked up at the airport by Addie and asked to attend a fundraiser for MS he is about to say no until he realizes that there is nothing in it for Addie besides her desire to help.

Addie has personal reasons for wanting to support the MS fundraiser and although she knows it is wrong to coerce Sawyer she hopes that the ends justify the means. Her payment for his attendance is two favors but she never expected where these favors would lead.

Sawyer has trust issues because of his past and believes that Addie is too good to be true. Their journey isn’t without some drama but this sweet and sexy story doesn’t disappoint.

A beautiful love story that will make you believe in fairytales. Sawyer is grumpy and closed off. He doesn’t trust many people. Addie is sweet and an optimist. This is a story about discovering yourself and being better for it. The conversations will have you laughing as Sawyer and Addie banter with their quick wit. You will love Grams and Addie’s parents as they torture them about their relationship. As these two keep giving IOUs, they can’t help but fall in love. It takes a lot of love for Sawyer to finally open his heart and embrace all the goodness that comes with being loved by Addie.

Catching Her Heart is an adorable, sweet, and heart-warming read!

Sawyer plays catcher for the Nashville Slammers, the team that Addie works for and her best friend owns. Their first encounter is unexpected and funny and sets the tone for them to grow from tentative friends to more.

Addie is the kind of character I wish I could be friends with in real life. She cares about those she loves, her community, and her co-workers. She genuinely wants to make people's lives better.

Sawyer has been burned before by people he cares about, but underneath it all he is a good person. It is easy to see why he and Addie connect so well.

I liked the first book in this series and enjoyed Catching Her Heart even more. I hope there is more to come from the Nashville Slammers!

I’ve come to love this author, and this particular series. I read Isla and Liam’s story in book one, so it was a no brainer to continue on with the second book. I think I liked this couple more than the first! Sawyer is the jaded catcher for the Slammers, his only true family is his Grams (tug at the heartstrings) because his mother and brother are only after one thing, his money in the big leagues. Addie is Isla’s best friend, and really sees no fault with anyone, especially the hot and sexy catcher for the Slammers, whom she’s just kind kidnapped for a MS charity event to help being in big money so she can help those in need. I truly loved this couple, Sawyer definitely being the challenging one, but there’s something about these two that just tips it over the edge on routing for them to overcome the obstacles. Loved the storyline, loved the intimate details on how these two just worked, and loved Addie’s support system, which included Grams. Overall a great, well written story, can’t wait for the next installment.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book.

This is a new author for me and this is the 2nd book in the series. It moves at a very slow pace and the male lead was a tad boring. I was expecting a little more action and pace and this was an extremely slow burn romance. EXTREMELY

The male lead is Sawyer a baseball player almost at the stage of retirement. He wants to take his team to the world series but is hurting. Addie works for the teach as a wellness coach. She is introduced as she kidnaps Sawyer to get him to help her at a bachelor auction. This starts their you owe me interaction.

I love sports romances but I found Sawyer kinda boring and on the lackluster side. Addie was sweet and kind and giving but I never really connected with her. This was an okay read. Nothing that has never been done before and it was a little too slow for me.

Opposites Attract. Sawyer and Addie’s personalities couldn’t be more different but some how they complement each other and it was lovely to see the feelings between them grow and mature. Of course Sawyer has to go and mess up but he does eventually find a way to put things right.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I loved Addie and Sawyer!

Addison Carlisle knows that she should have asked baseball player Sawyer McBain if he would go with her to a gala for the multiple sclerosis foundation instead of basically kidnapping him because they were already late for it because she wanted to make enough impact so she would be appointed to the board. Addie knew that trying to convince him to do go would be difficult since he hated to go to large functions.

Sawyer McBain was so used to people asking for things from him so when someone tells them that they would owe him a favor in return he was very surprised because it was usually because his family always asked for money without paying it back.

Addie worked for the baseball team Sawyer played helping to players find a work life balance and getting Sawyer to trust someone not to want anything from him other than friendship leading to love.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Rather blah story with blah characters.
The blurb and the “trading of IOUs” sounds a lot more interesting that the story actually was. I didn’t particularly care for either character who both seemed somewhat superficial and not particularly developed.
Probably started off when Addie so called kidnapped Sawyer as his driver meeting him at the airport to drive him back home. Fully intending to use him as her ‘contribution’ to a charity event auctioning off high profile celebrities when she isn’t able to get anyone else. Supposedly racked with guilt but still going ahead with it. Then heaps lie on top of lie, or rather evasion when she doesn’t tell him after he agrees to go, when he’s also going to be auctioned off.
When their relationship starts to develop, Addie gets miffed with Sawyer when he doesn’t publicly acknowledge that they are a couple then does exactly the same thing when her parents unexpectedly come to visit. But then she “has a really good reason and you have no right to be mad with me once you find out why” and I’m so in the right, so grovel. I started flipping around there. DNF - sorry not my kind of book.

Baseball is not really my thing, but occasionally I will read sports romance books that are about baseball. Jody Holford's Catching Her Heart was one of those times. This is actually a second in a stand-alone series, and I hadn't read the first one, but I wasn't lost at all. The characters from the first book show up in this one, but I didn't find it confusing at all.

The initial start of the plot was a bit weird, and Addison seems a little unhinged, but really she is just very ambitious. So I got to hand it to that girl for getting things done. Sawyer is a very stoic man who keeps things close to the vest, so of course I loved him. I did really like his relationship with his Grams. So cute! The rest of his family kind of sucked and it just seemed like a shitty situation for him.

I liked the relationship between the two, what I didn't like was the miscommunication and how Addison overreacts to some things. Actually Sawyer overreacts a little bit at times too. I will say this book is a sweet, closed door romance, so if you are looking for sexy times, you won't really find it here. Still a fun romance to read!

Despite some issues with the couple in this book, never fear, this book does have a HEA. I did find myself satisfied at the end and happy with where this book went. It was a cute romance.

Catching Her Heart is a fantastically cute read. I loved this one so much. Addison is a delight. She is someone you can see being best friends with. I love her attitude toward helping everyone. Sawyer, he is sexy and sweet and you just want to get to know him more. I love the chemistry between Addie and Sawyer. I love Sawyer and his grandma's relationship. I love the changes in Sawyer throughout when it comes to how he is with his family and his career. Addie and Sawyer are just a fun couple that will have you giggling at times. If you are a baseball fan you will just love this book. Jody Holford is fast becoming a go-to one-click author for me. I just love what she brings to the pages and I'm never disappointed. I loved Catching Her Heart and you need to one-click this one.

Another FANtastic book!! I love these Nashville Slammers books - the characters are fun and realistic and the interactions between Sawyer (McBain) and the newest member of management, Addie Carlisle, are believable and HOT!!! I liked seeing McBain as he realized that some people are just nice to be around and how hard it was to realize that not everyone was around him. Addie had such a positive attitude and it came through loud and clear to me as a reader.

I received an Advanced Readers Copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion. It was every bit as good as Jody Holford's first book in the For Love of the Game Series, Covering All the Bases, and I can't wait to read more of her books.

This is the second in Holford’s series about baseball stars in the Nashville Slammers finding love. In this one, catcher Sawyer McBain is surprised to find himself attracted to Addy Carlisle. He’s so used to people, especially his awful mother and brother, wanting to use him for his money or celebrity that he almost can’t believe that one woman could be as straightforward as she seems. All she wants his help for her charity. She also wants to help him deal with the annoyances in his life.

There were points when I thought the plot was going one way and then it didn’t. I appreciated not having the obvious plot turns. It was nice to have a story about good people finding each other.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book that I received from Netgalley; however, the opinions are my own and I did not receive any compensation for my review.

Another fantastic book from Ms Holford. I loved the first book in this series, and was so glad to read more about Addie, Isla’s right hand gal. Such a selfless person, tirelessly working to make things better for everyone around her, not necessarily factoring in her feelings. Desperate to keep her word at a charity event, she “kidnaps” the Slammers Catcher, Sawyer McBain and begs him for help!

Multiple times, Sawyer broke my heart. He’s so cynical, used to people only wanting him for money or favours, and immediately thinks Addie is the same! He soon realises she’s different, but he has so many walls built up, he struggles to bring them down. Watching him open up to Addie was beautifully written and was so powerful to read. As a reader I was rooting for them, and though I got frustrated with Sawyer, one the reader is introduced to his family, you kinda get why he is the way he is!

I’m a massive fan of Jody Holford. Her books are filled with wonderfully flawed characters. Her stories draw you in, and make you root for the HEA

A brilliant read
