This is a very important work in the Christian mission discussion. While very much written from an academic standpoint, I, a non academic throughly enjoyed and learned much from “Mission After Pentecost.” To truly envision a modern world of missions, we must be willing to consider new ways. Amos Young does a brilliant job of laying out out why, “the way forward, however, might be to bury a modernist project, even one that bears the name of Christian mission, in order that something new may arise out of its throes.”

Amos Yong’s “Mission After Pentecost” is one of the most inspiring books I have read on the Spirit. The breadth of wisdom, knowledge, humility, and prophetic boldness that Yong demonstrates in this text makes it a must read for new and seasoned Christians alike. After reading this text, I feel encouraged, enlivened, and ready to see where the Spirit takes me next, as well as the church at large. I highly recommend!
