If you like sweet romances with a clueless hero and nothing sexier than a few kisses - this is the book for you! Rafferty and Harper have known each other since childhood - but when Harper wanted to move from friendship to kisses Rafferty ended their friendship. He didn't want to move into anything permanent and it seems (unconsciously at least) he knew if they started down that road it would be very serious. Neither of them realizes that they have been in love for years - even through all of that. Harper's family owns a failing theme park of sorts - the nature of which was a little confusing. Maybe a little medieval times crossed with Disney? all in a small town that also has a lot of tourists.

Anyway - both Harper and Rafferty spend most of the book denying any spark between them and have somehow managed to avoid each other for years - even though their families are extremely close.

Overall - I had a couple of issues with the book. The timeline of the overall story was pretty confusing. I couldn't tell when their "friendship" ended versus Rafferty's background with a girlfriend who died while they were in college. I was also a little confused about the relationship of the families and how they had avoided each other in a small town. They also went from 0 to getting engaged in like 3 seconds flat. Even knowing their history - this seemed like really fast. How about from 0 to agreeing to date?

I also didn't like either character particularly well. Rafferty seemed to have a lot of depth - but Harper chose to ignore that most of the time. I know that was part of the story - that she had to see him as more than a playboy (but seriously - how did she not know?). I also thought everyone glossed over a little too easily Harper and her mother's relationship. Everyone seemed to just accept that it was normal for an 8 year old to have to take care of her mother and for that relationship to move on to Harper's mom leaving Harper to again deal with the failing theme park while she took a mental health break.

Overall - if you are a hallmark movie fan - this is perfect for you. Gloss over the gory details and get straight to the cute.

The Firefighters Cinderella by Sonya Weiss a four-star read that will set you aflame. This is my first novel from this author, but I will be looking for more as overall, it’s been a good story, the characters were well written, and you could get behind them feel Harpers desperation and need to succeed. This story will have you wanting everyone to get their happily ever afters and I must admit that the Bradford family won my heart. I would definitely be wanting to hear more from them. I gave this four-stars as it was cute and sweet, but I felt that it was missing just that little something. But overall I enjoyed it so I will be looking for more from this author.

This is a cute love story. Childhood friends have a falling out, then realize they have been in love forever! It is a cute, but classic story.

Harper and Rafferty used to be good friends, but not anymore.

Now she needs him to take a part i nthe play, and he needs the part to prove to his boss that he can commit to things. What will happen when she finds out the real reason he wants to help her?

My favourite character has to be Rafferty's grandma, determined to match-make everyone and so funny too.

Harper Bailey needs someone to play Prince Charming in the play that will help her family business, and Rafferty Bradford volunteers himself for the role. The two have a past together but now will have to find a way to work together in good terms to give a good performance. Cute romance.

This book has me torn in two...whilst the book had a sweet story, the authors style of writing was hard to follow...she wrote ‘quickly’ I felt as if I needed to read it very fast, no pauses etc. Made it a tough book to read as you would forget who was speaking at times

Sweet and clean with some solid humor and banter, I enjoyed parts of this book while others missed the mark. If you’re looking for a quick and cute romance, this might be the book for you.

The story follows Harper, a woman who has trust issues because of an absent father. The one time she let her guard down and opened up to a guy, he broke her heart - and now she refuses to open herself up to risks. Rafferty didn’t mean to ruin his friendship with Harper, but he couldn’t give her something he’s not capable of. He’s a good time guy, willing to give a woman up to three dates but never letting his heart get involved. When Harper has an issue with her business and needs someone to stand in as her Prince Charming, Rafferty somehow finds himself in the role. They need to let each other back in to give a good performance, but that’s not as easy as it may seem.

I did like the humor in the story, and the history between these two made it easy to root for them. But the author spends significantly more time lingering on all of the reasons these two shouldn’t be together than she does showing the reader why they should. It’s a constant topic throughout the story, with a lot of internalization about why a relationship can’t happen... which got a little exhausting. I’m also still not clear on the timeline of when they stopped being friends, when he started being a player... it’s these small issues that detracted from an otherwise sweet romance. That being said, it’s a clean and wholesome read with all the elements of a good book. Thank you, NetGalley, for providing me with an ARC. I am voluntarily leaving a review of this sweet romance.

This is a sweet, clean romance. The main characters were relate-able and likable, and their families and friends added to the story. While it was a bit predictable (but that was expected from a Cinderella story!), I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book thanks to Netgalley and Entangled Publishing. . All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Loved this book! It's a sweet take on the classic Cinderella story with a contemporary twist. Harper is the overworked Cinderella, while who is her Prince Charming is up for debate.

I thought the characters were likeable and the story engaging. Rafferty is a nice guy (and player) with more depth than Harper thought he had. He has a max of three dates rule, but when he's thrown together with Harper his world turned upside-down. Harper doesn't trust a man to stay, as, starting with her father, they all leave her. When they're together, the sparks fly and neither knows how to handle it.

If you enjoy sweet (and clean) contemporary romance, you will love this book. The author is on my must read authors' list.
