Jemma is on an adventure! Though she’s not too thrilled about it... After finding herself without a job, she applies and gets a job in a rural town. Alone. Not knowing anyone. This was a wonderful story that took me on an adventure as well. The author is a natural storyteller and it was a perfect “take me away” book that wasn’t overly complicated.

Wyatts your typical sweet and handsome cowboy and Jemma is your city girl next door whose just moved to the country for a new teaching position. Jemma ends up being Wyatts neighbor and his young daughter Baileys teacher, causing some obvious issues in the potential relationship area. But the more Wyatt and Jemma spend time together, the more sparks fly.

If you’re looking for a sweet, wholesome Hallmark story, check this one out. While it did start out pretty slowly in my opinion, once it picked up, I didn’t want to put it down! I loved Wyatt and Jemmas characters, and Baileys personality was such a bright light.

This was a very sweet read for me by an author I have read before. The flow of the story was great as it had me hooked from the very first page. So many great characters to get to know and laugh with while hoping for a happy ending. A story of two damaged hearts in a small country town will give you a warm feeling and let you escape for a few hours of enjoyment.

I am hopeful the author keep Wyatt's horse name Casper, not Dasher.

I love the Cowboy hat at the start of each chapter and the horseshoes it gave the book a great feel. I would like to thank NetGalley and the Publisher for the chance to read this ARC copy to which I am giving my honest and voluntary review.

Country Hearts is the latest novel by Cindi Madsen. Elementary teacher Jemma Monroe has taken a position in small Haven Lake, Colorado, after being downsized at her Denver school. At least she has a rental cottage and a short term position while a third grade teacher is on maternity leave. While in this small town, Jemma will complete her master’s degree coursework while she fulfills this contract.

Just down the road lives single father Wyatt Langford and his daughter, Bailey Rae. Wyatt meets Jemma when his horse, Casper, escapes and heads to the home where the previous owner fed him carrots. Their next meeting happens on the first day of school when Jemma’s car ends up in a ditch when she fishtails on a snowy road. This is also when Jemma meets the adorable Bailey Rae, who turns out to be in her class.

Wyatt’s wife had decided three years ago that it was too quite in Haven Lake, left the two of them, leading to their divorce. Jemma, also a city girl, though intriguing, is not what he is seeking. In fact, Wyatt is resigned to a single life raising his daughter and running his ranch. But this woman is making it difficult to stick to his plan.

In this delightful story, Cindi Madsen portrays a modern tale of what comes next after your earlier plans fall apart. With heart and humor, Ms. Madsen shines love and hope on a dismal future. With rich characters and critters, this story made me smile and brought tears to my eyes. I did enjoy this book and I do recommend it!

This book is published by Hallmark and as always, they do not disappoint! This is a heartfelt story with another amazing ending! I will never tire of Hallmark! From their Tv shows to books, they get you through whatever you are going through and melt your heart! I am so overwhelmed with gratitude for Hallmark for airing their Christmas movies right now when we need them most! Hallmark, we thank you with our utmost gratitude for all that you are doing right now to lighten everyone’s hearts and keep it light!
We begin this book with Jemma Moore losing her teaching job due to budget cuts. Right now, this is very relatable to so many people, not as teachers, but as everyday people. Jemma soon finds a listing for a teaching position to cover a third-grade teacher while on maternity leave. Thankfully, when she was called for an interview, she hit it off with Principal Alvarez and convinced her that this position was for her. Unfortunately, moving from a big city to a small town like Haven Lake was not something that she was prepared for. This was an adventure for her. Adventure is defined as an unusual and exciting; typically hazardous experience or activity. Yup, hazardous. Bet you didn’t know that one. I did not know that one either. My life is an adventure in that case. Hazardous was not something that I signed up for either, but well we are in this together. This is sort of like City Mouse meets county mouse life. I know firsthand how that is in reverse and back.
Jemma soon learns that heals and country life do not match. They look amazing, however functional in snow, they are not. Luckily, she has an amazing neighbor to help her out of her many predicament, Wyatt deems himself invaluable. Little does he know that his daughter is actually in his neighbor’s class. Wyatt is heartbroken after his wife left the small town and moved out and left him with his daughter to raise. We are then brought to Jemma’s many adventures of living in a small town and not knowing much about living/surviving in a small town. The one thing she does know about is being a little girl, so in exchange for some surviving a sleepover and other little girl problems, Wyatt and Jemma develop quite the relationship. We ride the roller coaster of Jemma’s life as a substitute teacher. She is only there for a limited time, but we are not disappointed with her time there. For the rest of the fun, you will have to read the book yourself, but you will not be disappointed. It was AMAZING!

Oh, this one made me SWOON!

Laid off from her teaching job in the city, Jemma Monroe takes a job teaching in a tiny town and rents a house on the outskirts next door to a handsome cowboy who also happens to be a single dad of one of her new students.

Cindi did such a spectacular job with this novel. I laughed, I cried, I swooned…it was so good. Highly, highly recommend if you are in need of a quick read to pull you out of your reading rut!

Thank you to NetGalley and Hallmark Publishing for the free copy in exchange for an honest review.

Cindi has done a brilliant job with this sweet and heart-warming read. Single Parent romances are one of my favourite tropes and this was a good one. I was instantly drawn in with Jemma and Wyatt. Their banter was thoroughly entertaining and witty. Add in Bailey Rae and that's it my heart is full. You will honestly be able to devour this beauty in one sitting.

I enjoyed this story - which was your typical Hallmark romance story. I loved reading about the small town of Haven Lake and its residents. And the main character, Jemma, is a teacher, which is one of the main reasons I was drawn to this book. Jemma and Wyatt, her love interest, were relatable characters and I just loved Wyatt's daughter, Bailey. As I read this, I couldn't help but picture it as a movie playing in my head. This was a sweet story that will leave you with a smile and warm heart!

Jemma is a city girl on an adventure, living in a small country town for a temporary teaching assignment. Wyatt is a home town boy who is all grown up with a daughter he's raising on his own. Turns out Jemma is his new neighbor and his daughter's new temporary teacher. When sparks fly despite how "wrong" it is, Jemma's real adventure begins. Country Hearts is a sweet clean Hallmark romance that I really enjoyed!

***Thank you to NetGalley, Hallmark Publishing and Cindi Madsen. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book. All opinions are my own.***

Jemma doesn’t intend to stay in the small town she finds a temporary teaching job in. Small-town life isn’t anything like she expected it would be, including how the town welcomes her. She also doesn’t expect to be attracted to Wyatt, her neighbor who keeps coming to her rescue, or for him to be the father of one of her students. Thanks to Wyatt’s ex-wife, who left him and their daughter for the excitement of a city life, Jemma is exactly the kind of woman Wyatt wants to avoid. Caught between 2 lives, Jemma has to figure out what will make her happy.

This was a super adorable, fluffy love story. There were lots of minor meddling characters, exactly the kind you’d expect in a small town. There was even a horse who did his best to bring Jemma and Wyatt together, not to mention the adorable Bailey Rae, Wyatt’s daughter. They story had a great balance of chemistry, laughs and interesting characters, and was exactly the kind of quality story I’ve come to expect from Madsen.

This was an absolutely, purely enjoyable cowboy meets next-door-neighbor romance. As "city" girl moves to a small, rural town and learns how small towns work, she also notices her hunky next-door cowboy neighbor. Fun, sweet, clean romance with quirky small-town characters that you can't help but fall in love with. Great, easy read!

What an absolutely darling story. The characters were wonderful and the community sounded like such a nice place. Jemma takes a temporary job in Haven Lake after being downsized and misinterpreting a man's friendship. She is a city girl and has a few adjustments to make. Wyatt is a single Dad that is trying to protect his daughter from heartbreak.

The story kept my attention and moved swiftly. There were places where I laughed, such as the horse who knocks on Jemma's door the first night and her bunny Senor Fluffypants. There were was also the underlying story of kindness. Kindness from the community who welcomed Jemma, but also Jemma's love for her students.

This is a clean, sweet romance.

I've read different books of Cindi Madsen and she keeps surprising me. After best friends falling in love, hot martial arts guys and football fans, Cindi now takes us to a small quiet town, where Wyatt is raising his daughter after his wife left them for the big city. Juggling his farm and parental duties, Wyatt has no time for romance. But when his new neighbor gets stuck in the snow, he can't help but feel attracted to the shy woman.
Jemma really needs a job, so when she gets a chance to fill in a maternity leave in the small town of Haven Lake, she grabs it. This means however, she has to move from the big city to the small town and be on her own.
So, when she gets stuck in the snow, she is very happy to be saved by her handsome neighbor Wyatt. When it turns out, Jemma is the teacher of Wyatt's daughter, Bailey Ray, they meet more often and feel the attraction. But Wyatt doesn't want to get involved with a woman who is 'from the big city' out of fear that she will pack up and leave, just like his ex. And Jemma doesn't want to rely on a man, since it has costed her dearly.
But in a small town like Haven Like, all residents seem to have the same goal: getting Jemma and Wyatt together. Can they deny the attraction? Cozy, heartwarming and funny! Four out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.

Jemma has an upheaval in the middle of the school year. Luckily she ends up in the most heavenly small town. When she meets her neighbor, she decides he must hate helping her.

Wyatt cannot believe how attracted to his daughter's teacher he is. He knows she should be off limits. She is not planning to stay, either. If he could just turn the attraction off enough to be just friends.....

This story just grabbed me from the start. The characters are witty, charming, and seriously attracted to one another! With this story, I eagerly turned the pages. Humor, surprises, and even bits of whimsy appeared.

4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A sweet story about a single dad wanting to make sure that his daughter doesn’t ever feel unwanted and a teacher who is trying to her place in the world and tries to find it in a small town.

Wyatt just wants to raise his daughter without any distractions and with her knowing that the parent that is still with her will never leave. But when he meets Jemma on the side of the road after she gets stuck, he finds out that maybe she is the distraction he always needed.

Jemma can’t believe that she is stuck on her first day. And to top it off the man that helps her is so arrogant and hot. But she needs to focus on her job and the fact that its only temporary. And wouldn’t you guess she luck when he turns out to be her neighbor.

Wyatt and Jemma try to ignore the attraction they feel towards one another but they can’t. And soon they will have to make some tough decisions, especially since Jemma is leaving soon and Wyatt never wanted to start anything in the first place.

Can they find a way to make this relationship work? Or will Wyatt push Jemma away when he needs her the most?

Romance, clean; contemporary
Cute light romantic read. Country setting as Jemma accepts a job teaching in the country after she loses a job in the city. Wyatt, with his daughter, and past hurts, saves her multiple times and she ends up being neighborly to him, opening his heart to the chance of something to heal it's broken pieces. There is more to life than our hurts and worries, and as they both heal their hearts, no surprise that they find each other. Along with a bit of humor and fun moments between the two of them as they sweetly fall, a lovely sweet romance. Two genuine, honest, hurting, but caring hearts made for a perfect, fun escape read! More of a 3.5 for me as a reader.

Reading this book was just like watching a Hallmark movie!!

I love small town romances and this one was so heartwarming and sweet!! I loved how Jemma just threw herself into the adventure of packing up her life to substitute teach in a small town in Colorado and when she decided to go for it, she went for it. Wyatt broke my heart more than once and Bailey Rae put it back together. The kids in this book were so adorable!!!

I so want this town to be part of a series!! I definitely want to go back!!!
