If we think that what we do make God glorious, we blaspheme. If we aim in what we do to display God's glory, we worship. We must join the Bible in saying that the goal is to glorify him by seeing and savoring and showing Him as the greatest beauty and treasure in the universe.

Pastoral failings can damage the church, however, I am in the believe that pastoral failings can be an opportunity for God's glory when a life is redeemed. Is this book about despair or hope? I think it is both. Despair if we give up on God's glory and we don't understand the implications however, when we do understand the significance of God's glory for our good, we have hope for eternity. Circumstances become irrelevant and the gospel becomes life to a cursed world.

The book comes 4 parts
Reasons
Rhythms
Results
Rewards

This resource is for all Christians as we are affected by the sin of others. It is sin that brings us to the cross and ultimately to glory. God's glory reflects his worth. It is by this, we have reasons for hope, equipped with rhythms, given results, and rest in rewards. A reminder of the hope of God's glory to finish well.

Thanks to NetGalley for providing an advanced copy of Glorious Finish.

There are valuable gems in this book. They have to be mined, which takes work and effort. However, the effort is rewarding for this reader as I culled new insights to tried and true precepts. Doctrine is a constant and while we have the biblical teaching down pat, we are in need of a fresh approach or new insights and understanding; Glorious Finish provides such. It is a delight to read the metaphorically rich examples. It is a delight to plumb the wisdom of resources provided- many noted references. It is a delight to glean new perspectives to “old” teachings.

When I began reading, I realized this book was written for pastors. I am a lay person with no pastoral care leadership role church. While portions of the book are geared primarily for pastors, I found the writing and concepts enthralling and pertinent for me personally as I strive to grow in my faith and Christian walk. I think this is important to note because the audience could be much broader. Christians in general, not just pastors in particular, can profit from the treasures found in Glorious Finish! I found it so deep and compelling, I am rereading it already! Yes, a gem indeed!

Earc from netgalley.

I liked most of this one except there were a few times when the author's views differed from mine so those parts I did not enjoy as much.
