This book just didn't go it for me. I wanted to love it, but I just didn't. I think this was a me issue and not an issue with the book.

Hilarious as always. Samantha Irby is one of the only authors who can have me crying laughing from her books. So relatable, I just want to hang out with her for an afternoon.

I tried reading Wow, No Thank You, but it didn't grab me. I don't know if it was the mood I was in or the style. I'll have to try another time since I do think it has potential.

Nothing prepared me for how much of myself would be reflected in Samantha Irby's essays that range from digestive disorders to friends to what it's like to get older and realize you want different things out of life. Weaved with a ton of humor, often at her own expense, it was a delight to read.

this was my first time reading anything by samantha irby and i’m kind of kicking myself for waiting so long! truly hilarious and relatable - especially when she talks about growing up in the 80s and Myspace and that old website WHAT WOULD TYLER DURDEN DO?, OMG i almost died. going to read everything else she’s ever written now, thanks!

Samantha Irby always manages to make me laugh. She arranges the alphabet in the most upfront, honest, hilarious, dry, and truthful way while managing to create connection and hilarity out of difficult things. No other writer I've experienced is able to discuss the technical cracks of being an alive human the way she does and her essays are memorable and meaningful.

Thanks to NetGalley and Knopf Doubleday Publishing Group - Vintage for this e-arc in exchange for an honest review.

This was a laugh out loud book from beginning to end. I have to say my favorite parts were when she talks about our "older" generation and trying to keep up with the gen z kids. Every time she mentioned a struggle we had growing up, like not having cell phones until we were adults--I couldn't help but verbally agree with a "YES!".

She gives great and funny relationship "advice" and writes a lot about her life that I felt was really engaging. All I know is that I want to be her friend and listen to her stories all day. Loved it!

4/5

Samantha Irby, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways...I swear this woman has crept into my head and broadcast my thoughts sometimes. I never worry when picking up one of her books, because they NEVER disappoint. Please keep writing!

In an attempt to catch up with the reviews I fell behind on in 2020 I am only leaving star ratings. For the books that I didn't feel incredibly passionate about.

In this hilarious collection of essays Samantha Irby lays it all out there in with a self- deprecating humor that is sure to make you laugh out loud. This isn’t my usual type of book but I thoroughly enjoyed it qnd could see my self several times in her inability to “adult” properly and sometimes generally failing at life. A great read to make you laugh and distract from the reading things in the world around us.

In my opinion, Irby can do no wrong and this book is no exception. I have been happily handselling all of her titles to all of my customers. A much needed respite from this terrible year of 2020.

I DIED laughing throughout this entire book. This was my first introduction to Samantha Irby and I quickly dove into her back catalogue. For me, this book was a gift during this crazy year and I have spread the gospel of Irby ever since,

What's not to love, its Samantha Irby! I love her wry sense of humor, and the no-nonsense approach she has to telling her stories. I would definitely recommend her books.

Good Lord, Samantha Irby is funny. She's also direct, crass, self-deprecating, and brutally honest. In her latest book of essays readers will delight in this original, hilarious voice. Thank you, Samantha Irby, for being so willing to share your whole entire self with the world. We really don't deserve you.

I love Samantha Irby and listening to one of her books feels like reconnecting with a funny friend and getting to hear their stories. Unfortunately, this one was pretty uneven for me. There were some essays that were great and really had my full attention and others that felt more like filler and I would have been okay skipping. Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for the free advance ebook, I also purchased the audiobook and paper book myself.

While I'm not usually a fan of essays or short stories, Samantha Irby's original voice makes this work something of note. Her descriptive writing style makes the prose come to life in the reader's imagination. Thank you to the author and publisher, Knopf Doubleday for the ARC.

Samantha Irby is, as ever, fucking hilarious and brilliant, and this book did not disappoint. If you enjoyed either of her first two books, you're almost sure to love this one. It's not just straight hilarity, of course, but the darker or more poignant parts are mixed with Irby's usual snark and biting wit, so it's pretty much always easy to swallow. This is a great read anytime, but in a mid-pandemic world, it provides even more necessary--at least to me--laughter-as-escapism.

Irby is hilarious, and every single chapter of this makes me laugh. This is truly a perfect pandemic read.
