This is a great, comprehensive book based on vegetables and how to cook at an almost basic level because of the recipes and discussions it includes, as well as how it seeks to teach readers how to cook some of the most basic foods and recipes.

Soup to Nuts is a tough one, because I don't think it has a strong enough voice. Part romantic comedy, part depressing self exploration.

Thank you to Net Galley for the ARC for an honest review.

This is a wonderful story about friendship, love, and food. I enjoyed the wit throughout. Reading this was a great escape during quarantine.
Many thanks to BooksGoSocial and to NetGalley for providing me with a galley in exchange for my honest opinion.

I wanted to love this one, but it just felt a little bit hollow with characters that never seemed to be there when I hoped they would be, a flat sense of place, pop culture references that fell flat. It was a quick and satisfying read, never losing the reader for a moment, but it just felt...meh. I wish I found more to love here, but I walk away just satisfied enough but not wanting more.

Thank you, NetGalley, for letting me read this.

This is a pleasant, light read. It's a romance, and while we all know where it's going to end up, it's an enjoyable journey getting there. I personally would not have been bowled over by the "romantic" bits, but I guess that's a matter of personal taste. Other than that, it was a good bit of escapism.

I really liked the characters in this novel and the theme. However at times the story felt a little rushed and didnt flow well. The first third of the book was my favorite and I would have liked to it to have stayed focused on that storyline, but then it seemed to awkwardly break off into different routes. Overall it was a good book it just needed a little more connectivity.

Soup to Nuts was such a realistic portrayal of female friendships! Loved Judith Deborah's writing style and the storyline.

This was a quick read which made the telling aspect of the tale more palatable. The story opens and goes on for the first 20% with mainly telling backstory - I kept wanting it to get to where something happens in the now, and thankfully, because this wasn't a long book, it got there shortly after and carried through in a better vein afterwards. Really enjoyed the lyrical descriptions and the details sprinkled throughout, which brought voice to the tale even through the telling parts

I thought this was pretty cute. I whipped through it in about a day. I liked the idea of a food YouTuber and it was a fun way to approach a light novel. I didn't realize it was the second book though so I wonder if I am missing something.

Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC
Romy and Pia captured my attention from the get go. Their friendship is a beautiful friendship for all time. Romy thinks of herself as the moon to Pia's sun but in a lot of ways that isn't true. Watching Romy go through so many phases once Pia had gotten married was a reminder that life always is changing but that doesn't mean it can't turn into something good.

This quick sweet read with a great look at love and friendships.

I received a free electronic copy of this excellent novel on January 3, 2019, from Netgalley, Judith Deborah, and Plimsoll Press. Thank you all for sharing your hard work with me. I have read this novel of my own volition, and this review reflects my honest opinion of this work. I am pleased to recommend Soup to Nuts to adult friends and family. It is a bit racy in places, probably only offensive to us old people. Read it yourself before you pass it on to the teens, though.

Soup to Nuts is a warm, fuzzy tale involving best friends as they enter the real adult world, and the importance of friendship, love, and exquisite food. Romy Belkin is seriously shy and retiring, though she is an instinctively wonderful cook and an exceptional friend. Pia Zimble is Vargas girl lovely, blonde and warm and smart but has never been one for kitchen duty. The girls have been best friends since 9th grade in Colville, New York and roomies in college. Currently 28, they are each a shining light, together they are a formidable force. Just out of school they almost accidentally fall into a career of sorts, making YouTube films of Pia pretending to cook Romy's recipes, meals prepared and the action filmed by Romy. With a few sponsors, they are able to support themselves in a small fashion, while they decide what to do with the rest of their lives. There is even a published cookbook in the works...

And so they bumble along, Pia never happy with Romy's refusal to take credit for the recipes, and Romy forever grateful that Pia is willing to front the project. Things are marching along swimmingly - until Pia falls in love with a visiting Italian journalist. Downstairs neighbor Sam Kaminer and gay friend Declan Flom help Romy through the heartbreak of watching her bestie pulled into the next level of adult life. It is hard for Romy - she loses her income as well as the daily companionship of her roommate and bestie - but see it through, she will. With the help of a couple of good friends...

This was a first time author for me and I really enjoyed it. Interesting perspective on being happy for your best friend finding true love, but also the feelings of missing out your own special bond. I would definitely read this author again.

I thought the best analogy of the book was in reference to Romy being like the sun despite her feeling like she was always the moon. She hid behind her friendship with Pia because of her feeling less than when in fact she was the true talent. I would read a sequel.

Wanted to like this book now. Fell a little flat. Story didn't flow for me.

Thanks to author, publisher and Netgalley for the chance to read this. While I got the book for free,it had no bearing on the rating I gave it.

Oh, what a sweet little story! The amazing friendship between Pia and Romy makes me so jealous that I don’t have that in my own life. And Pia’s relationship with her lovely man is so fun and refreshing. Just a really adorable read that I enjoyed during this holiday season!

I read this book in one day - which is saying a lot since I have a toddler and life is busy!

Romy and Pia captured my attention from the get go. I didn't love Pia's absence from much of the book but I understood it. Watching Romy go through so many phases once Pia had gotten married reminded me of myself when I went through a rather uncomfortable part of life years ago and who I became while I was figuring things out.

I loved the advice Romy got from Pia near the end of the novel - I loved the hopefulness in her words and how we often take life just too seriously rather than value how wonderful it is that we feel so deeply.

This was a quick read, but such a sweet one.
